Can you give an example of a workout schedule for a week. How many days to do legs, hiit, arms, total body etc? I am looking to workout 4-5 times a week right now and could use a schedule. Basically how many days to do HIIT and when do strength..since I only have 20-30 minutes in the morning.
Hi Jill, I just found fitnessista. I was wanting to set up some new routines etc. she has a pod cast itโs episode 7 that explains everything. If I knew how Iโd link it in here but Iโm not real familiar with podcast. Hope that helps
Hi Gina! Since you reorganized this page I’ve been using it A LOT! I love that it’s categorized into different areas of the body and the videos are GREAT! Every other night I’ll pick an exercise from arms/lower body and abs to do. In 20 or so minutes I feel like I’ve gotten a good burn going. So thank you! ๐
Hey Gina!
The new design of your page is awesome! It looks really amazing!
I’ve got a question: Do you have training plans for the gym as well?
From time to time I like working out there so that’s why I’m asking ;).
Yes, or just some tips to freshen up the routine.
I always change the routine after 6-8 weeks and I’ve also alternated with different sets.
Do you mix your workouts, e.g. exercises with your own weight and at the machines?
I’m just curious that’s why I’m asking ;).
i don’t usually use machines, but i love to use the different tools: dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, bosu, trx, benches, plyo boxes. any more you usually do, try to change it up by changing the type of weight you use (go from two dumbbells to one at a time, etc) or try to add a balance challenge (bosu or standing on one leg)
I have a question! I have always been naturally skinny, but as I have gotten older, it’s turned into a more skinny fat. I did a 21 day workout program and started eating better and had these results.
I was happy to tone up some and get rid of a little of the fat, but I want to gain weight! I don’t like being so skinny! My arms and legs are soooo skinny. Is there a certain workout and meal plan I should follow?
if you want to build, i would increase your calorie intake, increase your carb percentage and start lifting heavy weights. try a split where you focus on specific muscle groups per day instead of more of a circuit-style plan (like legs one day, back and biceps the next, etc)

don’t want to diet/but to follow a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. I will be turning 40 in a few years and I want to get my weight and healthy lifestyle under control. I have never had children, and don’t know if I want to. here are my stats i am of Indonesian heritage, am only 4’10 and I weigh about 135. Ideally I want to be between 100-110, but I know at my age I might not attain that. i just want to get healthy and fit into clothes better. Be honest and let me know what I need to do i walk every day and try to eat healthy and still feel bad. Thank yu
I am wondering if you have a general format for a plan that you recommend for going about setting up my own workout plan. I workout at home and usually do a mix of yoga, barre, biking, circuits/weight training. Do you have a general structure that you recommend for setting up a plan, in terms of how many days/week or month to aim for of each type of exercise if I prefer a mixture?
Thanks for any advice. I have loved following your blog for maybe 4 or 5 years now!
hi kari! thank you so much for reading!! i lay it all out in “hiit it” — it has ideas on how to shuffle your workouts based on the type (strength or cardio) plus weeks of sample plans. hope that helps a little!
Wow Gina this is great. I just found this website, and I’m really excited to get to jump in to it. Your post and articles are nicely categorized, so I’ll be ready to get started. Thanks again girl!
Hi, Gina! I’m happy to see the categorization of your workouts here; it’s very user-friendly. ๐
This morning, I was happy to see a very positive pregnancy test sitting on my bathroom counter, and you were the first person I wanted to check with about prenatal fitness. I just wanted you to know how much you inspire me! I have been in the Army National Guard for 26 years and my body has paid the price in several places. I started doing water aerobics in 2011 at the local YMCA. In 2012 I went through training to be a Water Aerobics Instructor for the Y. After finding your page, I have taken several things with me into the water that I, and many others, am unable to do on land. I lead a HIIT class on Thursdays, and last night I was trying to come up with something fresh, and I saw your email about Squatember! Regular squats in the water arent worth a squat, but your list of different squats inspired me yet again! I came up with a great routine for this mornings class and they loved it! I shared my experance on FB (HominyChicks Water Ex) and Google + with the other instructors, and challenged them to find ways to make squats work in the water also. You Rock! Thnk you for all you do for us! And Happy Squatember to you!
Hi Gina, what’s the name of the Pilates studio in San Diego you took classes at? And do you have a post of other studio workout sessions in San Diego? Thanks
I’m 47 years old. In 2013 I was thin with curves and looked great. 2015, body began to change so I had a tummy tuck and mini thigh lift. Loose skin is gone from my abs, but abs are NOT flat. Mini thigh lift didn’t work or doctor didn’t take off enough. Legs are still big. Hips look wider. My Tensor Fasciae Latae Muscle is larger on my right and small on the left. That started about a year ago. What can I do to even that out? I eat right, exercise some, should exercise more, I know, and can’t lose weight. SO frustrated. What are best exercises to tone my legs, abs, and hips. Looks like I had no surgery at all. HELP!! What works after those types of surgeries? Need to loose weight and need something to curb my appetite.
Hi, I was looking for a good workout video thing (like the beachbody videos and stuff) that would be good for me. I’m obese, and ready to change but I always do better when I have a motivator (like a video) is there any specific videos you would recommend?
Hi Gina,
I been following your blog for a while now, I find it very informative and easy to understand, which is appreciated. Would love your views on the yoni egg when it come to working out. I would really appreciate you writing an article on it. I have definitely seen improvement in using it, but your views would be invaluable. https://yonihealer.co.uk

These are great! I really enjoyed the Holiday Fit Frenzy and Lean Leg Workout. This is really going to help me during the holidays. I have a job where I sit most of the day and really need to get movement in my lower body. I try to get up and walk around every two hours. I’m going to incorporate all this into my two-week diet plan. I’m trying to get my weight down so I can stop taking or cut down on my blood pressure medicine! https://tinyurl.com/2weekweightlose
