Favorite things giveaway: Juil flats

These are the flats I’ve been living in this fall.

If you’re not familiar with the Juil brand, they specialize in grounding shoes. The concept of grounding (also called earthing), involves the benefits we receive from close proximity to the earth’s surface. You may notice that you feel different when you walk barefoot on the earth, as opposed to strapped into the thick shoes and walking on cement. Through copper points in these shoes, the free radicals (which cause inflammation in the boxy) can be neutralized and released through the earth. I always feel more energized and light on my feet when I’m wearing grounding shoes.

Grounding shoes have not always been the most fashion forward, but Juil has dramatically changed that. Their shoes are absolutely gorgeous, well-constructed with leather, and feel like a DREAM.

    Afternoon kindergarten for my daughter! It splits my day up almost perfectly in half, and whatever I didn’t get done in the first half I move to K time, when my productivity goes up and I’m alone. It motivates me to prep dinner, take a nap, fold some laundry, read a book or go out on a walk.

    I usually drink lots of water to keep me energized or have a workout at lunchtime. If I’m really sluggish during the afternoon a bit of dark chocolate or coffee usually perk me up.

    How cool are those? I’d never heard of grounding shoes before. You learn something new every day! I take quick bursts up our flight of stairs as my energizer. I’ve also gotten my boss to do our daily meeting as we walk around campus. Much better!

    Going for walks throughout the day helps to keep me energized! I have a desk job, and it makes me feel sluggish to sit for too long. I set my activity tracker to buzz every couple of hours to remind me to get up and walk.

    love those shoes! doing some stretches right away in the morning helps start off the day feeling energized!

    Dance! We are expecting out first child in January and my husband always says of her teacher ever asks what we do in the kitchen I hope she says dance!!

    I own a coffee shop, so that helps me stay energized! But to avoid too much coffee, I also drink ice water with lemon to keep my energy up.

    Something that energizes me throughout the day (besides liquid courage via la tea or coffee haha) is definitely music or podcasts. I get pumped up!!

    I usually have a piece of chocolate mid-afternoon – it always lifts my spirits, even if I’m super stressed out!

    My husband and I wear earthing wrist bands when we sleep…I swear it helps me feel more energized when I wake up in the morning! I would love to try these shoes!

    These days my 4-year old and coffee are my energizers! I do try to drink lots of water as well, and I think that helps.

    My coworkers and I love to chase a soccer ball around in the big basement of our office building. We get sweaty in our nice office clothes but I always feel great afterwards and for the rest of the day!
