Speedo Demon

Hi friends! How are you? Hope you had a lovely day so far <3

It was ROASTY TOASTY today.

photo (81)

Thank goodness I got to assist a pool class in my superhawt Speedo.

tucson 008

I just broke my “no pictures in a swimsuit” rule –but since it’s a goofy swimsuit I don’t think it counts- and the Pilot was home for lunch, cracking up at my awesome pool uniform so he snapped a pic 😉

Eats!

lunch

Teff tortilla with salmon bites, spinach and mustard, plumble and grapes

smoothie

Quinoa crisps with goat gouda melted in between and a green smoothie (almond milk, banana, protein, spinach, raw cacao powder, ice)

I’m going to change and head over to the madre’s, where the Pilot is hanging out. My madre had a surgical procedure (everything is ok, thank goodness) and now she’s making chicken parmesean for the family. I definitely get my energy levels from her 😉

See ya in the morning!

xoxo

Gina

Did you ever have to wear a goofy work uniform? I can’t wait to read the responses on this one 😀

i worked at a pet store, so the uniform was kahki pants, tan in color with pockets, and a matching tan shirt, tucked in, with a color. I looked like a zookeeper, it was brutal!!
    lovin your uniform haha

  2. Alicia @ This Organic Body on June 22, 2011 at 9:34 pm

That swimming uniform is HAWT for sure!! Pretty sure it’s 2011 and there are way better suits, maybe it’s time to look into that 😉

    • Fitnessista on June 22, 2011 at 9:36 pm

      right?! PLEASE?!?! hahaha

  3. Laura @ Backstage Pass on June 22, 2011 at 9:36 pm

Awesome uniform! You’ve got the lifeguard hat and I love how you have the brim folded up, Blossom-style 😀
I’ve had to wear some pretty ugly uniform shirts / aprons before… the worst was when I worked at a home-improvement store and every single employee had to wear a red and green Holiday apron from Nov. 1st – December 31st. Horrible!
Then, there were my promotions uniforms… let’s just say that one of the brands I represented was Jagermeister, and that there were leather Jagermeister chaps and a bright orange corset-style tank top….. umm yeah 🙂 Haha!

    • Fitnessista on June 22, 2011 at 9:36 pm

      so awesome

      • Laura @ Backstage Pass on June 22, 2011 at 9:39 pm

Also, when I was promoting Heineken we had to dress up in white satin trenchcoats and sunglasses, like we were beer spys. It was very strange, but hilarious.

  4. Laura @ Meet Virginia on June 22, 2011 at 9:38 pm

You are rockin’ that Speedo! I worked at Disney World one summer and my uniform was horrific! I worked at a “diner” so I wore a 50’s themed outfit complete with a pink and orange plaid blouse tucked into a matching long, high waited skirt. On top of that was an apron and a goofy hat. Oh, and I can’t forget the PANTY HOSE and black non-slip tennis shoes. The horror.

  5. Heather (heathers dish) on June 22, 2011 at 9:39 pm

Oh girl pool and lifeguard uniforms are the worst! I used to put my sisters lifeguard uniform on over my clothes just ti be weird…pretty goofy if I do say so myself 🙂

  6. Jenna on June 22, 2011 at 9:39 pm

This may be a dumb question… but what’s a “plumble?” I’ve never heard of it before.

    • Fitnessista on June 22, 2011 at 9:40 pm

      it’s a plum. haha

  7. Kelly @foodiefresh on June 22, 2011 at 9:47 pm

I used to be a Santa’s Helper at the mall when I was 12-15 years old, so you can imagine what that looked like. I even had to tie bells to my Keds.

    • Christy @ So I Follow the Sun on June 22, 2011 at 10:02 pm

Oh my gosh! That’s been my dream (part time) job for forever! I never knew how to go about getting it, though.

  8. Kris | iheartwellness.com on June 22, 2011 at 9:50 pm

AWww, do you run slooooooow motion across the beach in that sexy mutha??

