Goofy antics

Hi friends! How are ya? I’m so glad you enjoyed this morning’s reader’s request post! <3

It was a good, but long day today.

me10

That’s my “work was cray cray but I’m home now, so let’s chill” face 🙂

This is the Pilot’s face when I said “helloooooooo honey” in my best raspy old lady voice and trying to kiss him with a scary pucker face.

pilot (2)

I’m cool like that, hahaha.

The highlight of my day was definitely Zumba. A very sizeable group of ladies from Georgia checked into the resort today and are an absolute blast. They make me miss my Valdosta clients so much! I’m hoping they’ll be back for my Saturday class 🙂

Some eats:

Breakfast was b-fast cookie dough cereal with berries

cereal

Work lunch and snacks:

lunch

A salad with lots of mixed greens (spinach, baby romaine, chard), goat cheese and beets, balsamic dressing –I didn’t mess around and just took the whole bottle to work, which made it easier, a Macrobar (LOVE these!!), 3 steamed eggs (ate one with the yolk, the whites only with the other two). It ended up being the perfect amount of food- I snacked all day and didn’t arrive home ready to eat my arm, which I call a win 🙂

Not sure what we’re doing tonight, but it definitely involves a walk with Bella and a delicious dinner.

See ya later with a family post! <3

xoxo

Gina

Something to talk about: What’s the goofiest thing that you and your significant other/roomie/best friend/cat do? The Pilot and I will go back and forth, at totally inappropriate times, with idioms. We mostly use them when one of us is asking for sympathy of some sort.

An example:

“I slept in today! I’m going to be late!!’”

The Pilot looks over at me like he could care less and mumbles, “Well, a penny saved is a penny earned”

“Well, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.”

“A rolling stone gathers no moss.”

“A leopard can’t change it’s spots”

and so on and so forth as if it were a conversation we were having. It doesn’t make any sense to me, either, but we do it to tease each other 😉

Zumba was the best thing about my day so far, too! I love Zumba more every time I do it.

  3. Jenn on July 21, 2011 at 9:23 pm

haha, i do that idiom game with my dad, too 🙂

  4. Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance on July 21, 2011 at 9:23 pm

Thats adorable what you & the pilot do with idioms! My boyfriend and I like to fake baby-cry whenever the other one does something that isn’t the slightest bit upsetting.

..I guess you just would have to be there 😀

    • Fitnessista on July 21, 2011 at 9:23 pm

I LOVE those shirts! Adorable 🙂

  7. Lindsey @ SoundEats on July 21, 2011 at 9:26 pm

love the shirt, and this is weird, but I love those two pics of you guys – so real. 🙂 I think in the blog world it’s often easy to fantasize about bloggers and the wonderful lives everyone leads, but we’re all real people – heck, those pics could have been of me and Ross any day of the week!

    xo, friend. Gchat date soon?

    • Fitnessista on July 21, 2011 at 9:27 pm

      please!!! i miss you!

  8. Ali @ urbanfruitbat on July 21, 2011 at 9:27 pm

Hahaha, those idioms are so cute! And I love the sweating for two tank! Instead of saying “I love you”, my love and I say “ella do”. I have no idea how it started, but I can see us being 100 years old saying that to each other with no teeth. Sweet times they will be.

    • Fitnessista on July 21, 2011 at 9:27 pm

      awww!

  9. Sarah on July 21, 2011 at 9:27 pm

Um, my husband and I definitely made up a secret handshake (that involves howling) as an ode to the Hangover wolf pack speech scene, because we always joke that we are each other’s wolf pack. Yeah…we’re cool like that 😉

    • Fitnessista on July 21, 2011 at 9:29 pm

      omg. i love it!

  10. Brittany on July 21, 2011 at 9:29 pm

Oooooh I am in love with your top! 🙂

My hubs and I do all TYPES of weird things…one of them being that we refer to one another as “Mom Cat” and “Dad Cat,” seeing as we have two cats. We call each of the cats “Sir.” And we look high and low for sexual entendres in everyday life, usually while in public or in other inappropriate settings.

