“Grill it up” and a small giveaway
Hey everyone! Back to the grind, eh?? Hope your Monday is treating ya well so far 😀
I felt a little off yesterday after Saturday night’s shenanigans but I was so happy to make dinner with the pilot. We’ve started a habit of grilling on Sunday nights and it feels like such a great way to start the week 😉
We had sweet potato fries (seasoned with EVOO, sea salt, pepper, paprika and chili powder), veggie packs and baby bella mushrooms (with balsamic, sea salt, pepper and rosemary)
And the pilot plopped his organic grass-fed beef burgers in the middle. I almost cried happy tears when I saw that our Publix started carrying Greenwise meat because until now, I’ve had to get his carnivorous purchases out-of-town and freeze them. This makes life soooo much easier. He seasoned the burgers with jalapeno slices, worsteshechireshire sauce (does anyone else have difficulties with that word? I usually call it “worst” sauce), sea salt, pepper and stuffed them with pepper jack cheese.
He’s extra sweet about keeping his meat away from my veggies (TWSS?? Ahhhahaha). He uses separate spatulas everything! Whatta guy 😀
The finished product rocked my face off.

And I ate allllll of them >:) You know I like my spicy.
After dinner, we went to get a tour of a kennel here that Viesa is going to stay at while the pilot and I drive to Oklahoma City. My aunt is going to watch Bella, but since Viesa wants to eat my aunt’s yorkie, we’re finding another place for her to stay since Megan (who is our Viesa-sitter) will be at school with me!! Lots of planning, but it’s all working out so far.

I just want to say thank you again for sticking with my bloggy post plastic surgery. It was a little weird getting everything switched over, and the Google reader disappearance, but now the bloggy’s in recovery mode. Special thanks to all of you who helped me get the word out about the re-subscribe issue <3 I hope you know how much I adore each and every one of you and thank you for making this such a FUN place to talk about food, fitness, mumbo jumbo and everything else. I started the blog on a whim -and because the pilot told me to “get a hobby”- and you guys have turned it into something so enjoyable and rewarding. Ok, mush part over.
Now, who wants some macaroons??

I love both dearly –chances are that if something falls into the “dessert” category, I’m a fan- but I’m definitely a cake person. My favorite homemade cake is flourless chocolate but a la box, I love FUNFETTI!!
******I’ll use a random number generator tonight at 9 EST to pick the macaroon winner, who can choose from blonde, chocolate, or almond butter-stuffed macaroons.

Ice cream, hands down. I like chocolate chip cookie dough! But honestly, I don’t think there’s a flavor that I would say no to… 🙂

Wow, this is a little like Sophie’s choice. I think I’d say ice cream though, since it’s usually more consistently delicious than cake. Cakes always sound so good, but so frequently disappoint. Frosting, well, now that’s another story.
DEF a cake person…ice cream makes this lady sick! But funfetti cake mixed with 1 can sprite zero is the BEST combo ever…AFTER cheesecake, that is! I love me some cheesecake with lots of strawberries, yum! 🙂

I’m definitely a cake person — red velvet cake with cream cheese ice cream . . . there’s really no comparison.

ice cream – usually a vanilla base with lots of chunks brownie, cookie, macaroons, nuts, coconut – you get the idea! love the new design!
Ice cream!!! I love the gross blue cotton candy flavor. It reminds me of being a kid and that blue is just weirdly attractive. Not to mention it is usually really creamy. AHHHHHH I want some now 😉

Ice cream by far! I actually can’t stand cake at all 🙂 I love when ice cream is super cold and hard – favorite flavor is strawberry (with actual strawberry pieces) or chocolate!
I am definitely a cake person! And when I am looking to splurge, homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. So good! And I tell myself the carrots, raisins and pineapple make it healthy! 😉

The grilling looks awesome! We have been without a grill for a while now (we left our old grill with the people who bought our house in MD. We are planning on buying one soon and I can’t wait! Greenwise rocks. Love Publix….outside of speciality stores like WFs and TJs it is my FAVORITE grocery store. Everything is always so fresh. Love those sweet tato fries. I am giving yuca fries a whirl tonight. Root veggies are so much fun.

Hey Gina! I’m so much more of an ice cream person than a cake person. Its too hard for me to choose a favorite flavor, but I definitely enjoy chocolatey and rich ice creams over the fruity ones. 🙂
I am in ice cream person and my favorite flavor is still Blue Moon, so good!
Long time reader, first time poster since this is a great question. Cake! I love, love cake and my favorite all time is vanilla cake with funfetti icing. You can’t beat it! I even made it for my last class of grad school this year.

I am totally an ice cream person – as far as I’m concerned there are few things in this world that are better than vanilla soft serve in a cone with rainbow sprinkles!!
I love ice cream, but I have to say cake because I love icing even more. I love all cake, but my top two are chocolate with white buttercream icing and a ginormous chocolate chip cookie cake with cream cheese icing. Mmmmm!

On to the question though, I am a hands down CAKE girl! While I do agree there is nothing better than boxed cake, I have my all time favorite recipe, buttermilk chocolate cake with buttermilk chocolate frosting… holy yum huh?