Too cute!!! Your mom sounds like a real trooper and someone who loves her family very much!
    xxoo

I worked at Dunkin’ Donuts for a summer. Three words: permanent camel toe. Ha! It was NOT attractive. Pretty sure the pants could have doubled as a bra. And they were pretty successful at keeping the men at bay, too. 🙁

    • Fitnessista on June 23, 2011 at 10:16 am

this made me laugh so hard
      i love dunkin though 🙂

  10. Erin on June 22, 2011 at 9:55 pm

I had to wear a hard helmet, hair net, cooler coat, and cooler frock (looks like a lab coat) for my last job with the USDA. Most unflattering outfit EVER. The only nice thing was I got to wear jeans and t-shirts underneath.

  11. Elizabeth on June 22, 2011 at 10:02 pm

GIRL, my first job was as a CLOWN for a real estate company holding a sign. The good part was the costume and makeup completely obscured me and I got to dance around to disco all day.

The bad thing was: someone I went to school with still managed to recognize me. :-\

  12. Christy @ So I Follow the Sun on June 22, 2011 at 10:05 pm

I was a waitress as a summer resort that served inside and outside. Our uniform was the most horrendous maroon colored polo that was the most unflattering shapeless rectangle. The worst part was it was made out of the thickest cotton ever!
Then there was the uniform for weddings… there was a bow tie involved and a very see-through short-sleeved white button-up shirt. I once made the mistake of wearing a bright pink cami under the shirt.

  13. Ashlee on June 22, 2011 at 10:10 pm

This kind of goes with the uniform theme discussion: My husband’s job is pretty laid back with attire so he usually wears khakis and a polo. It never seems to fail that the days he wears a red polo we go to Target. He will get asked by a dozen people where to find a certain item because he is dressed like all the employees.

  14. Ashley @ the fit academic on June 22, 2011 at 10:13 pm

Wow – surgery AND baking in the same day? Super woman! Glad you’re mom is okay!

    • Sonia the Mexigarian on June 23, 2011 at 12:14 am

i was hinking the exact same thing. somebody should be making her the chicken parm 😀

  15. Stephanie @cookinfanatic on June 22, 2011 at 10:16 pm

Holy hottttt 110 degrees?!?! I see we drive the same car too – hello bmw 🙂 I need to get my hands on those salmon bites, they sound scrumptious!

  16. Jackie @ MomJovi on June 22, 2011 at 10:20 pm

First of all, your “goofy” uniform is adorable. LOVE the hat!

I’ve been lucky to have not one, but two amazing work uniform situations.

In high school, I worked at Red Robin restaurant and one more than one occasion, I drew the short straw and had to dress up as the Red Robin chicken (or I guess robin … but it looked more like the Big Red Chicken from Dora. You’ll get to know him soon enough).

And then I was a waitress for years at Friday’s during the flair heyday. Oh, and I rocked that flair like no one’s business, right down to my straw hat and pigtails I wore every night!

  17. Anita on June 22, 2011 at 10:24 pm

hahah oh gosh. I worked for the local gym for a while and had some pretty adorable 90’s track pants to rock. We all have our moments! 🙂

  18. Jess on June 22, 2011 at 10:27 pm

Oh, heredity. When I read about your mother cooking just hours after surgery, I thought of my mom, who would totally do the same. I’ve definitely been known to spend a should-be-in-bed day to cook.

  19. krista on June 22, 2011 at 10:33 pm

I worked for McDonalds and had to be Grimace!! The big purple guy!! I used to take me breaks in the freezer the suit was so hot.

    • Sheena on June 23, 2011 at 12:11 am

Although I did like the Hamburgler, Grimace was my FAVORITE. McDonalds should bring him back!

  20. Laura (Cookies vs. Carrots) on June 22, 2011 at 10:34 pm

You look great! I’ve never had to wear anything quite as goofy as a speedo for work, but a few dorky uniforms along the way. We’ve all been there, haha!

