Berry Nice
{Say the title in a Borat voice… maybe it will make it less lame? Haha}
Oh hey 😀 How has your Friday been? Hope you’re having a great night so far <3 Any fun plans this weekend?
After my am walk with Bell and saying hi to ya, I went in to work for an hour to observe a total-body advanced class that I start teaching next week. I took a lot of notes and feel pretty good about teaching it.. reminds me of my bootcamp-teaching days and I like that. It’s funny because people assume that I’m an *easy* teacher because I’m nice. Not so much >:)
Breakfast of champs:
Bfast cookie dough cereal w/ a crumbled Twin Cakes cocoa creme on top and lots of cinnamon 🙂
I was planning on getting a lot of errands done today.. and then I fell asleep for two hours. I was tired from lack of sleep this week, and needed a little make-up snooze time. When I woke up, I blame Kath for the massive strawberry hankering that hit me.
I went to Trader Joe’s to get my fix:
and enjoyed a plate of organic strawberries and blackberries 🙂 I shared some of the strawberries with Bella- watching her eat them is the cutest thing ever. She just loves people food — I’m sure I could be eating a plate of grasshoppers and she’d stare at me longingly.
Also picked up the makings for green juices (to fight whatever this allergic attack/sleep deprivation/nast I’m fighting)
along with ingredients for Mama Pea’s Tomato Tea.
It made the house smell amazing and I’m enjoying the bowl as I type this. It’s more like a bowl of very spicy marinara than a “tea”, but I can feel it working its wonders already. If you’re fighting something, too, def give it a whirl.
For cardio, I took it easy and did some elliptical and walking on the treadmill since I have a full day of work/assisting/teaching tomorrow. I’ve gotten a little spoiled by being able to work out at the resort –it’s immaculate- but it was nice to gym it up at my other gym, dressed like a homeless person and not seeing anyone I know 😉
Mail surprise:
Thank you so much, Jenna! Can’t wait to try this 🙂
I’m off to my little bro’s confirmation (so cute) and then partying it up with the fam.
(Sock Tans R Hawt)
See ya bright and early before work.
xoxo
Gina
have a great evening, and have a blast at work tomorrow. Hope you get over whatever you’re fighting soon <3
Also, those strawberries look absolutely perfect. I love fresh fruit
Not sure of the plans for the weekend yet, probably homework and some biking
That’s funny that you say people assume you’ll be a nice trainer because I was just talking to my husband about this. When I’m certified, people will probably think the same thing about me. I’m friendly, but I can make people WORK. =)
I always tell potential clients that if they want yelling at our bootcamp classes that it will cost them extra $$ 😉 because the secret is is that we’re all really, really nice!
Bella eats strawberries? What a dog hhhh 🙂
It’s nice that your not such a nice teacher, it makes you wanna push harder! 😉
Can’t wait to see what you think about the Tracy Anderson DVD! 🙂
I remember the confirmation days. It seems so long ago – I feel old. :\
Congrats to your bro on his confirmation. Lucky girl to be spoiled by an amazing gym due to your work! 🙂 Have a great weekend, Gina!
Hi! I love your blog and I am dying to try your cookie dough oatmeal, I dont know why I haven’t yet! I am a teenage girl and have just started my own blog! If you get a chance to check it out, that would be wonderful and I would be so honored! Thank you for being an inspiration for me to start a blog! -Lauren teeneatlive.wordpress.com
Mama Pea’s tea..had forgotten about that recipe. Hope it works for you!
And very cool on the DVD…hope you enjoy it. Keep us posted!
“It’s funny because people assume that I’m an *easy* teacher because I’m nice.” –haha! The hardest yoga teachers I know are the quiet, calm types, the “nice” looking ones. They are the ones that just bust you 🙂 lol Have fun teaching your class and get better soon!
aww happy confirmation to your broski!
I love anything that comes with instructions to be read in a Borat voice.
Your blog is no exception.
A-High-five.
😀
I got very curious about Tracy Anderson’s workouts after I read your friends review so I bought both Mat DVD and Dance Cardio – I love them! It’s def not what I’m used to (P90X is my workout drug of choice) but it was refeshing and really gets your heart pumping once you pick up the routines. The Mat DVD is my new obsession, I love all the odd angles she works the body. Only thing I don’t like is that it’s strange how she seems to forget to cue, so you need to keep your eyes on the tv. Hope you like it too!
Have you thought about taking L-Glutamine for immunity. It’s something I always do if my activity levels increase. Exercise depletes L-Glutamine quite severely and your immune system needs it.
If it makes you feel better I have HORRIBLE tan lines under my knees (from wearing capris when I run) 🙁
I take the blame!
Berries are just amazing this time of year. I probably eat 2+ cups a day!
Those strawberries look delicious! 😀
enjoy your evening with the family! cute shoes, where did you purchase them?
aldo- all the deets are on the fashion page 😉
I’m glad you tried it! It definitely helps me. But yes, it’d also be awesome over pasta 🙂
Hi Gina! I’ve been a reader for quite some time now (probably 1 1/2 years or so actually!) but don’t comment a ton. Not sure why, but I always love your blog for its workout tips.
The reason I’m posting today is that I was just diagnosed with sciatica on the right side of my body, which probably equates to my L4 or L5 on my spine. (P.S. — I had no idea what any of those terms meant until I Googled them yesterday). Anyway, it’s put a major damper on my lifestyle and mood as of late. I have a very active job running a restaurant and catering functions, plus I love to run and work out in general. I now feel like I’m going to burst into tears whenever my Tylenol wears off and am moving at a snail’s pace.
Obviously, rest is going to be the best cure. But, I read a few things about sciatica that said it was a good idea to do low-impact exercise such as swimming and yoga.
Have you ever worked with a client with sciatica or recovering from it? I was just wondering if you have any ideas as to good exercises that will keep me toned (or moving at least) while not putting a lot of strain on my lower back. I appreciate any tips or insight you have! Thanks, and hope you have a great weekend!
i’ve never worked with a client that has it, but many of the guests do. swimming is an excellent workout for that, and i’ll ask one of my trainer friends (who trains a LOT of the guests) what she recommends and get back to you
ooh those strawberries look amazing… enjoy the conformation!!
oh, please let us know how Tracys DVD are when you have tried it! I love her, so this might be a DVD I could buy and comine with my running.
Have a nice weekens, and enjoy your brothers confirmatin:)
i totally will!
Haha I went out and bought strawberries after reading Kath’s post too! 😛
I must try the cookiedough cereal. It looks and sounds so tasty!
Love the shoes! Where are they from?
aldo- all the deets are on the fashion page 🙂
Cute shoes! And I really need to try this cookie dough breakfast. Looks delish!
Hi Gina! I love your blog! I read it every day : )
I’d be interested in hearing how you like Tracy Anderson’s workout! Maybe you can give a little update about it after you try it out? I hope you feel better soon!
