podcast is back (+ a giveaway!)

Hi from Tucson! Exciting news today: the podcast is back! I took a little bit of a spring break to get my creative mojo going, and wanted to take some time to narrow down the type of content I wanted to provide. I didn’t expect it to grow as quickly as it did (thank you!!!), and wanted to make sure I was giving you the best content possible. I took a couple of months to brainstorm, interview guests, and relaunch with a more strategic vision.

So, here we are!

Fitnessista Podcast Cover

(Same photo! Maybe we’ll update it in the fall)

I’m very excited for the newest episode because I’m chatting with my good friend and macro coach, Emily Field, RD. Emily is extremely knowledgable, down-to-earth, and I love chatting with her. You can check out the podcast notes + a full transcript of the episode here.

Exciting news: Emily is going to be teaming up with me for this year’s Summer Shape Up! We start the party on June 24, and she’ll be providing the meal plans, grocery lists, and macro counts for your nutrition goals.

To join in, make sure you’re signed up to my newsletter. This way you’ll be sure to get all of the info first!

How about a little “welcome back podcast” celebration giveaway?

So glad you’re back! I love your Podcast! In fact, you were the first podcast I ever subscribed to! I planned to jump on here to comment about this episode anyway. I loved you disclaimer at the beginning about this not being for little ears. As a mom to a young daughter, I appreciate your respect of protecting children from all of the negative messaging that is out there. Awesome job! For the future, I’d love to hear some information about how to start a healthy living journey. Like how to start an exercise routine or how to figure out a diet plan. Also, I’d love to hear how you stay motivated and on track. Thanks for your great content!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on “clean” beauty, health, and household products since I know this is something you’ve mentioned plus your love for Beautycounter.

I’d love to hear your favorite healthy meal ideas! Also, how to get the proper amount of exercise and what that might look like in real life with two young kids. Love your podcast!

I was happy to see your podcast back in my feed yesterday! I’d love to hear someone on the podcast talk about endurance activities like running marathons, triathlons, etc. I’m particularly interested in the best ways to incorporate strength/cross training in with the training demands of these activities.

  7. Lauren L. on June 6, 2019 at 7:36 am

And I subscribe to the podcast :-).

I’m so glad your podcast is back! I really liked hearing about women’s health from the experts that you had on. I’d like to hear about a podcast about parenting or anything on personal growth/mindset. Thank you!

Yay for the relaunch! I’d love to hear a podcast with tips and stories on how people who work in an office try to fit in all the healthy to dos in life. I know I struggle trying to fit in workouts, packing healthy foods, getting all my steps, etc.

I’ve been subscribed on Apple Podcasts since the first episode 😀

  12. Kristin on June 6, 2019 at 8:25 am

It would be awesome if you had Juli Bauer from Paleomg on the podcast. You both are pretty much the only 2 blogs I follow on a regular basis for years.

  13. GeeAnn on June 6, 2019 at 8:41 am

I would love to hear a podcast on pre & post-natal exercise and nutrition. I know you have the Post-Partum fitness guide but how did/do you make the time for it?? That’s the one thing I’m nervous about since I’ll be a first time mom and just getting motivation to work out and eat healthy in the first trimester has been a real struggle.

  14. Danielle on June 6, 2019 at 8:50 am

Great episode! Glad you’re back. I would like to hear more about family/life/work balance and how you stay on top of that.

  15. Molly J on June 6, 2019 at 8:56 am

Ooh, glad you are back! I would like more about macros (I know you did one, but I feel like I have more to learn), maybe intermittent fasting? Gut health? Supplements? Meal prepping tips from you and others who have mastered it.

  16. Morgan on June 6, 2019 at 9:01 am

I’d love to hear more detail from different RD’s similar to Emily. I so appreciate their insight.

  19. Morgan on June 6, 2019 at 9:04 am

I sincerely look forward to the new episodes each week, and while I understand the hiatus, I was so bummed! I am so interested in the health/wellness/fitness world, and while I do not work directly in it, I manage the Benefit & Wellness program for my company – the topics discussed are great idea generators for my personal and professional life. Gina covers an array of topic, from reliable sources, and I appreciate her interview personality and approach.

I love your podcast and learning from it. It has been a blessing on all road trips I’ve been taking (Air Force Wife…. you know how it goes)! I loved your episode with the lady doctor – as a future family nurse practitioner, I appreciate that you spread real, true information in a healthy way! I also love your episodes with the pilot because it helps me deal with my new role as a military wife (girl, it is HARD sometimes.) I would love to hear more about how you balance all of your roles as a mother, wife, work on the blog, eat health and exercise. Also, stress relief!

    Welcome back!

I’d love to see a topic surrounding ditching the diet mentality and things to focus on for long term health success. Also, ways to reduce stress as a busy mom. Both things I’m currently working on in my own life.

  47. Emily on June 6, 2019 at 12:04 pm
