Raw-mazing Giveaway
Hey everyone! Hope you’ve had a great day so far <3 Thank you for all of your advice regarding whether I should give running another chance. I’m still thinking it out and want to talk it over with the pilot… so we shall see 😉
So… Bikram is HOT.
(Source)
Not so much Bikram himself –my apologies if you find him seksi, he’s just not my type- but the yoga oven torture chamber. I LOVE the heat and it usually feels amazing, but this morning the air was thick, uncomfortably hot and took a lot of deep breathing to get through the 90 minutes. It was a very, very challenging class.
When it was over, I took my schweaty self to Whole Paycheck and sipped a carrot, apple, beet, ginger juice
and also got hot bar for breakfast.
Plantains, squash and zucchini, shrimp salad, Babylonian Treasure salad, and my beloved vegan miso slaw.
I came back to my aunt’s casa, said my “see ya later”s and got on the road back to Valdizzy.
I’m about to pick up Viesa from the kennel and head to the base gym, but before I go…
a GIVEAWAY from Ani Phyo!
I had the pleasure of meeting Ani while I was at 105degrees– not only is she totally gorgeous, but she’s also kind and personable.
This giveaway is extra exciting because I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this cookbook since last year.
Ani’s Raw Food Essentials: Recipes and Techniques for Mastering the Art of Live Food
I LOVE Ani’s Phyo’s recipes. They’re simple and many don’t require fancy gadgets, like dehydrators, spiralizers, mandonlines, etc.
Also, they’re DELICIOUS 😀
This cookbook includes 250 recipes and is a perfect uncookbook for beginning chefs and masters of the kitchen.
Recipes include:
- Broccoli-Cheddar Quiche
- Brazil Nut Banana Pancakes

Ready… set… go!
xoxo,
Gina
Can I say Gordon Ramsay, because he is sexy?! No? Okay well in that case it would have to be Kristen Suzanne. She’s so passionate and vibrant! And I think her Raw Heavenly Cookies are ACTUALLY the best thing I’ve ever tasted!
I love Rachael Ray and Alton Brown!
I do not have a favorite, I have several favorites. So many good chefs with so much to offer. Ani is amazing.
Alton Brown. I love how scientific “Good Eats” is – a very well done food program.
oh man, that’s a hard one! i really love Giada because she does a great mix of all things Italian in both healthy and not-so-healthy ways! plus i feel like she does encourage a really healthful lifestyle, something we can all learn from!
Does it count if I say everyone on the Food Network except Sandra Lee? I like Hungry Girl’s stuff too because of her practical recipes and tips.
Ok so I have to admit that Paula Deen is my ALL TIME favorite chef! I know that she is the butter queen but she is also a wonderful lady who started from nothing, and created a wonderful life for her self! She is family oriented and so full of life! And when i do indulge a little…which is needed every once in a while…i usually turn to miss paula =]
Ferran Adriá. no question, agree or disagree, his study of food chemistry and the amount of popularity he has brought to the study of food at the molecular level has inevitably changed the culinary world.
Bobby Flay his food always looks so good and I like all of his shows on the food network. I hope one day I can eat at one of his restaurants.
I am in love with Tom Calicio! It’s less about his cooking and more about his own deliciousness… Ahhh I could watch Top Chef for DAYS!!!! 😉
Bobby Flay baby!!!!!
Rachael Ray or Bobby Flay!!
Angelina Harney, of course! 😉
I love Sam Zien his recipes are creative and his show is hilarious and really easy to follow.
i think i love tom colicchio the best. i love how honest he is on top chef!
My favorite chef is Gena (Choosing Raw). She is so good about making recipes that are easy AND delicious!
My favorite Chef’s would have to be Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray
haha and they rhyme 🙂
I’ve been waiting for this book!!! My favorite raw food chef is def Ani or Jennifer Cornbleet and non-raw I really like Bobby Flay and Eric Ripert, mostly for the eye candy because I wouldn’t eat 75% of what those dudes cook.
Aida Mollenkamp! She’s fabulous & her cooking has cultural influences which is why I love it!
I like Masaharu Morimoto!
My favorites would have to be Heidi Swanson of 101 Cookbooks because of her philosophy on eating natural, wholesome foods. Not only are all of her recipes delicious, but I know I’m treating my body with the respect by giving it the food it deserves!
I love Paula Deen. Most of her recipes are waaay to heavy on the buttah, but she is so charming and hilarious! I also love the stories she incorporates with her recipes.
I would have to say that my favorite chef is my husband, without him We would not have food on the table. I am quickly learning how to be cooked now that we are married:)
cooked–batali
raw-sarma!
i love jamie oliver – i cook very similarly to how he does – farm to table, style. and i love his accent too 😉
my favorite celebrity chef is Mario Batali – everything I’ve made of his is amazing. and he seems like someone I’d like to hang with 🙂
As for FN, I love Morimoto, Bobby Flay and Ina Garten. Recently, I am coming to love Tal Ronnen. His new book is pretty sweet!
My favorite chef is probably Debbie Gold, she’s one of the most famous chef’s from KC and I’ve actually enjoyed her food at her restaurant!
isa chandra moskowitz, vegan genius.
I’m a big fan of Nava Atlas and her cookbooks. They’re healthful, creative, and accessible for kitchen novices like me. I don’t know if she counts as a chef though. As for food network personalities, I like Bobby Flay, Giada, and Michael Symon. 🙂
although I don’t cook anything she makes, I find the Barefoot Contessa (her show) to encompass the lifestyle and balance I wish to strive for:)
I am loving Dreena Burton’s recipes as of late, but I have to admit that even though I usually have to amend her recipes quite a bit to make them healthy enough for my liking, I love Ina Garten too 🙂
I don’t know if I have a fave chef but I like Bryant Terry and Isa Chandra Moskowitz!
Well other than the Fitnessista… I’d have to go with Rachel Ray.
Ellie Krieger. I don’t think she is an official “chef”, but she makes fantastic healthy recipes!
Anthony Bourdain – I just think he’s hysterical. But I think everything Ina Garten comes up with is amazingly delicious.
Bobby Flay and Alton Brown but I pretty much love them all on the Food Network!
My favorite chef is Giada De Laurentiis! I love watching her cooking show…she makes the most delicious looking food and is always interesting to watch!
Michael Simon is pretty amazing! I would love to eat at one of Rick Bayless’s restaurants, or Tim Love. There are too many amazing chefs out there!
Favorite Chef: ME!! haha jk. Paula Dean!!
Ellie Krieger, Ina Garten, or Giada…depends on what im in the mood to make. Julia Child too of course!
Great giveaway!! That would be a toss up for me…I love Giada’s Italian/Mediterranean dishes but I love Jamie Oliver too, not only for his style of cooking but what he’s doing with our nations schools and trying to get American to eat healthier.
Chef Ree Drummond!
Ina Garten!
my absolute favourite chef is Tom Douglas. His TRIPLE coconut cream pie is out of this world.
I will have to say Curtis Stone, because 1. he is hot. 2. He has a hot accent. 3. He is hot, with a hot accent and he can cook!
looooooooove her! jaime oliver–the cute accent and how he wants to change eating. though i do wish he was a veg-head.
Honestly, I don’t use many cookbooks (which is why I need one) so my favorite chef is the one and only Fitnessista!! (c’mon, what beats the breakfast cookie?!?!) 🙂
Ooh-Rachel Ray. Not neccesarily because of her recipe’s, but the awkwardness with which she conveys them to us through her show. I can’t take my eyes away, it’s like a train wreck! Loves it =)
Jamie Oliver! 😀 😀 😀 or Curtis Stone. Ahhhh
