I love the versatility of plain yogurt! I love using it in both savory and sweet dishes. My fave breakfast is yogurt and cereal!
Congrats, Alison! Please send me your shipping info so I may forward it to the Stonyfield fairy 😀

I finally, FINALLY got the 10 miles over with!!! 1:32:15 and it felt pretty amazing. The best part: when it was over 😉
I think a huge factor in my runs is having a seriously awesome playlist. Last night, I stayed up a little later to re-work mine and it was so worth it.
Bfast was a quick Ezekiel with Earth Balance, cinnamon and Maca (a superfood that spikes energy and was taken by Peruvian warriors before battle; maca is FULL of phyto nutrients, has a ton of benefits for the body and mind, and is a perfect pre-workout food; for more info, click here and here)
That maca lit a fire under my booty, because I was OFF!!! 😀
I ran the 4 mile stretch twice, then ran over to the track (1/2-3/4 mile), around it 3 times, then back to where my car was parked. About 10 miles (give or take a little… reason #12049274 why I need a Garmin) and stretched and walked for about 10 minutes. Glorious.
I half of one of these little guys around mile 8:
Macarooons = awesome carb replacement 😀
The reason why I didn’t do the 10 miles yesterday as I had planned, is because I had a veggie-filled lunch:
Beast
Brussels and roasted sweet potato rounds with Annie’s ketchup
And then proceeded to fall asleep on the couch with the pilot, and woke up when it was dark outside. Nice.
I was thisclose to becoming discouraged by missing my run, but instead I got up, grabbed a quick snack (naps always make me want a snack when I wake up)
And hit up the gym for an hour of hill walking and ellipticizing, followed by back and biceps.
The pilot and I had a face-rocking dinner 😀
Goat cheese stuffed mushrooms (used Ezekiel bread instead of plain sandwich bread), 100% whole wheat organic couscous (sauteed 1/4 onion and added 3/4 cup organic veggie broth up to a boil; added 1/2 cup couscous and let stand for 5 minutes; added sliced organic grape tomatoes and kalamata olives, seasoned with oregano) and roasted lemon and garlic asparagus.
My plate:
The pilot’s plate:
And we shared a bottle of organic Syrah that Jeni had brought over:
We watched Food Inc. as we dined –which I hadn’t seen since it was banned in Valdosta; no theatres here would show it- and we both agreed that it was an incredible movie. Very well done with an awesome message. It always makes me happy to see others teach the masses about things I truly believe in. Know where your food is coming from and remember, every time you buy something, you’re voting for the type of products you want to have available to you. Companies HAVE to do what the consumers want.. so if we tell them that we’re going to buy organic products, they’ll grant our wishes.
The pilot made dessert:
Coconut Bliss Vanilla ice cream with almond butter and vegan chocolate chips. One way ticket to foodgasm city 😉
Well I’m off to clean the casa so we can work on Christmas decorations and then have two training appointments.
Have a wonderful day!
xoxo,
Gina
Workout jam of the day: “Uprising” by Muse (so Twilight-esque)
Ohhh yes, Coconut Bliss IS sensational 🙂
Have fun decorating today!!
Naps make me want a snack too! That is crazy the movie was banned!
Awesome run!! How did you get your playlist on the blog like that?
food inc. was banned in valdosta? wow. that makes me really, really sad. i haven’t seen the movie, but from what i’ve read, i think it is such an important film, and i hope it can continue to reach people throughout the country. being informed is so important, as you said!
those goat cheese stuffed mushrooms look perfect – two of my favorite things. 🙂
btw, if your readers want a second chance to win the stonyfield products, i’m doing the same giveaway!

enjoy decorating today!
I can’t believe the movie was banned there. That’s crazy.
That’s crazy that food inc was banned! Wow.
Those mushroooms look delish! I HAVE to make them.
Congrats on the run!
And seriously, someone get this girl a Garmin!
You do need one, they rock. 🙂
Your dinner looks scrumptious. I had some shrooms w/crab last night @ Bonefish. I saw Food, Inc. a couple of nights ago (very enlightening); can’t believe it wasn’t shown here. Got your veg chips for ya.
YEAH! thank you 😀
i’ve never had bonefish but heard it’s amazing!
see you soon!
That is insane that Food Inc. was banned. I watched it through segments on Youtube and I agree with everything you said. I think I read before that you read Skinny Bitch too– I love the quote that says something like “Closing your eyes to the problem won’t make it go away. You don’t want to see it, but you’ll EAT it?”
Okay anyway..great job on your run! And if you sent that dessert my way I wouldn’t complain 😉
Congrats to the winner, Alison!
And Food Inc, I havent seen it. I really need to get on that, huh!