  11. Maria on July 21, 2011 at 9:33 pm

How CUTE is that shirt!!!! It will be the first thing I buy when I find out I’m preggers 🙂 When hubs and I are out somewhere dancing (like a bar or most recently, our wedding) he’ll do this thing where he’ll go across the dance floor and pretend to be casting out a fishing reel and I’ll move towards him like he caught me 🙂 I’m laughing just writing this. Totally dorky & goofy but our friends get a kick out it 🙂

  12. Michelle C on July 21, 2011 at 9:37 pm

You look adorable in that top!!

This is embarrassing but my roommate and I have voices for our dogs. And sometimes we will have conversations with “them”. I’ve actually found myself almost saying “The other day Talula said…”

  13. kara on July 21, 2011 at 9:40 pm

you look awesome! love the shirt!

and hahaha, no baggie for the dressing today?? i feel much more comfortable with you taking the whole bottle. thank you. =P

    • Fitnessista on July 21, 2011 at 10:18 pm

I thought of you when I packed my lunch today! Haha

Aww, that is such a cute top!!! 🙂

  15. Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups on July 21, 2011 at 9:46 pm

Love your workout top!! Too cute!

  16. Julie (A Case of the Runs) on July 21, 2011 at 9:56 pm

I would SUCK at that idiom game… I learned many of them much, much later than I should have. And my boyfriend is not a US native, so we would definitely stink stink stink.

  17. Ashley @ Will Run for Food on July 21, 2011 at 9:58 pm

Love the shirt! So cute. My husband and I mispronounce words, on purpose. Crouton=crew-tin, pumpkin=punkin, and many more! We’re cool like that. 😉

  18. Amber @ Chicken and Chocolate on July 21, 2011 at 9:59 pm

Chris has this thing where he will stand around a corner and wait for me to walk arund, see him out of the corner of my eye, and scare myself half to death! I usually end up doing some kind of ninja-kicking screaming jump, trying not to spill whatever is in my hand (he ALWAYS does it when I have something in my hands!!). He doesn’t jump at me, or yell “boo!” or anything… Just stands there like a creeper! lol

He also does this thing where he pulls his pants down so just his butt’s hanging out, and walks around the house until I notice! lmao, I don’t know why, and he’d probably kill me for telling the world this, but its hilarious!!

  19. elliebelle on July 21, 2011 at 10:02 pm

Too cute. I love this post. You guys are such a great couple! My boyfriend and I definitely have our own “speak” as well. A couple different terms of endearment in our world are “turd” and “meatball.” haha! We also call our dog “Chelsaritto, the canine burrito.” (her name is Chelsea). I even made us matching sweatshirts with her picture on it and that phrase underneath is. Now that is NERDY! hahaha!

  20. Holly @ The Runny Egg on July 21, 2011 at 10:03 pm

I love your top — that is so cute!

I think Jason is super goofy all the time, he will say random phrases that he hears when I watch Real Housewives — he’ll use them in conversations when the other person has no clue what he is talking about but I will — he makes me laugh. Sometimes I feel bad for the other people because they are so confused, but it doesn’t really matter to be honest!

  21. Suzi @ Confessions of a Fitness Instructor on July 21, 2011 at 10:04 pm

    Love the shirt!

J and I talk to each other in tv show and movie quotes because we’re cool like that. And if one of use doesn’t know the responding or accompanying line to the quote, the other shake’s their head in disgust.

I think everyone has their own oddities when it comes to talking to a close friend or spouse 🙂 it’s half of what make a close relationship fun!

  22. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on July 21, 2011 at 10:05 pm

The shirt is ADORABLE! And I can see a little evidence of you barely starting to show. The nugget looks great on you 🙂

And the silliest thing my husband and I do…oh gosh, we have all kinds of pet names, i .e. not suitable to print. haha!

