Week of giveaways: Final Giveaway- ENDED

This week has been pretty much amazeballs. Thank you again to everyone for participating, sending blog love, and for your kind and wonderful comments. I’m truly lucky to *know* all of you, and am also grateful to the companies who generously sponsored the week of giveaways.

Congratulations to the Home Goods giveaway winner!

Mary:

“I LOVE the poppy flower wall decals in my kitchen. They do a great job brightening up the space.”

Please send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject: HOME GOODS WINNER!) and I’ll get your prize on the way 🙂

Today’s giveaway, the final one, is sponsored by one of my all-time favorite workout companies, along with Livi and Bella.

I fell in love with Physique 57 two years ago, and if we had a studio in Tucson, it would be one of my regular workout spots. Nothing has made my thighs thighs and biscuits burn quite like P57. I’m so glad they have DVDs you can do at home if you don’t have a studio near you, and I’ve done the DVDs quite a few times in addition to the usual workout suspects. I see and feel a huge difference when I have P57 in my life, and anytime I’m in NY or LA I’m excited to take a live class.

The winner of this giveaway will receive a volume 2 Physique 57 DVD, courtesy of Physique 57,

NewImage

and will also win a Polar FT40 heart rate monitor, which I’ll order for you,

NewImage

plus a batch of custom macaroons (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon with cacao nibs and goji berries, or Meyer-lemon lavender)

NewImage

and whatever Whole Foods/TJs goodies find their way into the box 😉

I absolutely love my Polar heart rate monitor and wear it for all of my high-intensity workouts. Since I know how much I’m burning, I can get an idea of how much more I need to eat that day, and I always push myself a little harder when I can see how hard I’m working. It’s a fantastic workout tool and was even more helpful while I was pregnant, so I knew not to let my heart rate get too crazy high.

-With the Summer Shape Up beginning this week, this giveaway will end on FRIDAY, 6/15.

This giveaway has ended! Congratulations to the winner, Natalie.

This is my favorite giveaway so far the DVDs and the polar monitor are some things I have wanted for a very long time but I could never afford them on my own! There are sooo many reasons I have been reading this blog for the past four years but mainly because you offer so much variety! I love the Focus On post, they may be my favorite and I go back to them frequently whenever I’m deciding to try a new fitness class or DVD. I’m only 21 but I love the family post because I take of a baby full time, and you have been very helpful! I would like to see more videos! Things like how to’s (more hair ideas please!) , product reviews, fitness challenges/ quick workout videos. Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much to all of you for your amazing feedback, comments and sweet wishes. I’m so fortunate to have you in my life, and stay tuned for many more giveaways!

Thank you all so much for reading my little blog and for hanging out with me over here <3

Here’s to another amazing year!

xoxo

-Leave a comment with some blog feedback – what do you love? What changes would you like to see? What would you like to see more/less of in the next year?

I love your blog because there is a good mix of information and topics ranging from fitness, to food, to fashion. I would love to see more information about books, or possibly a book club. I realize you probably don’t have all the much time to read right now though! As for change, I wouldn’t change anything. Yours is the only blog that I am a daily reader. I skim through others, but definitely not daily as I do yours.

  2. Kat on June 14, 2012 at 11:51 am

I LOVE the family stuff as I just had my little girl in January… plus I like seeing the workout ideas I can squeeze in at home while she’s napping!

  3. Miriam on June 14, 2012 at 11:53 am

I am newer to the blog, but I really enjoy the different workouts mixed in with life advice. I enjoy reading about your life and seeing how motivated you are – it motivates me. I think the blog is great!

  4. Stephanie on June 14, 2012 at 11:58 am

I’m a big fan of your blog, mostly for recipes. (and now updates of your adorable baby! haha) I love that you use ingredients I can actually find, but create healthy meals that look delicious! The only thing I would like to see more of I guess would be at-home workouts. I’m LOVING that the Summer Shape-Up uses common at-home equipment, but most often I find they require fitness equipment that I don’t have access to without a gym membership. Just my two cents! 🙂

  5. Rachael on June 14, 2012 at 12:04 pm

I love the summer shape up! Hearing about all of your workouts also definitely helps keep me motivated!

