Sometimes…

When I eat something extra delicious, the baby will kick like crazy. Tom says that sheโ€™s dancing and squeezing the umbilical cord to get the good stuff out- kind of like squeezing the end of a tube of toothpaste. I find this image borderline disturbing and hilarious at the same time.

[No spoon in your hotel room? A straw works juuuuust fine]

The telltale almond butter on my belly is the least of my problems. Itโ€™s the half of a tortilla chip that falls out when I go to change into my pajamas.

I donโ€™t even fight the fact that 90% of my clothes look wrong. It doesnโ€™t even encourage me to shop, since I think it would be a waste until itโ€™s time for cool weather clothes [weโ€™re in that in-between stage]. Todayโ€™s outfit is a yellow athletic tank and blue genie cropsโ€ฆ and Iโ€™m thankful I donโ€™t have to venture into public until I head to the gym and grocery store this afternoon.

ok, always: I like do to the โ€œdrive the carโ€ move I put in my new Pitbull Zumba dance. You know, the move where you have one hand in front like youโ€™re holding a steering wheel, legs shoulder-width, booty down low, hips move forward and back. Itโ€™s the kind of move that makes people giggle while theyโ€™re doing it, and I think itโ€™s even better with a giant baby belly.

Walking and Zumba are the only things that *really* sound good to me, so Iโ€™ve been sticking with a lot of that. Light weight training is becoming a bit of a beast with an extra 19 lbs of mass, but Iโ€™m sticking with it since I know it will help me later.

Bella will be extra clingy to the belly. Sheโ€™ll curl up with her paws and feet around it (like a hug), head gazing up at me. Other times, sheโ€™ll use my belly as a landing pad in between jumps, like she could care less about whatโ€™s in there.

I wonโ€™t let myself wonder about what sheโ€™ll look like. She could be bald โ€“like I was. I had a full head of hair which fell out immediately, and was bald until I was one year old- or blonde, like her daddy was when he was little. She could have dark eyes or green eyes. Instead of picturing what sheโ€™ll look like, I just envision her coming out and being healthyโ€ฆ thatโ€™s all I want <3

It’s been hard to make myself weight train too…and I’m not very far along! I know it’s important to maintain strength throughout the pregnancy, especially for labor…but long walks just sound so much nicer to me right now, ha!

You really put things into perspective, because I always “complain” that when my hubby and I have a baby, he/she will probably come out a red head with curly hair. I have curly hair and the combination of our hair color could easily make a red headed baby. Even thought I’m only joking (partly), what matters is having a healthy, happy baby at the end result! But of course, you should know, you’re baby will be gorgeous ๐Ÿ™‚

I get food down my shirt all the time and I’m not even pregnant haha… Tom’s comment about the umbilical cord made me laugh… boys are too funny ๐Ÿ™‚

So fun to think about what you angel will look like! We know she will be gorgeous because her mommy and daddy are! Again, you make me want to be pregnant again.. Lol

I love reading about your pregnancy posts! How far along are you again? I totally wear clothes that are too small all the time and I don’t even care, as long as I’m comfortable that’s all that matters!!! Dogs are so cute with baby bumps, today my pup kissed (licked) my belly a little giving his little sister kisses! I thought it was sweet but he was really probably just licking the lotion off my stomach!

Okay truth time- I was TERRIFIED my poor son(now 4.5 months) was going to be not-so-cute. I was the ugliest newborn (born a premie so no fat on me whatsoever). I was obviously much more concerned with the health of my sweet boy, but when he popped out after 14 hours of unmedicated labor apparently the first thing I said to my husband after he took his first few breaths on my chest was “Oh, he is perfect…Thank God he doesn’t look like me”. haha. Im so excited for you to go through all of this. It is so cool to be able to analyze what part of them looks like who…you’ll love it!

You are right…when it comes down to it, all you want is a healthy baby! But it’s still fun to imagine who they are going to look like ๐Ÿ™‚

Holy awesome skin Gina! You’ve definitely got the “glow” going on!

Beautiful post…and it’s good that you’re pretty much ‘whatever’ about the wardrobe choices lately b/c you know what…with a newborn and small baby, the spitup, and everything else, that just…happens…as well as you nursing and pulling up your shirt about 13 times a day, all that will really matter is comfort. Not stains, not matching, just that it’s nursing-friendly and comfy ๐Ÿ™‚

And I use my finger not even a straw sometimes in the PB jar! ha!

When we were 14, my best friend and I made a pact that we would tell each other if our future babies were ugly babies. Although she could probably give birth to a goat baby and I would think it was the most adorable baby in the world, so the plan probably wouldn’t work.

I love reading your family baby posts! However, they’re not good for the fact that the husband and I are trying to wait!

This made me smile so big!

I always wonder if animals can tell when something is going on like a pregnancy. And your little girl is going to be absolutely beautiful, I think all babies are.

Wonder, ponder, and revel in being a Mom Gina – that is what it’s all about….take it all in, and enjoy.
For those of us who can’t have children – my heart leaps for you, and you make me smile…
Thank you for sharing in this wonderful journey.

  16. Marie on October 3, 2011 at 8:55 pm

You look so beautiful in that picture! Definite glow! The image of Bella hugging your tumny is too precious; you should take a pic of that! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Love this.

All I wore when I was pregnant were black leggings in different varieties [Blair Waldorf would not approve] and long tanks from H&M and then I switched from short sleeve shells to long sleeve shells. On the weekends it was maternity jeans, I only bought one pair, and the same as far as tops went. Refused to spend a lot on maternity wear….especially with my job. I really lucked out with being a trainer not having to buy expensive maternity professional clothes!

I am SO cardio-ed out right now because from mid 2nd tri on ALL I wanted to do was cardio because it felt right. I hated strength training when I was pregnant. Stuck with it but not as much as I could have! Listened to my bod though. Glad you are too ๐Ÿ™‚
PS–how sweet is it when the fur baby is all about the belly baby…looooooved that so much!

A straw? Genius. I once used a credit card to eat yogurt. Desperate times, my friend, desperate times.

Cute post! I have to say, I’m jealous. I just moved to France for the next 7 months and there’s no Almond Butter here. No peanut butter. NO NUT BUTTER AT ALL. NO Where to be found ๐Ÿ™ I’m homesick, but this makes it worse haha.

  23. Kat on October 4, 2011 at 1:08 pm

My dog does that too! loves on my belly then pounces on it. and 30 pounds of pure muscle pit mix do not feel so good :/

  24. Vicki on October 5, 2011 at 1:08 pm

    …or some other color eyes!

My husband has green eyes and I have blue. Both of our daughters have big, beautiful brown eyes. You just never know!
