Crossing to the Dark Side

Hi friends <3 How are ya? Hope you’re having a great day so far! I’m so stoked you loved the Pilot’s guest post– he’s kind of amazing Winking smile It was a lovely surprise to wake up to his post this morning.

bella

Bright and early, I took a ballet class. Holy thighs and buns. It was glorious Open-mouthed smile

I was so glad to replace the morning’s pack of Via with a green juice:

green juice

-one stalk/head/thing of romaine

-one organic cucumber

-one green apple

-1/2 lemon

-spirulina

Same amount of energy minus the caffeine. I just need to stop being lazy about cleaning the juicer- it’s one of the only reasons why I haven’t juiced lately Winking smile

Post dance, I munched some brown rice toast with goat cream cheese, eggs and salsa:

toast

(eggs and salsa are a match made in heaven)

and packed up a three course meal Smile

pack

Leftover soup from the other night:

lunch

Fennel, green apple, and onion salad with balsamic and Garlic Gold

salad

CAT FOOD

tuna

(aka tuny, with hummus, Dijon mustard, tomatoes, kalamata olives and oregano)

and a goat brie wedge Smile

lunch (2)

In theory, it was the perfect lunch. The only thing to taint it was the fact that I didn’t screw on the lid to the cat food tuna all the way. Um yeah.

Stinky. But so delicious Smile

So today, I’m crossing over to the dark side and replacing the beloved Crackberry with an iPhone. I can use the iPhone to complete credit card transactions and it will make life a little easier. I’ve avoided getting an iPhone FOREVER because I don’t like the keypad (I like actual keys instead of a screen), but the Pilot has always had one and loves it. I am pretty stoked about the apps, though!

Team Crackberry or iPhone? Any apps you’re crazy about?

What’s your favorite stinky food? haha

I’m back to work. See ya in the morning!!

xoxo

Gina

I have a crackberry and love it but want an iPhone so bad. However, I’m not willing to leave Verizon. When they get it, I’ll get one!

    • Kim on January 13, 2011 at 5:53 pm

Jessica – Verizon is getting the IPHONE Feb 10th – check out their website!

  2. Babycakes on January 13, 2011 at 5:12 pm

you will LOVE the iphone! 🙂

  3. Kara on January 13, 2011 at 5:13 pm

My favorite stinky food is probably a Norwegian goat cheese called gjetoast (may have spelled that wrong). It’s a little stinky, but so good, almost like a dessert!

I’d love an iPhone and I’d have tons of game apps like Pocket God. Such a great thing to have in a waiting room.

  4. Emma (Sweet Tooth Runner) on January 13, 2011 at 5:14 pm

iPhone all the way!! Okay, I admit I don’t have one, but I really wish I did! 😛

Fave stinky food = spicy Indian! Love the spices but I am given a wide berth after eating it! 😛

  5. Christin@purplebirdblog on January 13, 2011 at 5:14 pm

I love my Android long time. 🙂

  6. Mama Pea on January 13, 2011 at 5:14 pm

I’ve been having green juice every morning for two weeks. I sucked it up about cleaning the juicer and I’m so glad I did. Don’t ever let me forget this. 🙂

  7. Ilana on January 13, 2011 at 5:14 pm

I’m actually contemplating making the same switch – I have the BBerry Storm so I’m used to the touch screen but I’ve had my storm replaced about six times right now (and it’s about to go on it’s seventh, the charge port just broke), and I’m wondering if I’ll have better luck with the iPhone, esp since Verizon is releasing theirs soon. Looking forward to hearing about your experience!!

  8. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on January 13, 2011 at 5:15 pm

Crackberry all the way!! Though I have to say that the apps are definitely better on the iPhone. The keys are what keep me from switching too- too much trouble in gloves!

  9. Meghan on January 13, 2011 at 5:16 pm

I LOVE the iphone! I have way too many apps…words with friends, E!online and the “bizzle” apps are a few you may like 😉

  10. Tiffany (Stuffed with Fluff) on January 13, 2011 at 5:16 pm

I have always wanted an iPhone but wasn’t willing to switch to AT&T. So, by default I have a Blackberry Storm, which is CRAP. It’s a poor imitation of what the iPhone is.

I’m torn between iPhone and Android atm. iPhone has better apps, but Android is up and coming!

  11. Katie on January 13, 2011 at 5:17 pm

Love tuna but yes def stinky!

I love my iphone, Mike and I both have them ! I used to be a crackberry ONLY girl, I loved the full keypad and was not loving the idea of a touch phone because I wasn’t sure If I could text just as fast, because that little stupid reason was really important to me, lol! First I was like ughhh dont know about the iphone but then I fell in LOVE with it and we have been married ever since, happily ever after!

