Week of giveaways: Final Giveaway- ENDED

This week has been pretty much amazeballs. Thank you again to everyone for participating, sending blog love, and for your kind and wonderful comments. I’m truly lucky to *know* all of you, and am also grateful to the companies who generously sponsored the week of giveaways.

Breakfast cookie2

Congratulations to the Home Goods giveaway winner!

Mary:

“I LOVE the poppy flower wall decals in my kitchen. They do a great job brightening up the space.”

Please send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject: HOME GOODS WINNER!) and I’ll get your prize on the way 🙂

Today’s giveaway, the final one, is sponsored by one of my all-time favorite workout companies, along with Livi and Bella.

I fell in love with Physique 57 two years ago, and if we had a studio in Tucson, it would be one of my regular workout spots. Nothing has made my thighs thighs and biscuits burn quite like P57. I’m so glad they have DVDs you can do at home if you don’t have a studio near you, and I’ve done the DVDs quite a few times in addition to the usual workout suspects. I see and feel a huge difference when I have P57 in my life, and anytime I’m in NY or LA I’m excited to take a live class.

The winner of this giveaway will receive a volume 2 Physique 57 DVD, courtesy of Physique 57,

NewImage

and will also win a Polar FT40 heart rate monitor, which I’ll order for you,

NewImage

plus a batch of custom macaroons (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon with cacao nibs and goji berries, or Meyer-lemon lavender)

NewImage

and whatever Whole Foods/TJs goodies find their way into the box 😉

I absolutely love my Polar heart rate monitor and wear it for all of my high-intensity workouts. Since I know how much I’m burning, I can get an idea of how much more I need to eat that day, and I always push myself a little harder when I can see how hard I’m working. It’s a fantastic workout tool and was even more helpful while I was pregnant, so I knew not to let my heart rate get too crazy high.

-With the Summer Shape Up beginning this week, this giveaway will end on FRIDAY, 6/15.

This giveaway has ended! Congratulations to the winner, Natalie.

This is my favorite giveaway so far the DVDs and the polar monitor are some things I have wanted for a very long time but I could never afford them on my own! There are sooo many reasons I have been reading this blog for the past four years but mainly because you offer so much variety! I love the Focus On post, they may be my favorite and I go back to them frequently whenever I’m deciding to try a new fitness class or DVD. I’m only 21 but I love the family post because I take of a baby full time, and you have been very helpful! I would like to see more videos! Things like how to’s (more hair ideas please!) , product reviews, fitness challenges/ quick workout videos. Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much to all of you for your amazing feedback, comments and sweet wishes. I’m so fortunate to have you in my life, and stay tuned for many more giveaways!

Thank you all so much for reading my little blog and for hanging out with me over here <3

Here’s to another amazing year!

xoxo

Your blog is one of my favorites! I love your “Focus On” posts, and I’d like to see more product reviews!

  2. Nicole F. on June 12, 2012 at 9:54 pm

I love all your strength/circuit workouts! They are always a good balance of booty-kicking and perfect for both small apartment workouts or the gym. If you could make them more printer-friendly, that would be my only suggestion. For some reason when I copy and paste them, sometimes the tables do not transcend well and become all jumbled. But otherwise, I happily visit your blog at least once a day on my work break : ) I love reading about your meal ideas, snacks (egg puffs are on heavy rotation in my home), and your family : )

  3. melinda h. on June 12, 2012 at 10:03 pm

I’ve been following your blog for a super long time and to be honest I find that I love all of your family posts the best anymore 🙂 After a while its nice to see inside each bloggers life and watch them achieve new goals and grow.

  4. Mallory on June 12, 2012 at 10:05 pm

I would do strength training over cardio any day, so I’d love to see more strength training workouts! The “Focus On…” posts are also great. I like it all 🙂

I really enjoy reading your blog. I’d love to read/hear more tips for fitness professionals just getting started. I just got my GFI certification, but I don’t really know how to get started from there. I know you have some posts on personal training, but I’m more interested in the group fitness aspect. Perhaps some trainings that you feel are more worthwhile than others, etc.