Your playlists…question…do you get to pick your own music when you teach classes? Now that I am teaching more, I am really burning alot of playlists and I always like to hear how other fitness instructors pics their tunes.
With yoga it’s a little easier, but I do play some funky stuff…but then I wonder if people think it’s weird. But some people think chanting is weird, so I try to stay true to myself. Do you ever overthink the choices you put on your playlists for the classes you teach?
🙂
I can’t believe Food Inc. was banned! How could they even justify that?
Those stuffed mushrooms look so gooooood 🙂
That dinner looks amazing!! Great job with it:)
I can’t believe Food, Inc was banned in Valdosta! Craziness…
Have a good day at work:)
I started making healthier food choices this week and I feel better than ever! I feel more energetic and happy. I didn’t realize that junk food was so terrible for me until a couple of days ago when I ate a couple of Doritos and developed quite the migraine shortly after. I’ve been getting migraines since I was 10 and and chips are my go to junk food so I’m starting to think that’s where my migraines were coming from. Anyway, now I can’t even look at a bag of Doritos anymore. Gina the food you eat always looks so amazing and I get so many great ideas from this blog. Congrats on running 10 miles. Running is my least favourite form of excersie and I’m always in awe of runners.
P.S. Congrats on winning the spa giveaway Alison
Must. Buy. Maca.
I hate when I want to take a nap for like an hour and end up waking up 3 hours later! I feel like I wasted my day and then I’m up all night. Oh well, I guess my body was just telling me I needed rest.
Your dinner looks sensational! But dessert? Whoaa, even better!
Hey, I just wanted to stop by and let you know how much I love reading your blog. Thank you for all the amazing eats and inspiration. Keep it up:)
<3, D
WOW…I can’t believe a movie was banned! What happened to free speech?!?!? Maybe advertisements for fast food restaurants should be banned as well! 🙂
Good for you on your ten miles! Those goat cheese mushrooms sound SO good. I would love to have that recipe!
your playlists always rock gina!
the pilot definitely gets an A plus for the dinner and dessert 🙂
jenna
One of these days I’m going to have to get a macaroon in me. 🙂
Also gotta go see Food Inc. You’re so right – the way we spend our money is like voting.
Your dinner looks great! And congrats on the run….I am dying for a Garmin too 😉
Fabulous playlist!! Can’t wait to download some of these.
Nice job on the run. I have Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin on my playlist too. It always makes me smile.
I NEED YOUR MACAROONS IN MY POCKET!
Great playlist you got there! PS. have you seen the video for “Uprising”? Kind of creepy haha.
yes it’s way creeptastic. i pictured the lead singer to look very different, too!
COngrats on the 10 miles!! 🙂
Great job with the 10 miles. I love the looks of the stuffed mushrooms.
YUM! That dinner looks perfect and right up my alley.
Have a great night pretty lady! Great 10 mile run!
Aw..Christmas decorations! I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one putting them up this early 🙂
I can’t believe you liked Food Inc?! 🙂
Those mushrooms would be perfect for Thanksgiving, I just need to find something to use besides goat cheese: perhaps Earth Balance + nooch??
I’ve got an email coming at you soon.
LOVES YAS!
I hope I can do the same thing as you- not discouraged by the dark….and hit the gym!
don’t ya just love when you finish those runs?! i was so relieved when i finished my race today!
Isn’t “Uprising” amazing?! There is so much truth to that song (sadly). I’m a huge Muse fan — they’re great in concert!
i just discovered muse via the twilight soundtrack last year and i’m in LOVE. good stuff
There is so much goodness on this page, I don’t even know what to do with myself! Your macaroons make me so happy, and seem like the perfect mid-run fuel to me! I usually go for gummy bears, but I’d much prefer those.
Goat cheese + mushrooms are one of my favorite combos EVER!
(“When We Were Young” is Ari’s favorite Killers song.)
I saw “Food, Inc.” on July 24 and haven’t eaten meat since. I think I was headed down that path anyway, but it was the final straw that I needed for me to take the plunge. When we went to a restaurant a few days after seeing the movie, I actually started to cry when I saw all the chicken breasts on the grill! I now own the DVD and watch bits and pieces of it all the time. GREAT and important movie!
Seriously, what is it about naps that creates the munchies? That always happens to me too, but sleeping through the night has the opposite effect. Good thing I rarely get to nap!
So glad you got to see Food Inc. finally. Great film–I’m so appalled that it was banned in Valdosta! That says a lot.
Hey, thank you for the Coconut Bliss mention! We totally appreciate it. 🙂
Vince Da Blisser,
from the Coconut Bliss Mothership in Eugene, Oregon
of course! it’s the only ice cream (besides homemade coconut ice cream) that i LOVE 😀
