Oh my gosh, thank you for saying you have a short torso! I’m 7 mo post partum today, and I’d say today’s morning jog (for the first time after a few weeks break) was the first time my insides weren’t uncomfortable. The sensation hasn’t been concerning before, but it’s definitely been uncomfortable. It feels like what you said helps explain it, as I have a short torso too!
As you said, I’ve tried to give myself lots of grace during this period and not force myself to run, but it’s been hard as I really miss the (pre-pregnancy) experience of running, I’m still 20 pounds overweight, and diet hasn’t been cutting it. I still feel short of breath from those last months of pregnancy (I’m asthmatic to begin with) so I’ve wanted to get back to running to help with that too, as running made a world of difference in the management of my asthma in the first place. The physical and emotional aspects have been tough on a personal level, so this episode has really been incredible to listen to. It’s explained some things in more detail, it’s good to hear your experiences, and it’s giving me more confidence that I’m doing this right by listening to my body and sticking to my (loose) gut feeling. I think I’ve rambled a bit, but it’s hard to say these complicated feelings precisely. Thanks for putting this out there!