  6. Christina on June 13, 2012 at 12:56 am

I really enjoy the focus on posts, and anything you write about Zumba!

  7. Alicia @ Treble Tart on June 13, 2012 at 6:57 am

I love your blog! The Focus On posts are really great, and I also really enjoy all of the recipes you share. Plus Summer Shape-Up, of course!! 😉 I would love to see some more workouts that don’t require any equipment!

I pinned one of your recipes! http://pinterest.com/pin/265360603014424546/

I love your positive attitude most of all! Your posts always put me in a good mood.

I’d love to see more videos of you teaching Zumba! I’ve thought about looking into being certified, so I’m constantly searching youtube for fabulous new routines.

Just saw the end date on this was later than I thought – missed a lot of last week due to business travel – so belated happy blogiversary!!
I do love your ability to switch things up! I appreciate the links to fitness-related news stories, workout song suggestions, new moves and recipes!
I guess one thing that may be interesting, is that we know you make sure to consume enough on days you teach many classes as evidenced by your photos! But wanted to know if you could provide a breakdown of what you are eating and at what point in your day? What is best pre or post-workout/class teaching and if that affects how you plan dinner, etc.
Also, I know you don’t have dinner parties quite like how you used to – but IF you do have anything planned coming up, I loved your plan of action going into the parties… what you prepare 3 or 1 day ahead and etc.

Thanks Gina!!!! Much love to you and your family : )

I love your blog and wouldn’t change anything! I’ve noticed a lot of blogs I read have been getting more and more into giveaways and sponsored posts, which I understand and respect from a professional (monetary) standpoint, but I really appreciate that I’ve never felt that way about your blog. I know it’s kind of ironic to say this during your week of giveaways but I think it’s awesome for you to celebrate your blog this way. Im just glad it’s not a constant thing! 🙂

  12. Jennifer on June 13, 2012 at 11:13 am

Hi Gina. I LOVE your blog. I read it at least once every day. I love how you have a mix of fitness, healthy eating, family and fashion. I get a lottle dose of what I need every day. I am also gluten and dairy free and live by the same food philosphy as you, so I find your tips and recipes invaluable 🙂 I am also a part time fitness instructor so I love hearing and reading about your fitness stories and of course all the great exercises you post. I am recently engaged so I enjoy reading your family posts, it makes me look forward to having our own little family. I would love to be able to search your blog for certain keywords, so that if I’m looking for something in particular it’s easy to find. Thanks for all your great info, I look forward to visiting the blog every day 🙂

  13. Denise P. on June 13, 2012 at 11:44 am

I like that your posts run the gammat – fitness, food, fashion and family. I’m also a fan of the Focus On posts, but I assume you can only do so many unless new fitness crazes pop up.

    • Fitnessista on June 13, 2012 at 12:05 pm

yeah i’m kind of out of focus on post ideas :/

  14. Bliss on June 13, 2012 at 11:51 am

I’d love to see posts on how you balance work/family/working out. And keep up the baby photos, she’s way too cute! Also, I love your recipes – they’re always so quick & easy, healthy, and tasty! I still make your horchata regularly throughout the summer. Maybe some more Indian-inspired and/or Mexican recipes?

  15. Destini on June 13, 2012 at 11:57 am

I love your blog and have been a reader for well over a year now. I love that you are open and share. You have helped me decide on many things! I also send posts to my recently pregnant friend of products and things you went through that she is too.

Keep up all the amazing work!

  16. Bliss on June 13, 2012 at 11:58 am

Pinned your breakfast cookie dough cereal – my husband and I eat this for almost every breakfast in the summer! So good, and so much protein to start the day right!

Tagged you on facebook as an activity!

    I love that watch!

I like the addition of the family page and all the updates – I’m not a mom yet, never really thought I wanted kids until I started seeing/reading about all the joys.
Would love more music, your suggestions always make me dance.

