If the shoe fits…

Helloooooo 😀 HAPPY FRIDAY!! Hope you’re having a great day so far <3

I can’t believe I’ve already taught bootcamp and went with the Pilot to take the puppers to their dental cleaning appointment. Morning and I aren’t usually friends 😉

It broke my heart because Bella was running up to all of the nurses with her tail wagging, and when they put the red leash on her, her tail tucked under and you could tell she was afraid.

bella

Thanks to those of you who left reassuring comments about the fur children being put to sleep for their dental cleaning. I still worry about their furry faces though!

Last night, I just chilled at the casa, wrote the Indulge post (thanks for all of your lovely feedback) and called it an early night since I had to teach before the sun this morning.

Bfast was the standard breakfast cookie dough cereal with homemade cashew butter, 1/2 giant organic peach and goji berries

cereal (2)

Some other recent eats:

Amy’s black bean vegetable soup – Operation Eat Through Our Pantry Before We Move has begun 😉

soup

(It was kind of nast but 100x better with Herdez salsa, Garlic Gold and cumin mixed in)

Salad with homemade balsamic dijon dressing (balsamic, EVOO, Garlic Gold, sea salt, pepper, a lil Stevia and Dijon mustard)

salad

Brown rice bread with nutritional yeast and Earth Balance

bread

On a napkin bearing the meaning of life:

Speaking of shoes….

It’s FASHION FRIDAY!

For today’s Fashion Friday post, I wanted to make it a little more interactive and figured we could help each other shop 😉

The theme:

FALL SHOES!

There are so many awesome trends for fall shoes, including animal print

image Topshop

Lace

image Forever21

Clogs

image Victoria’s Secret (Steve Madden)

Grungy boots

image Urban Outfitters

Jewel-toned heels

image Chie Mihara

image Louboutin

and the the list goes on and on.

To be honest, I’m more of a purse and jeans girl than a shoe girl. Buying a pair of fall boots last year was a tough decision, so I ended up enlisting Kailey as my personal shopper and she picked them out for me 😉

Today, I thought it would be fun to post a comment with a link to the shoes you’re lusting after this season. We can get new ideas from each other 🙂

So tell me friends, what shoes are you lovin’ right now?? Are you a shoe girl? Purse girl? Jeans girl? All of the above? Hate shopping??

I’m off to the squadron BBQ 🙂

See ya this afternoon!

xoxo,

Gina

I’m so a purse girl. Coach owns me!
You’ve had quite the productive morning, love that feeling.

  3. Jessica @ How Sweet on August 27, 2010 at 9:12 am

Don’t make me choose! I am a huge shoe freak with well over 100 pairs in my (2) closets. I pity my husband.

    But not really.

I’m not a shoe girl, but my latest kick has been going to forever 21 / urban outfitters (sale section!!) for cheap dresses 😀

I am SO a shoe gal! – I already own leopard print pumps and am lusting after these boots for the fall/winter.

im obsessed with shoes, but i rarely if EVER buy them full price. i always find mine at DSW or tjmaxx/marshalls! i havent even thought about fall shoes yet!

  7. Holly @ couchpotatoathlete on August 27, 2010 at 9:35 am

I love those animal print heels!!!

Sadly I am such a horrible shopper, I never know what looks good or what is “cool” — I end up buying the same jeans, the same shirts, skirts, sweaters just in different colors. A friend of mine calls me a cartoon character since I look the same every day 🙂

I’m glad the puppers are ok — I wish you could have somehow edited their pics to have big white pearly smiles!

  8. Allison on August 27, 2010 at 9:37 am

i love those animal print and clogs, so cute! I wear boring shoes, because my feet are too wide for anything nice, i get ALOT of pain in my feet and swelling otherwise.
I’ve been thinking about getting a foot surgery to take basically shave some of the bone down in my feet to make them less wide. what do you think?

    • Fitnessista on August 27, 2010 at 9:47 am

what is the surgery and recovery time like?? it sounds painful….

    • Dana in KC on August 27, 2010 at 10:07 am

Be really careful about foot surgery. I have been in the footwear biz for a long time and have seen a lot of feet that surgery has not helped, in fact it has made them worse. You’ll still have to wear “comfort” shoes after it too. Having said that, if you are in massive pain see at least 3 foot docs will a good rep.

      • Allison on August 27, 2010 at 5:15 pm

thanks for the tips. I haven’t really looked into it a whole lot, nor have i seen any doctors about it as of yet, i’ve just heard about it and the idea has crossed my mind. It does sound painful. But i should and would definitely see a few doctors before hand to see what they suggest and so forth.