  21. Jessica @ brighteyesandbushytales on June 22, 2011 at 10:35 pm

I worked as a catering waitress through high school and I had to wear tuxedo pants, a tuxedo shirt, and a bow tie. Yeeeaahhhh. 🙂

  22. Brandi @ The Vitamin Bee on June 22, 2011 at 10:36 pm

    You look cute! 🙂

I worked at American Apparel on Ocean Drive in South Beach. We were required to wear the merchandise and let me just say that I’ve spent 10 hour shifts in an itsy bitsy bikini, micro shorts, shiny sparkly high waisted hot pants and silver leggings, and everything in between. It definitely made for interesting work!

My other least favorite uniform was my Cold Stone Creamery shorts and apron. I constantly smelled like milk and cinnamon and it was impossible to get the scent out of my clothes! I’m getting a little nauseous just thinking about it…it kinda ruined ice cream for me!

  23. Mac on June 22, 2011 at 10:44 pm

For work one day, during out Turkey Trot 5K promotion time, I walked around in a giant turkey costume… super hot, but kind of fun actually lol

  24. char @ char on a mission on June 22, 2011 at 10:50 pm

I look horrible in red, but I swear it’s always what colour my uniform is. It’s like they know or something haha

  25. Lindsay Loves Veggies on June 22, 2011 at 11:04 pm

I hate my work uniform! Honestly, it’s not that bad, just nice black pants, black shoes, black apron, and a white short-sleeve button-up with our logo on it. That plus a hairnet. And no perfume. And no nailpolish, not even clear. Darn hospital food policies! 🙂

  26. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga on June 22, 2011 at 11:05 pm

Omg you POOR thing in that heat!! the summer I was pregnant (spent my first trimester over the summer, had an early Feb due date so was at the height of being sick june-july-august) but we lived in a 1920s mission revival house here in San Diego…with NO a/c!!! And it broke records that summer. I went to Starbucks and the movie theaters just to get inside air!

You look cute in your suit and hat and I have had to wear some work outfits that are totally laugh-worthy..ahh, memories.

  27. Sarah @TheExPat Bride on June 22, 2011 at 11:11 pm

Wow is that the temperature outside!?!?!! We went to Universal studios for my sister’s birthday today and I though I was going to die with 97F.

And this may be a stupid question, but what’s a plumble?

Hope your mom is back to normal soon, I’m sure you’ll give you lots of lovin <3

    • Fitnessista on June 23, 2011 at 10:15 am

      yes, it was 110 yesterday!
      plumble = plum 🙂

  28. Tracey @ Oliver Rain on June 22, 2011 at 11:22 pm

Oh yes I did wear an awkward uniform. I worked at a restaurant that made us wear “little house on the prairie” aprons everyday. It was floral and long with lots of ruffles and it was completely unattractive.

  29. Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] on June 22, 2011 at 11:33 pm

Sorry if you’ve already addressed this, but where do you buy the quinoa crisps? 🙂

    pulease!! you always look HAWT!

  33. Sonia the Mexigarian on June 23, 2011 at 12:22 am

i worked at Target and Petsmart. At Target we had to wear khaki pants with a red shirt of our choice and pretty much the same at Petsmart but we had to wear the company shirt. it wasn’t too bad, but then I also worked at Hot Topic for a iwnter season. Now that was fun. Stressul, because I felt like I had to costume up since I was pretty plain looking (by HT standards) I mean, my hair was all one natural color! Lol. But it was fun because my inner goth punk came out. 😀 Bondage pants were my favorite to wear.

  34. Kristin on June 23, 2011 at 12:39 am

I feel ya on the heat, it was 115 degrees today in good old Phoenix, thank goodness I’m heading north tomorrow for a reprieve. Hope the pregnancy goes well during the summer, I always feel bad for pregnant women that endure the blistering heat, can’t be fun 🙁 The goofy swimsuit didn’t look that bad, I think us women are to self-conscience about swim wear sometimes (I’m totally guilty too).

