Raw-mazing Giveaway
Hey everyone! Hope you’ve had a great day so far <3 Thank you for all of your advice regarding whether I should give running another chance. I’m still thinking it out and want to talk it over with the pilot… so we shall see 😉
So… Bikram is HOT.
(Source)
Not so much Bikram himself –my apologies if you find him seksi, he’s just not my type- but the yoga oven torture chamber. I LOVE the heat and it usually feels amazing, but this morning the air was thick, uncomfortably hot and took a lot of deep breathing to get through the 90 minutes. It was a very, very challenging class.
When it was over, I took my schweaty self to Whole Paycheck and sipped a carrot, apple, beet, ginger juice
and also got hot bar for breakfast.
Plantains, squash and zucchini, shrimp salad, Babylonian Treasure salad, and my beloved vegan miso slaw.
I came back to my aunt’s casa, said my “see ya later”s and got on the road back to Valdizzy.
I’m about to pick up Viesa from the kennel and head to the base gym, but before I go…
a GIVEAWAY from Ani Phyo!
I had the pleasure of meeting Ani while I was at 105degrees– not only is she totally gorgeous, but she’s also kind and personable.
This giveaway is extra exciting because I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this cookbook since last year.
Ani’s Raw Food Essentials: Recipes and Techniques for Mastering the Art of Live Food
I LOVE Ani’s Phyo’s recipes. They’re simple and many don’t require fancy gadgets, like dehydrators, spiralizers, mandonlines, etc.
Also, they’re DELICIOUS 😀
This cookbook includes 250 recipes and is a perfect uncookbook for beginning chefs and masters of the kitchen.
Recipes include:
- Broccoli-Cheddar Quiche

Ready… set… go!

Gina
I like Emeril for entertainment, Nigella Lawson for how amazing everything looks, and all the chefs on Iron Chef since they are completely amazing.
Looks like you had a good little getaway!! My favorite chef would probably be Giada for sure!
My favourite chef is Matteo Paonessa at a restaurant called Blacktree in my town. His French fusion dishes are unbelievable!
My favorite chef is Jamie Oliver – I love how he runs to his garden and brings everything back to his outdoor table for prep/cooking. And any chef that’ll dress up like a big pea pod to entice kids to eat healthy is number one in my book.
I love David Keller because he really considers cooking with natural, sustainable foods. Also, he is a genius and it is my life goal to make it to his restaurant in Cali, French Laundry, before I die. For practical purposes, I love Bobby Flay because he also focuses on using fresh, in-season, sustainable ingredients in his cooking! My husband and I have never made a meal out of his cookbook, Grill It!, that we didn’t absolutely love.
my favorite chef would by far be giada! Her food is just so elegant and she comes up with fun twists on classic recipes.
I join the giada bandwagon:)
Favorite chef is Jamie Oliver, hands down. Love!
My favorite chef would have to be Kevin Rathbun, here in Atlanta. His restaurants and food are amazing!!
I think my fave chef would be Jamie Oliver as well. I love that he is trying to get people to think differently about food.
i adore bobby flay. haha. who doesn’t though?
I think I”m going with Giada as well. I love her stuff, and it’s really easy to turn her recipes into “healthy” versions
I love the classic style of Ina Garten – she’s great!
Gina I have a question for you! What would you consider the top foods for healthy, glowing skin like yours? Lately, being a girl once a month is taking a toll on my face and I am just getting frustrated! Your juice-kick seemed to help you, but I don’t have a juicer! Any suggestions?
lots of fresh food should help 🙂 fruits, salad, veggies and smoothies. laying off the dairy always helps with my skin, too
I love what Jamie Oliver is doing and the message he is sending, so I’d have to say he is my favorite chef!
This is strange, but I haven’t had cable for 2 years so the last chef I liked to watch was Rachael Ray. I just got it up and running, and am looking forward to some FN updates.
Very cool! I love Rach and Giada. And my mom, does she count?
My favorite chef? My husband, of course. Wait…does that count? 2nd choice is Giada of course!
Nigella Lawson is up there for one of my favorite chefs- her food is elegant and delicious!
Tough decision but I have to go with Giada!!
I love cooking with the Neely’s. I think its great that a married couple can cook together. Very sexy in a way!!
I love Giada DeLaurentis!
I very much enjoy Bobby Flay, and enjoy eating at his restaurants.
My favorite chef – my mother. No one cooks as well as she does. I crave her food all freakin time!
Rick Bayless is my fave chef! His restaurants here in Chicago are to die for. Upscale, incredibly fresh Mexican fare, can’t beat it!
My favorite chef is my Mom. She is not professionally trained, but I love her cooking.
My favorite chef is my mom! Even now that I’m a vegan she just veganizes all my childhood favorites for me!
Besides my mom, I would have to say John Besh. He is such a great chef, personable guy and he actually cooks at his resturants!!!
I love Giada. Her recipes always look delicious and she just seems like someone you want to hang out with.
I love Molly Wizenberg from the blog Orangette. She’s not a trained chef, but I like the way she thinks about food. I just read her book A Homemade Life and am obsessed with making her recipes.
I love Emeril! His recipes are all amazing!
I am not familiar with many chefs, but I appreciate Jamie Oliver’s focus on whole, fresh, “proper ingedients,” while preparing delicious food!
My favourite chef is Jamie Oliver. He is a really cool guy and has done wonders for the schools here in England. I have watched him for many years and has made good, healthy cooking the norm.
I love Giada DeLaurentis. I could watch her alll day!
Bobby Flay and Emeril! 🙂
Thomas Keller is my favorite chef. I often sit down with his cookbooks and just read them for fun. I love how spiritual he is about cooking. Also, I just started going raw 80% of the time for summer. Hopefully for good but I needed a goal. I need this book! 🙂
If I have to watch a chef on tv it would have to be Ellie Krieger. She makes a lot of simple but HEALTHY foods… She makes me feel like I can actually cook! 🙂
HHHHeeelllllloooo Portabella Mushroom Caps Benedict!
Cheesy, I know – but my Dad 🙂
But, real chef wise, Bobby Flay or Emeril.
Favorite chef – my hubby!
My favorite chef is my MOM! Second favorite – Bobby 🙂
My favorite chef, other than my mom, would be Julia Child or Jamie Oliver.
Duff Goldman! Charm city cakes… mm mmm gooood:)
My favorite chef? Food bloggers! I get so many great ideas from them.
My favorite chef is Ina Garten–I love that her food and her style is simple and elegant.
I ADORE Alton Brown…and Giada DeLaurentis.
How great!
I love Bobby Flay. And Rick Bayless! Citrus/Herb/Heat!!
My favorite is Giada DeLaurentis!
My favorite chef is Ani Phyo—her raw recipes are so simple and absolutely tasty!
Although not the healthiest by any means, Paula Deen makes the most delicious comfort food. It is worth watching her show to figure out some great recipes and try to adapt them to a vegan lifestyle!
oh there are so mnay, but probably Nigella Lawson and Ellie Krieger, and all the food bloggers…..