  6. Carolyn on June 14, 2012 at 12:06 pm

I also love all the workout ideas (thank you for the intro to TurboFire!!!) and really appreciate that this year’s summer shape-up is doable at home. Also even though I’m YEARS away from having my own kids, I enjoy reading about your pregnancy and experience with your daughter. I’ve always been a preparer (or, you know, nerd) and started researching the college applications in eighth grade.

  7. Kim on June 14, 2012 at 12:07 pm

You are such an inspiration! I love how you are able to balance your life, live with healthy intentions, and you’re always so positive. You’ve inspired me to begin taking steps in that direction as well – and I’m already happier.
More budget-friendly posts (maybe recipes, or about workouts, etc.) would be great – being healthy is pricey!

  8. Jenn on June 14, 2012 at 12:13 pm

I love all the workout ideas, especially the treadmill workouts. I’d love to see more of those. I also like that all your recipes are geared toward normal women who don’t have the time, money, or patience to deal with expensive and hard to find ingredients or complicated preparation. Your workout reviews are also awesome!

  9. Kelly on June 14, 2012 at 12:15 pm

I love everything about your blog. But mostly the Family section and your workouts. Sometimes I find it hard to find a workout that can really make you sweat and you never fail me. I wouldn’t mind more schedule “Shape Up’s” because they keep me on track and then I don’t have to plan it. 🙂

  10. Anne on June 14, 2012 at 12:18 pm

I love how real and personal you are on your blog. And while your focus is on health & healthy eating you are understanding and flexible to the changing needs one has in their diet & life.

I would really like to see more actual recipes and maybe a way to search through past recipes you’ve posted (recipage maybe?).

  11. Alaina on June 14, 2012 at 12:22 pm

I love your family posts! Also it wouldn’t hurt to post that macaroon recipe 😉

  12. Abby on June 14, 2012 at 12:25 pm

I love the variety of workouts! Keep it comin’. I am also a huge fan of your at-home workout review (like Insanity, TurboFire, etc). Now I have an arsenal of new fitness program inspiration I’m dying to try!

  13. Sara on June 14, 2012 at 12:25 pm

I love the blog & am happy to celebrate! I’d love to see more workouts for people at the beginning of being fit. I can now run a 5k and have done some weight work but I am not yet up to your ability. (one day though!!)

I love your quick work-out ideas and seeing workouts that can be done at home…super practical since not everyone goes to a gym or has time to go every day even if they have a membership!

  22. Joni on June 14, 2012 at 12:56 pm

I hate to echo everyone else, but I really do love everything about your blog. I don’t have many suggestions, other than an idea for a possible post about being a group fitness instructor? I’m a spin instructor, soon to be kickboxing instructor (it’s a cardio class, not ‘true’ kickboxing lol) and I’m always looking for ways to be a better instructor – how to motivate without being pushy, keep people coming back, and find interesting things to chat about during those slow parts of class, etc. Thanks for all you do!!

  23. Sam on June 14, 2012 at 1:06 pm

I love your blog so much Gina- you’re one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth bloggers I’ve come across, and I truly enjoy reading about your life every day! You do such a good job of balancing blogging about family, food, fitness, and silliness 🙂 I honestly don’t want you to change a thing. I’ve been reading for about a year, and because of you I’ve added Sun Warrior and almond butter to my pantry, and I’m sure some other things too! I love experimenting with your recipes. I think you have handled the baby-blog balance perfectly by separating your “family” posts. I have absolutely loved reading about Livi and your pregnancy! I’m 23, so it’s not that time for me just yet, but it seems like it’s not so far away and that’s always been a little scary! Reading about your experience has made me a little less scared about the whole pregnancy thing, and overall more excited to see what my life will be like in maybe ~6ish years 🙂 I even showed my boyfriend a picture of you and Livi and his face lit up. awww. I’m so happy for you and the Pilot. Thanks for sharing your life with me and so many others!

