Thank you so much for the amazing response to the first workout! I’m so happy you’re enjoying it 🙂 I did workout 1 for the first time a few weeks ago and it killed me in the best way possible. Hope you feel the same way. If you’re just finding out about Summer Shape Up, no worries, it is never too late to sign up! Check out the intro post here, and then leave a comment in any post being sure to click the box to sign up for my newsletter. The password for the first week’s workout and meal ideas will be emailed to you automatically after you sign up. 🙂

When I first started my weight loss journey, I quickly realized that it was not worth it to spend money on clothes during that time. I’d go buy an outfit for work, and it would be too big before I could wear it. It may seem like a “problem that’s not really a problem,” but clothes can be costly, and it’s a waste if you don’t get to wear them. I halted the clothing purchases since I knew my size would be temporary until I reached a healthier weight. Since then, I’ve always told my training clients to minimize clothing expenses while we’re working together, and instead to use a clothes shopping spree as an awesome reward when they hit their goal.

Many of you will hit new fitness goals with the Summer Shape Up. Even if the scale doesn’t budge -muscle is more dense than fat, so you could technically weigh the same and have a lower body fat percentage- your clothes could fit you differently. Maybe you just hit a fitness goal and want to celebrate, or could use a bit of a closet overhaul.

I’d like to share my Stitch Fix credit with a few lucky winners as the first Shape Up giveaway.

Stitchfix

I have a credit with Stitch Fix from referring people to the brand over the past 6 months or so. At first, I thought it would be cool to get a discount on what I purchase from them since I love my monthly Stitch Fix box, and the credit continued to grow. I was trying to think of a good way to use it and quickly thought of the perfect solution: give back to YOU, since you’re the reason why I have a credit with them in the first place.

I emailed Stitch Fix to see if it would be possible to do a giveaway and they more than happy to help me set it up.

Today’s giveaway is $3500 of Stitch Fix credit: $500 each to seven lucky winners. That’s a lot of new clothes!

Wow this would be great. I’ve lost 45 lbs since having my daughter in April 2012, and still have about 10 more pounds I would like to lose. Which means I’ll be smaller then I was when I got pregnant and I’ll need some new clothes to fit. Hope I win!!!

  2. Daniela on June 3, 2013 at 1:09 pm

I would love to try Stich fix! I’m a recent college grad and it would be a fantastic opportunity to update my wardrobe 🙂

  3. Kathrine on June 3, 2013 at 1:09 pm

I would LOVE to win a stitch fix!!! I have clothes in my closet that date back to high school! My weight has fluctuated so much over the past 8 years after many diets and 3 pregnancies! I totally fell into mommy mode and didn’t focus on myself. My wardrobe consists of 3 different sized and all comfy clothes, tees or jeans! Could really really really use a revamp!!! LOVE your blog!

  4. Jodi on June 3, 2013 at 1:09 pm

My daughter was born in November of 2011 and none of my clothes have fit the same since I got pregnant. I suppose part of it is that my style has changed due to comfort and ease of breastfeeding taking priority, but I really miss feeling somewhat decent in my clothes. I’ve been in the process of opening a pediatric dental office and haven’t had the time or the $ to put into clothes. Even if I did, I am pretty “style stupid” lately so Stitch Fix would be perfect!

  5. Kalynn on June 3, 2013 at 1:10 pm

I’ve loved everything you’ve posted from Stitch Fix! It’d be awesome to win!

  6. Sydney on June 3, 2013 at 1:10 pm

The first workout was GREAT — very challenging but not overly so. I’m so excited to continue!

  7. Tracy on June 3, 2013 at 1:12 pm

I would love to win because I desperately need new clothes but HATE to shop. Can you believe it??

  8. Julie on June 3, 2013 at 1:12 pm

Gina, this giveaway is so kind of you! I would LOVE to try StitchFix! I have a terrible time putting outfits together at the store, but I definitely know what I like & don’t like. If I could just fill out a questionairre & have outfits put together for me, I would be in heaven!

  9. Tiffany K. on June 3, 2013 at 1:13 pm

Workout one this morning was no joke!!! But it got me energized for the upcoming week and so excited for the rest of SSU too. Thanks Gina for putting this together for being a constant source of motivation and inspiration!

  10. Taylor on June 3, 2013 at 1:14 pm

Wow- what an amazing give away! New clothes would be so helpful. In college, you wear t-shirts and gym shorts every day, but in the working world you have to actually get DRESSED. I wear the same outfits all the time- it would be awesome to have some variety!