        • Fitnessista on August 27, 2010 at 5:24 pm

good idea. feel it out and do a lot of research and you’ll know what the right decision is <3

  9. Brittany on August 27, 2010 at 9:41 am

I am absolutely loving (and needing) these fall boots! They are pricey, so I haven’t gotten up the nerve to buy them yet…my finger keeps trying to click “add to cart,” but then it gets whimpey and limps out.

I wish I was more of a jeans girl…I adore other girls’ cute designer jeans but just never buy them for myself!

  10. Nicole @ Making Good Choices on August 27, 2010 at 9:51 am

I’d rather buy clothes and bags, but I still love shoes. I love these. not very practical, but still fun. http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/shoes/pumpsheels/PRDOVR~28758/28758.jsp

  11. Jess - The Domestic Vegan on August 27, 2010 at 9:52 am

I love shoes, but I’m not a heels person. I love how they look, but my feet always end up hurting within an hour & then I turn cranky. 🙂 Whiiiich is obviously no fun. So I ADORE flats. Cute (non-leather) ballet flats are my weakness! I also love boots! I recently got these for fall & I love them: http://www.zappos.com/madden-girl-ivorry-cognac-paris

Cute shoe picks…I’m usually looking for a good balance of cuteness and comfort when I’m shoe shopping. No ugly granny shoes for me, but they can’t JUST be cute.
I am very in love with the pair of TOMS I just got. Casual..comfy…cute…plus, TOMS has an awesome mission!

  14. Nicci on August 27, 2010 at 9:57 am

  23. monicanelsonfitness on August 27, 2010 at 10:59 am

I totally agree- I am more of a jeans, comfy shirt type of gal, however the boots you posted look so great, all except the (grungy boots) to me:) For fall I am all about the animal print and I do have to ay I love Uggs too. I have to say the Victoria Secrets catalog for Boots looked sweet too.
    Have a great weekend!

  24. s on August 27, 2010 at 11:04 am

oh i LOVE animal print though i don’t rock it as often as i would like. still i bought some animal print flats from h&m for the fall. these are all very cute, i especially like the louboutin ones!

  25. ellie on August 27, 2010 at 11:18 am

I’m a purse girl too (and lululemon girl!!) – but have been known to get into boots/shoes as well. I did just buy these: http://www.zappos.com/product/7706296/color/2986 – which is kind of crazy cause normally I don’t go for such high heels – but these are so gorgeous…and aren’t too terribly uncomfortable. But I did also buy some basic wooden clogs to counteract the height of those other heels: http://www.shoebuy.com/troentorp-bastad-clogs-johansson/261605/557345
Thanks for the fun post! I loved seeing what others bought or are planning to buy.

  26. Michelle @ Turning Over a New Leaf on August 27, 2010 at 11:29 am

I’ve been lusting after the same boots for the past four years.

They’re black, knee-length, heeled boots with a slender (but not stiletto) heel, slightly rounded toe (think if you took a file to Catwoman’s boots and soften the edges), with buttons all up the side very a la Victorian period.

Yes. It’s been four years, and Target no longer carries them, but I still yearn for them.

  27. Heather (Heather's Dish) on August 27, 2010 at 11:30 am

OH MY GOSH those lace boots are HOT! i love them…those complete me 🙂

  28. Scargosun on August 27, 2010 at 11:31 am

I love shoes. There is a pair of boots at Title Nine that I am LUSTING after. They are called, The Rebel boot and they are like nothing I have ever owned. I need them so badly…along with the rest of their site.

  29. steph (@ mediterraneanmiss) on August 27, 2010 at 11:33 am

    I. need. those. lace. boots. NOW! What an awesome look; love it.
Your babies are so sweet, I totally get the dog-mama worry. What kind of dog is your second one? Too cute!
I’m with you on the purse front. I can’t get enough of them. Shoes are fun too, but a little less life-altering.

  30. Bethany @ One Girl's Taste On Life on August 27, 2010 at 11:37 am

I saw some boots in a magazine I fell in absolute love with. Unfortunately, I can’t remember which magazine it was (I’m guessing either Vogue or Glamour).

They were tall. They were high heeled. They were leopard print. They were gorgeous. I wanna say they were $500+. A tad out of my price range, but a girl can dream, right?

I love shoes, purses, jeans, dresses, jewelry, all of the above! Unfortunately, I’m not 100% skilled in putting outfits and accessories together, but that’s where my friends come in! Great post today! Love it!

  31. Karyn on August 27, 2010 at 11:47 am

i love those shoes. although i’m so tall (5’11”) that i’m always hesitant to wear heels! my shopping vice is dresses. i can’t get enough!

