Summer lovin’: Embroidered tops

I always get a little giddy inside when embroidered tops are in style.

They donโ€™t just scream summerโ€ฆ they scream summer whilst dancing at a pool party, margarita in hand. Theyโ€™re perfect for everyday, breezy, great for traveling and can be paired with so many different things.

This is my newest love:

I actually didnโ€™t buy it because I couldnโ€™t justify the price with the changes my bod is going through. So if you buy it, let me know so I can be jealous ๐Ÿ˜‰

Some other faves:

The embroidered look is also great on dresses:

You can find them in pretty much any clothing store, but here are some tips to keep it from looking too frumpy:

-Donโ€™t mix baggy with baggy. If youโ€™re rolling with a more flowy, loose-fitting tunic, pair it with skinny crops or leg-licious shorts.

-Combine with classic jewelry to keep it from looking like a costume

-Look out for the shape of the top. If itโ€™s a total square and not tailored in the waist or sleeves, be on the lookout for another one. Add a belt for shape to a baggier dress.

How to wear embroidered tops:

-With denim cut-offs or cuffed shorts, wedge shoes or structured sandals

-With skinny crops and flats

-With a printed skirt (mostly for more form-fitting embroidered tops) and wedge shoes

-Over a swimsuit with a fedora ๐Ÿ˜€

Are you rocking the embroidered trend this season?

I have ALWAYS loved embroidery!!!! Like, it’s the end all, be all, for me.

I love the brand Free People b/c they use lots of embroidery, even before they were as “trendy” as they are now, 10 yrs ago they were still doing it.

And the pants that I have mentioned to you before, Be Present, I get the styles with huge embroidered pink lotus flowers on the upper part…love them.

    Great post for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Could you come to Montreal and be my stylist please? Pleeeeaaase???

I’ve discovered your blog a couple months ago and I have to admit that I have a major girl crush. I wish I had your fashion sense! I’m a fitness instructor and a gym fanatic just like you but my style is more sporty than anything else. I wish I had an eye for pretty dresses and accessories like you! I’m gonna take some notes and show your blog to my roommate so, hopefully, she’ll tag along in my next shopping trip to help me find that look.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love your blog and congrats on the pregnancy!

I never purchase new clothes! I think I have had the same wardrobe for over a year. I generally wait for Christmas and get clothes as gifts. But your fashion posts are certainly starting to have an effect on my outlook… there may be a shopping spree in my near future!

I absolutely love the colour and design of the anthropologie one. Just bought some deisel denim cut-offs and have been wearing them with cute tees, but an embroidered top would be a great and more feminine way to wear them…thanks for the fashion advice! ๐Ÿ™‚ xyx

I love this style! I tried on a few dresses/tops like this at Forever 21 last summer but they were all so baggy, so I looked like a major frumpypants. I’m still on the lookout for some more fitted styles though – that dress from Of Two Minds looks perfect!

I love the Anthropologie one. I have a thing for orange and coral. Very cute.

I’m wearing an embroidered top right now and just bought another at Anthropologie a few weeks ago. I love this trend, and I’m usually not into trends!

I adore embroidered tops, but I can’t stand it when/if they unravel.