    Have a wonderful night!

  23. Julia on July 21, 2011 at 10:07 pm

But what did you get at Lululemon? 🙂 Or do you just use theirs bags to carry your lunch in? Or both? 😉

  24. Jess@atasteofconfidence on July 21, 2011 at 10:19 pm

Haha that is so funny. We make weird faces, but nothing like idioms!

  25. Melissa on July 21, 2011 at 10:28 pm

My husband and I went through a (long) phase where we called each other “My Precioussss” like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. His brother heard us once and looked all surprised and went, “Uh, you know where that’s from??”

Yeah. Of course we know. We’re freaks. Freaks in luv.

    • Colleen on July 22, 2011 at 12:19 am

Too funny! My husband and I have a split level house, and we call the ground level family room “Middle Earth” to distinguish it from the basement. When it is time to clean, it is “the battle for Middle Earth,” and on and on. We are also freaks.

  26. Kayla (kiki85) on July 21, 2011 at 10:32 pm

We throw random song lyrics or movie or tv quotes into conversations like it’s the most normal thing. We’re total dorks.
    And I love that shirt.

  27. Joi on July 21, 2011 at 10:36 pm

LOVE LOVE LOVE your shirt! You are soooo cute!!!

  28. Bonnie on July 21, 2011 at 11:00 pm

Haha! I love the game you guys play…it’s not with my husband, but my aunt and I play rhyming games – we rhyme and it just kind of keeps going until one of us quits. She’s way better than I am but I was named after her – hopefully I’ll be as good as her when I’m her age and grow into my name. 😉 Hope the rest of your evening is restful!

  29. Sarah on July 21, 2011 at 11:11 pm

When I hear the phrase… “When in Rome…”

I 100% of the time complete the phrase with…”Rome wasn’t built in a day!”

They do not belong together, yet my brain tells me they do!!!! 🙂 Love idioms!

  30. Gina @ Running to the Kitchen on July 21, 2011 at 11:14 pm

I love your shirt! I just found out one of my friends is pregnant today and she’s a gym rat so I might have to get her that shirt 🙂

  31. kaila @ healthy helper! on July 21, 2011 at 11:16 pm

THAT TOP IS PRICELESS! I love it! And now you won’t get all the weird questions lol!

  32. Casey @ Pocket Full of Sunshine on July 21, 2011 at 11:22 pm

That top is completely adorable. 🙂

My BF and I play-argue over the sheets every single night. He wraps his whole body up in the sheet and says I can have the whole cover–he hates covers. I say I don’t like the scratchy cover without sheet. He says this way we each get one and if I ask for any of the sheet and he gives it to me I will fall asleep and then somehow sneakily take the entire thing in my sleep. Every night. Hahaha

  33. Allison @ Food for Healing on July 21, 2011 at 11:25 pm

GAH i love that shirt! so cute
I loved your post this morning, I have planned out my new gym schedule, which includes 2 zumba classes a week, i’m super pumped! I have 7 months to get my beach body for my trip to mexico! Your motivational tips really helped.
Oh the things the bf and I say and do, i could write a BOOK there is so many.

  34. Blake on July 21, 2011 at 11:26 pm

My boyfriend and I are both huge fans of the Office. So we quote the show whenever we can make the slightest stretch from a normal conversation. We tend to quote the “Boom, roasted.” bit most frequently.

  35. Ashley on July 21, 2011 at 11:38 pm

My boyfriend and I say mowmowmow instead of “I love you”… yes we sound like cats, yes its normal.

  36. J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) on July 21, 2011 at 11:40 pm

My husband and I talk to our stuffed Ty moose, who happens to be a junkie and gets into shady deals with our other fictional friends, lol. Moose also has a Twitter and facebook account. 🙂

Does it get goofier, or crazier than that? Lol

  37. Amber @ Stop and Smell the Wildflowers on July 22, 2011 at 12:02 am

Just have to say, your Sweating for Two shirt is so cute!