  35. Amy M on June 23, 2011 at 1:00 am

I think you look cute.. Very Baywatchy babe.. 😉

My first job was Burger King so of course the very ill fitting uniform pants. And in Air Force basic training they gave me a bit of too small of a PT uniform so I at least felt I looked darn goofy! LOL

  36. Ali (urbanfruitbat) on June 23, 2011 at 1:50 am

Aw,I think you look sweet! You are just an adorable person. I have never really had to wear anything to goofy for work, at my current job, a living foods kitchen, I have to sport an awesome white hair net! Sexy times

  39. ellalinea on June 23, 2011 at 6:56 am

As a model; I something have to wear the craziest outfits!

    – I was dressed as a circus artist once
    – I was dressed as a farmer’s girls and had to run into a field with sheep al over ( they are scary! 😉 ), and so on..

Sometimes I get to wear the cutest outfits but sometimes.. if the designer is really crazy.. I don’t even dare to look in the mirrow 😉

  40. ellalinea on June 23, 2011 at 6:58 am

something = sometimes I need to wake up haha! 🙂

  41. Lisa on June 23, 2011 at 7:03 am

For my last wellness coaching job I had to wear an orange polo shirt and khakis…wasn’t so bad itself, except I wore it everyday for two years. When I quit, I chopped up the shirts and scrubbed the bathroom with them…

I also had to wear an apron thingy when I worked in a grocery store at 16. It looked like something a lunch lady would wear, except it was bright green.

    Things are much better now…

  42. Yolie @ Practising Wellness on June 23, 2011 at 7:29 am

Your eats always look sooo delicious – you make such amazing packed lunches! I’m afraid I’ve never had a goofy uniform yet, I feel left out, lol! 😛 Wishing you Mum a very speedy recovery from her procedure, so glad she is doing well and feeling good! 🙂 xyx

  43. Amelia on June 23, 2011 at 8:04 am

    Haha, what a “fashionable” swimsuit.

I’m loving ice cold grapes right now (and watermelon) considering how hot it is here as well. My car read 104 yesterday in Charleston. Outside = instant sweat and wondering why I took a shower?!

  44. Joelle on June 23, 2011 at 8:05 am

Never had to wear anything goofy but last year when I started at my new job I had to work halloween night and they owner told us we could wear halloween costumes if we wanted to, I regret I didn’t. I certainly will this year!!

  45. Faith on June 23, 2011 at 8:05 am

Oh geeze, I’ll never forget working at Party City during Halloween time and having to wear a clown costume…oh the humiliating things we do for crappy part-time jobs!

  46. Violet on June 23, 2011 at 8:29 am

I bet the outfit looked good one you stand another way! Just wondering, did you buy your car used or new? Cuz dang girl, you be putting some miles on that car since u bought it. Also, you need gas 🙂

    • Fitnessista on June 23, 2011 at 10:13 am

it was a used car- we never buy new. and the car wasn’t on- i had 200 miles left before i needed gas yesterday

  47. Mo on June 23, 2011 at 8:32 am

The hat makes that suit work! Your mom sounds like a trooper – she had the surgery and she’s doing the cooking! I just might trade you weather for a day – 50’s and 60’s here with nothing but rain. I worked for a pizza joint (Little Caesars) during my high school years – and I was the only one to fit into the mascot uniform – so I had to walk the local parade as Little Caesar. I had to have an escort because I couldn’t see a thing! Yes, there are photos to prove it. Now THAT was embarrassing! Take care my dear! Hey to Pilot and Puppy.

  48. Heather B on June 23, 2011 at 8:58 am

Oh man. Goofy work uniforms. I worked at a golf course for a year. The winter uniform? Plus fours and a polo with the worst ever argyle socks. (The socks weren’t too bad, but the quality was crap and they got holes in them after two or three wears.) It might not have been too bad, but it was always freezing in the pro shop and plus fours aren’t exactly known for being warm.

    Mismatch Day
    Costumes…
It was amusing, to say the least!