  11. Kristen cm on June 3, 2013 at 1:15 pm

I would love to win…I need a new post baby wardrobe

  12. Allison on June 3, 2013 at 1:16 pm

Did my workout 1 + HITT this morning bright and early before my kids were up and it felt great to have it done!

  13. Andrea on June 3, 2013 at 1:18 pm

You and the Fitnessista blog have been my “go to” for all things healthy living. Prior to becoming pregnant, I followed your blog to become ” strong” and not overly focus on “skinny”. Then, I became pregnant and used your testimonies for educational and encouragement purposes. After gaining nearly 60 pounds and delivering 9 lb baby (yikes!), healthy was still my lifestyle but I wasn’t as motivated as I could’ve been. I’m proud to say that many of your recipes and workouts ( including the shape-ups) have helped me lose those 60lbs and then some (an active toddler may have helped along the way, too 😉
Anyhoo, I keep telling myself that a new wardrobe would be sooo rewarding, but that momma instinct in me tells me to spend the $$ elsewhere. Thanks for this opportunity, Gina!

  14. Shelly on June 3, 2013 at 1:19 pm

I did workout 1 and HIIT this morning and it was hard!! I have been doing 30 min bootcamp over the last few months and this is a great change to that routine.

  15. Ally on June 3, 2013 at 1:20 pm

I ended up losing quite a bit of body fat after starting crossfit and virtually nothing in my closet fits anymore 🙁

  16. Cassie Vaughn on June 3, 2013 at 1:20 pm

Some new, personalized clothes would be awesome! Also not having to go to a clothing store would be awesome. I’m not a big shopper.

  17. vivian on June 3, 2013 at 1:20 pm

I need new clothes but I’m broke.I hope I win!

  18. Summer on June 3, 2013 at 1:20 pm

I have the worst style and haven’t bought “new” clothes in months. I would love to try out Stitch Fix because I’m in need of clothes with a bit more style!

  19. Molly Petsch on June 3, 2013 at 1:21 pm

As a first time, stay at home mom, I find myself in workout clothes most days. While this is comfortable and convenient, sometimes I’d just like to wear something a little nicer for our adventures out if the house! I’m sure you totally understand this! Here’s hoping I can get a few new, nice pieces.

  20. Lauren on June 3, 2013 at 1:22 pm

I’m planning on completing the first workout tonight! Super excited and looking forward to having you as my “virtual trainer”!!

  21. Danica @ It's Progression on June 3, 2013 at 1:22 pm

I did Workout 1 this morning and thought it was great! It definitely got my heart rate up and made me sweat 🙂
Also, I’d absolutely love to win this giveaway…I cleaned out my closet last week and donated several garbage bags full of clothes because they no longer fit (too big!). I’m at a healthy place now and ready to shop for some flattering clothes!

  22. Deb on June 3, 2013 at 1:23 pm

I would love to try out stitch fix! I’ve been pretty much exclusively buying 2nd hand clothes for the last 2 years after loosing weight and being worried that I will just grow or shrink out of anything I buy. And the real important reason–I could use the help in making a few good outfits. Ha! Thanks for the giveaway!

  23. Danica @ It's Progression on June 3, 2013 at 1:23 pm

I just pinned the picture from the intro post!

  24. megs on June 3, 2013 at 1:25 pm

Work out 1 this morning was great- just what i needed to get motivated. I do a much better job when I have ‘instructions’ than when I make up my own workout!
I would love to win stichfix credit because I have a really hard time convincing myself to spend money on clothes- there is always something that feels more needed- and my current clothes are falling apart. Plus new stuff that fits well is always such a confidence boost!

  25. jess j on June 3, 2013 at 1:25 pm

i would love to win new clothes! (who wouldnt?!) workout one is no joke- but it killed so good! thanks!

  26. Rebecca on June 3, 2013 at 1:25 pm

I’d LOVE to win this! my wardrobe is in a sad state, made worse because i live in nyc and i’d like to at least pretend to be stylish ;).

  27. Kristen B on June 3, 2013 at 1:25 pm

I just got my first “fix” a few weeks ago and loved it! I’m hoping to schedule more in the future and would love to have a credit to put towards it.

  28. Laura on June 3, 2013 at 1:26 pm

I’d love to win! Dressing myself is always a challenge and I am never totally confident in my choices. I’m looking forward to doing the first SSU workout tonight after we put the baby to bed!