  24. Claire on June 14, 2012 at 1:08 pm

I love your blog because its so diverse. The workouts are great, the food is delicious, the clothes are adorable, and you seem like such a genuinely nice, fun person. My favorite are the focus on posts, because I am always curious about trying new fitness trends, but it can be so expensive to get started with no guarantees if it’ll be worth it. I guess the only feedback I have is keep on keeping on.

  25. Ana on June 14, 2012 at 1:09 pm

Love coming to your blog and seeing all the great recipes you make! Your blog always inspires me to continue to eat healthy, while at the same time enjoying a treat here and there.

As so many other people have mentioned, I love your blog! I read it daily and truly appreciate your consistency in posting. I would like to see more recipes! I like when you expose your readers to new, healthy ingredients as well as ways to use the tried and true ‘superfoods.’ Thanks for being a model for healthy eating. You really are inspiring!

  32. Lindsay on June 14, 2012 at 1:47 pm

I love your blog – especially the quick, at home workout ideas. I am currently expecting our second child, but am looking forward to doing the summer shape up after he arrives!

I love how upbeat this blog is. Its packed with so much great information awesome ideas. I love how you live by what you say and not just talk the talk, you go out and do it! Keep up the great work and the amazing job at being first time mom. P.s- I really like the circuit training with dumbbells that you do. They work great and don’t need a billion pieces of equipment. Love it!!!

I would love to see some more protein breakfast recipes! They are always so good! 😀 <3

  36. La. on June 14, 2012 at 2:10 pm

I LOVE that your blog is a mix between straight up knowledge and humility. You’re never IN YOUR FACE, your like the friend who tells you daily that you can in fact do this. That working out and eating healthy is a GOOD decision for you and your family. You have a great personality and it comes across. I appreciate all the work you put into…this.

  37. Diana on June 14, 2012 at 2:11 pm

Hey Gina! I love your blog as is! Actually, I do agree with a previous commenter about maybe doing a book club? That would be lovely. 🙂

  40. Jamie on June 14, 2012 at 2:42 pm

I really love the variety of your posts. Sometimes it’s about work, your relationship with Tom, friends, family, past experiences, etc. Of course the food and fitness is the main focus, but I love the other tidbits too. I didn’t know if I’d be interested in the family posts, but they are SO sweet and they have become some of my favorites.

Thank YOU for sharing so much with us! Can’t wait for another year 🙂

  41. Soniathe Mexigarian on June 14, 2012 at 2:46 pm

I love your blog Gina. I wouldn’t change a thing, except . . . more recipes! You make the quick easy on the go meals that I love. You are open, honest, and human. You are extremely down to earth and that makes like you as a person even more. I love reading each of your entries, laughing along with other readers or tearing up on some of your most intimate posts. I may not comment often, but I am an avid rabid reader. I can’t speak for everyone, but thank you for allowing me a peek into your life and giving me hope and ideas on improving my own lifestyle.

You are easy to relate to, and I think you serve as a wonderful role model, whether you intend to or not. As far as blog improvements, I’d love to see more recipes. Keep up the good work! 🙂

  49. Samantha on June 14, 2012 at 4:29 pm

    Gina,

I love your blog. I was hoping you would start posting some zumba songs (and choreography) as I could really use some fun in my workout!

Thanks for taking your time everyday to inspire me to workout and eat right!

  50. Siobhan on June 14, 2012 at 4:30 pm

First of all- I’m very impressed with your blog- you can tell you love what you do. I like the mix of suggestions on workouts/how to improve a particular exercise, opinions on products and family details. I also like reading the comments other people leave when you post a question at the end of the entry. The only thing I would want to see more of is maybe another tab at the top for music/playlists (or it could go in the “fun section”)- you have some great suggestions sprinkled throughout your posts. I’m always looking for new music to pump me up for a run but I always forget to write them down/save them somewhere.