    • Kailey (SnackFace) on August 27, 2010 at 11:51 am

Karyn- Girlfriend, I’m 5’10” and wear heels ALL the time. I say go for it!!

  32. Jackie (Army Wife Extraordinaire) on August 27, 2010 at 11:53 am

I “try” to be a shoe girl after watching so much Sex and the City, but all I end up with is a closet of nice shoes that are never worn because wearing heels for an extended period hurt my feet.

  33. Angela on August 27, 2010 at 11:54 am

I’m more into clothing than shoes or bags. Although shoes would be next. But it sucks that they take such a beating in NYC. I’m digging embellishments on otherwise classic shoes, lace, sequins, grommets, etc. Also love flat maryjanes and boots. Suede to be exact. Love suede.

  34. Kailey (SnackFace) on August 27, 2010 at 11:57 am

Hahaha I almost forgot that I was on a mission to find you boots last season! Too funny!

This season I’m really into Oxfords (especially two-tone ones): http://www.stevemadden.com/category.aspx?id=613

I also love the flat, motorcyle-style boot, but I have yet to try some on to see how the look: http://www.jimmychoo.com/boots/biker/invt/102bikercsu/ $1,050…no big!

Love shoes! I’m bad with handbags, though. I rarely lust after them…

  35. highonhealthy on August 27, 2010 at 12:16 pm

I’m actually more of a shirt girl.. haha. You can never have enough shirts! I do love shoes though and if I could buy any pair right now it would have to be something like this one: http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4232268

    I need boots badly!

    • Chantal on August 27, 2010 at 12:51 pm

Love your pick! Especially because while I’m not a shoe girl per se… I have such a weakness for boots… tons of them.

  36. Julia on August 27, 2010 at 12:21 pm

I’m an everything girl! I approach life with the definition of gluttony!
Haha, only half kidding. But seriously, I love shoes, bags, clothes, jeans, jewelry. All of it.

These booties look a little like Louboutins and a little like Dior. I LOVE them.

  38. Megan (Braise The Roof) on August 27, 2010 at 12:24 pm

I don’t hate shopping but I hate dropping the cash for it! I’m more of a dress/skirt kind of girl. It’s funny because I live most of my life in jeans/pants, but I love shopping for dresses! Go figure.

  39. Judy (cookbook maven) on August 27, 2010 at 12:24 pm

Unfortunately, I like everything — altho I’m not that much into bags. After a recent visit from the folks, I needed some retail therapy. Ended up with a dress, top, and a very cool pair of sort of zebra print Sam Edelman platforms. Being very short, I luv me some platforms.

I wasn’t that much into shoes til I lost a bunch of weight — it’s becoming a problem!

    Continued vibes for the pups.

  40. Yvette on August 27, 2010 at 12:41 pm

I bought these amazing boots that you couldn’t get my feet out of for a while this year at the Nordstrom sale:

    http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3058768?origin=keywordsearch&resultback=254

I guess I’m going towards one of the Western trends this year.

I prefer shoes over bags, because I hate having to transfer the contents of one purse to another. My real fetish, though, would have to be headbands. Love, love them. Link to any cool ones you know of! As far as shoes, I live in a rainy climate, so this year I’m thinking I need some sexy rainboots, por ejemplo:

  47. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on August 27, 2010 at 1:48 pm

Oh I love the 1st animal print platform peeptoes you posted…those are TOTALLY my speed! Love em!!!! However, I always wear flipflops in my day to day life. I am not one of those women who wears “cute shoes” to the grocery store or to do errands. I live in beachy, hippy, happy, sun-and-fun-lovin’ San Diego where most people were flips all year long. Now at night or when I go out, a different story but daytime, it’s flips and COMFORT for me!

So glad the doggies and the teeth cleaning went ok and that’s done. Whew!

    Have a super weekend Gina!!!!

    🙂

  48. Pearl Lee on August 27, 2010 at 1:52 pm

shoes are so much fun – i think i’m more of a shoe girl. but it’s hard for me to buy any shoes because one foot is smaller than the other! it’s not obvious, but it’s definitely noticeable when trying on shoes. hehe.

    • Pearl Lee on August 27, 2010 at 1:53 pm

oh, sorry if that was totally gross! i think the doctor told me that everyone’s feet is not the same size (they differ a little), but i just happened to be on the more extreme end of having a 1/2 size difference.

  49. Tina on August 27, 2010 at 1:52 pm

I’m sadly not a shoe girl at all. I have a black and brown pair of each – sexy heels, standard low heels, basic flats, and that’s all. I AM a jean girl. It is the one thing clothing wise I will always splurge on. After this baby, I better get back in my old pants…otherwise restocking could get expensive! LOL