  20. Veronica Saukam on June 13, 2012 at 1:10 pm

I was introduced to your site by a friend who has been following you for quite some time. We’ve decided to do your summer shape up together and it’s been fun planning workout times and going over the menu. It’s only day 3 of summer shapeup but I have to say the recipes have been absolutely delicious! I’ve been keeping track of the calories in sparkpeople and was surprised that I haven’t been going over my allotted amount per day. (surprised because there seemed to be alot of food and snacks and no way to be hungry!!!) I loved that you included a video of the workout moves. It was very helpful to have your visual cues in my mind to keep my form on point. Your site is great the way it is and I have no idea how you keep up with a little one, work, hubby, dog, and the blog! That being said, I doubt you have time in that busy schedule of yours, but have you given any thought to spotify playlists for workout music? Just a thought (^_^). I wish you all the best and hope to see many, many more post in the years to come! Thanks!

  21. Faith on June 13, 2012 at 2:03 pm

I enjoy seeing the playlists you use for workouts. It is very helpful since music is so motivating to get me through a workout!

I love the family posts. We just had a baby and I am always interested in other mother’s experiences!

  25. Kathleen on June 13, 2012 at 3:30 pm

I am so excited for the summer shape up. I can’t wait to get started (I’m a little behind due to vacay). I love everything about your blog, especially the family posts. I like that you have different categories to keep things separate. My only suggestion would be to make recipe’s printable.

  26. Christine on June 13, 2012 at 3:39 pm

I think if most blogs asked for feedback, I’d have a lot to say but with yours, I absolutely love everything. I think you write well, photograph well, post consistently, have great content, don’t seem like an advertisement for products, and stay true to who you are. I think you genuinely want to help people with their health through fitness and healthy eating and not just make money through blogging. I love your blog and wouldn’t change a thing. Maybe a little more Bella because I can’t get enough 🙂 best to you and your family. thanks for all the giveaways! you treat your readers well.

  27. Christine on June 13, 2012 at 3:41 pm

oh, I also pinned your perfect protein pancakes (http://pinterest.com/pin/281967626640416482/)

    tweeted, too 🙂 @heartshapedgirl

    thanks again for the giveaway!

  29. Alexis on June 13, 2012 at 3:55 pm

Loving the printable charts for workouts, much easier than my previous process of writing everything on a sticky note and trying to keep it stuck to the back of my iPod while working out! 😉

And, while I always kept up on the fashion page when you were the sole contributor, I really enjoy reading Meg’s posts, as well.

I love your blog. You have such a great personality and positive attitude; this makes me excited/happy to read. I truly enjoy your personal food and workout post (what you eat daily and your workout routines). I would like to see more detail in these areas. Like when you are eating a salad beast listing everything that is in it. I find it inspiring and motivating too know what a “regular” person like me balances life, health and fitness.

  31. Kendal A on June 13, 2012 at 6:04 pm

I thought this had closed, but I was SOOO excited to see that I could still enter!! I would absolutely LOVE, LOVE, this gift (and the macaroons would be delicious after a hard workout)! In one of your blogs you mentioned turbo fire, so I researched it and then went out on a limb and ordered it. I love turbo fire and the sweat it brings you! One of the best things you have mentioned so far. I really enjoy the fitness tips you have, and the food posts are fantastic. I have tried so many of your recipes (cool ranch kale, macaroons, perfect protein pancakes, lentil loaf, and the list goes on!) and they are all SOOO delicious. I really enjoy how you post photos with the recipes — its helpful to see what the finished project should look like.
Overall, I have no complaints in your blog- I love checking you blog every morning for new food recipes, seeing your adventures, and learning new fitness tips that I can incorporate into my own routine! I appreciate the time you take to write this blog, please keep it up because I LOVE it!

I absolutely love your blog! I find myself referencing it all the time for recipes, workout moves, etc! 🙂 I don’t know if there’s anything else that could possibly make it better- but my favorite is meat- free, healthy recipes and snacks… I suppose if there were more of a good thing, that would be perfect! 🙂 awesome giveaway!