  29. Brittany on June 3, 2013 at 1:26 pm

Absolutely Love your blog, been reading for several years now, you are such an inspiration! Been wanting to try stitch fix since you started talking about it, sadly the starving artist/student budget doesn’t really allow it =/

  30. Katie on June 3, 2013 at 1:26 pm

I would love a stitch fix credit! I am slowly replacing my old college wardrobe that is no longer appropriate for someone working an office job, and my budget is limited. Really looking forward to summer shape up. Thanks Gina!

  31. Laura on June 3, 2013 at 1:26 pm

Also, I am already subscribed the YouTube challenge with you and Sasha.

  32. Emily H on June 3, 2013 at 1:27 pm

I would love to win because I recently lost about 15lbs to put my body at a healthy, happy weight. Now that I’m at a weight I am completely comfortable with (not overweight or underweight) I have really been focusing on trying to invest in quality clothing vs. quantity. Unfortunately, that is a slow process when you’re on a tight budget! Winning a Stitchfix credit would really help me in purchasing quality items that make me feel great in my new bod! As always, thanks for the giveaway and the continuous encouragement to live a healthy lifestyle!

  33. Sara N on June 3, 2013 at 1:27 pm

I would love to try it, what a treat to have someone choose clothes for you!

  34. Allison on June 3, 2013 at 1:28 pm

There aren’t many places to shop where I live, so Stitch Fix is especially fun for me. I’d also like to have some new clothes as a motivation to get through a few weeks of hard workouts!

  35. Danielle on June 3, 2013 at 1:29 pm

Not wanting to spend a lot of money on clothes until this post-baby body can get back in shape!

  36. Chrystal on June 3, 2013 at 1:29 pm

Would love to win the Stitch Fix credit! My summer wardrobe is seriously lacking some pizzazz. Help me learn to love shorts and skirts!

  37. Jessica on June 3, 2013 at 1:30 pm

I would love to win this giveaway because I LOVE clothes and fashion. Sometimes, though, I end up sticking to the same exact stores and brands. If someone sent me some items out of the box, I think I would end up trying them out and loving them. When I take chances on different things, it usually ends up working out. I would love to try this site!!!!

  38. tessa on June 3, 2013 at 1:30 pm

i’d love to win some cute, new summer clothes!

  39. Shelby on June 3, 2013 at 1:30 pm

I’m in the middle of a weight loss journey, so I would love to win as a shopping spree reward for reaching my goal! Summer shape up is keeping me motivated!

  40. Katie B. on June 3, 2013 at 1:31 pm

I would SO love to win! I just graduated from my masters program in fashion studies at Parson’s School of Design in NYC and have been applying to work at Stitch Fix in my hometown of San Francisco for months. It’s my dream to work at a fashion start-up like them! Unfortunately, I just broke my neck and am housebound for the next 3 months 🙁 it would mean so much to win a new wardrobe from them!

  41. Liz on June 3, 2013 at 1:32 pm

I would LOVE this because I lack the stereotypical girl shopping gene. I hate to shop in real stores! But I LOVE getting new clothes!

  42. Elise on June 3, 2013 at 1:35 pm

I would love to win! I just started a new job and, though it has compromised my workout time, I try to make an effort to do as much as possible throughout the day, which has been a fun, new challenge for me and forces me to be creative (though silly looking at times)!

  43. Jordan K on June 3, 2013 at 1:37 pm

I’ve recently been struggling with car issues, so I’ve had no extra money to spend on some new spring/summer outfits. I’d love to win the StitchFix giveaway and get some much needed new clothes!

  44. Lindsey A on June 3, 2013 at 1:37 pm

Love to treat myself to new clothing/accessories for accomplishing a goal. Also really enjoy Stitch Fix and finding the surprises in the mail after a hard day of work!

  45. Amanda on June 3, 2013 at 1:38 pm

Workout 1 is finito! Awe-some sweatfest!! Thanks so much for the burn Gina!

  46. Marissa on June 3, 2013 at 1:38 pm

What an awesome contest! I would love to win a $500 credit to Stitch Fix because I am a busy mom to twin one-year-olds and never have time to shop for ME!

  47. Lindsey G. on June 3, 2013 at 1:38 pm

I have been on vacation the past 9 days so today’s workout was the perfect kick in the booty to get back on the workout wagon!

  48. Melissa on June 3, 2013 at 1:39 pm

Thank you for the chance to win.

I’d love to win because I’m working to get myself out of debt and that means no new clothing purchases for a good while (unless gifted from others).

  49. Joana on June 3, 2013 at 1:39 pm

loved all the clothes you´ve been showing from them. would love some myself! 🙂