  38. Colleen on July 22, 2011 at 12:15 am

Cute shirt, and even cuter bump!
My sisters and I try to get songs stuck in each others’ heads. We’ll sing something really stick-able as we walk by, like the chorus from “Till the World Ends,” and if we hear the other person humming it unconsciously later on, we score a point. No one ever wins, we’ll just keep playing till we die. =)

  39. Laura on July 22, 2011 at 12:36 am

We meow at each other. The type of meow depends on what we are trying to communicate. Ridiculous.

    • Fitnessista on July 22, 2011 at 10:28 am

      amazing

  40. Brett Marie on July 22, 2011 at 2:40 am

That shirt is quite possibly the cutest thing everrrrr. Also, thanks so much for the motivation post. I am always impressed with your commitment to healthy living and the balance you find with it (you’re kind of my food/fitness idol- no biggie. haha), so it was fun to see how you keep yourself on the right track.

    • Fitnessista on July 22, 2011 at 10:28 am

      aww, thanks girl!

  41. Ashley on July 22, 2011 at 4:07 am

I love your sweating for two shirt! Where did you get it?

  42. Tracy on July 22, 2011 at 5:03 am

We randomly lick each other. Usually just on the check or shoulder but sometimes we’ll compete to see who can lick the weirdest place – like along the eyebrow! Fun to see if we can lick the other person in public too.

    • Fitnessista on July 22, 2011 at 10:27 am

      HAHA!

  43. McPinks on July 22, 2011 at 7:09 am

Looove that shirt! – What kind of beets do you use in your salad?

I’ve only had beets while out at lunch/dinner and really don’t want to roast awhole one just for me.

I’m kinda obsessed with beets right now! *lol*

    • Fitnessista on July 22, 2011 at 10:27 am

i buy the pre-steamed ones from trader joes- this way all i have to do it chop them 🙂

  44. Elizabeth on July 22, 2011 at 7:30 am

Your shirt is ADORABLE. Pilot face is very amusing.

Our goofy thing is that we call each other “Greg.” Like from Meet the Parents. “The answer, Greg R.N., is no you cannot.” Or like someone will say they’re going to do something that sounds kind of lame (Like “I’m going to defrost the fish”) and one of us will say “We’ll certainly look forward to that, Greg.”

We use a lot of movie lines because I guess we’re actually pretty uncreative. My favorite is when people get scandalized by my stripper moves at Zumba and I’ll tell the husband, “It’s not dirty dancing! It’s just ZUMBA!” (from Along Came Polly) or when we’re out walking I’ll tell him in a Southern accent, “Hold my hand baby! WOOO!”

OMG we are total, complete nerds.

  45. Heather (Heather's Dish) on July 22, 2011 at 7:54 am

    your tank is soooooo cute!

  46. Shayla @ The Good Life on July 22, 2011 at 8:24 am

Love that sweating for two tank! You look so cute and awesome Gina!!

My hubby and I have pet names for each other, but my more favorite thing we do is that when we say goodbye to each other for the day we always end it with HHS! Which means Happy, Healthy, Safe 🙂

  47. Kari on July 22, 2011 at 8:49 am

That shirt is awesome!!!!!! I love love it, way better than the Britney Spears Golden Ticket one 🙂

    • Fitnessista on July 22, 2011 at 10:26 am

      hahah thank you

  48. Mo on July 22, 2011 at 9:05 am

Instead of saying “I love you”, he says LUNL (love you nice lady) and I say LUNM (love you nice man). And if we’re watching baseball and our team is worthy of a double fist bump – we bump fists and then bring our hands up to the side of our head, spread our fingers out like antlers and say “moose”. Silly, just plain silly.

  49. Mellissa on July 22, 2011 at 9:07 am

Love that shirt, so cute! The boyfriend and I laugh a lot, at each other, at the dogs and if we find ourselves a bit tense we try to bring up a funny story to break the tension.

  50. April on July 22, 2011 at 9:32 am