Have a good night Gina! Yes yoga would be fun! I have to book my hotel for the deal asap! Email me when you get a chance to breathe! I know your super busy! If you want my cell I can email that to you, sometimes text is easier too, let me know! Nite!

  12. Kimberly on January 13, 2011 at 5:19 pm

As a former blackberry user…. I can definitely say it doesn’t hold a candle to the iPhone! The blackberry is useless! Enjoy your new device!

  13. Janet on January 13, 2011 at 5:21 pm

I crossed over 2 months ago, Best decision I made. The apps are great especially in the health department. You get used to the key pad, takes some time!

  14. Tracy @ Commit to Fit on January 13, 2011 at 5:23 pm

I don’t have either phone, but I think I would like an iPhone. I have an iTouch and love it! Although, I have heard that the Blackberry is great too. So hard to decide! 🙂

  15. breakingsilence @ Freshman -15 on January 13, 2011 at 5:23 pm

Team iPhone!! Get Angry Birds (it’s hilarious), Facebook, Twitter (for obvious reasons), and Stanza (can download free copies of classic books to the iPhone and read them anytime!).

  16. Kristina @ life as kristina on January 13, 2011 at 5:24 pm

I would juice sooooooo much more if I didn’t have to cleanthe juicer too! Such a pita! I am switching to an iphone as soon as verizon finally gets it! Cant wait!

  17. Julie on January 13, 2011 at 5:24 pm

I got a juicer for Christmas and am so amazed by the energy I get from it. I make one pretty close to what you just said. Do you have any other juice recipes that are good for beginners.
You’ll love your iPhone! I finally got one in September and it’s my favorite thing!

  18. Barb on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

    You will love the iPhone.

  19. Jillian on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

I had a blackberry and getting an iphone was the best choice i ever made! however i switched from verizon to att to do it about 3 months ago, and now verizon is getting the iphone in like a week!!! oh well, i still LOVE my iphone 🙂

  20. Shannon on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

I loooove this curry cabbage that I make… but it makes the whole house stink for weeks!

  21. Ashley @ Will Run for Food on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

Team Droid! 😉 But only because Verizon wasn’t offering the iPhone yet…

  22. Kyla on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

    sauerkraut! sooo yummy.

    and garlic 🙂

my boyfriend loves my breath, haha!

  23. Natalie O on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

iPhone all the way! I’m using it as we speak. U get used to the keyboard after a while.

    Love stinky cheese! Especially gorgonzola…

  24. Christina on January 13, 2011 at 5:25 pm

Iphone all the way!!!! Two apps you MUST download (which are free of course) are Shazam and MapmyRun. If you hear a song on the radio but don’t know who is performing it… you press Shazam! and you find out in seconds. Basically its amazing 🙂 Also, no matter where I am, MapmyRun will track how far I walk or run so I can know my speed and distance without a pedometer. Once again AMAZING!

  25. Lauren @ Fun, Fit and Fabulous! on January 13, 2011 at 5:26 pm

You will LOVE the iPhone! I read blogs on it all day, and you will get used to the keyboard!

  26. Caree @ Fit-Mama! on January 13, 2011 at 5:27 pm

congrats on the iphone! I LOVE mine and I don’t know what I would do without it!!!

  27. MMiller on January 13, 2011 at 5:27 pm

I don’t have either one…but would love one! My kids both have the androids and love them! About 3 years ago, my Brother-in-law went into AT&T to see about a new phone…he told them he didn’t want an Iphone, and then told them everything he wanted from the phone…they told him he needed an iphone for all he wanted! He reluctantly got one and he absolutely LOVES it! He even upgraded to the newest one last year! He can’t live without it!

  28. Kasi on January 13, 2011 at 5:28 pm

I am team crack berry and iPAD! Love the combo of both of those. I want to be able to view my Internet on a bigger screen than an iPhone when am on the go!

  29. Gill (snaxandthecity) on January 13, 2011 at 5:29 pm

definitely iphone! although i recently switched to HTC in a mad fit of ‘being different’. big mistake!

i love tuna too – but i’ve also had many a lid mishap. die.

  30. Nicole @ Making Good Choices on January 13, 2011 at 5:35 pm

I will be getting the iphone when it comes out at the beginning of Feb on Verizon! so excited!

  31. Whitney on January 13, 2011 at 5:41 pm

Team iPhone. I honestly cannot imagine my life without it!

  32. Amy on January 13, 2011 at 5:42 pm

I’ve slacked on making juice too for the same reason! Too many parts to clean!

I love my iPhone, but don’t like the lack of coverage I get with it. It works most of the time when I’m out and about, but the signal at my house is horrible. I’m constantly missing calls! 🙁

  33. Roselyn on January 13, 2011 at 5:46 pm

I went from a BB to an iPhone and OMG why the heck didn’t I do it sooner?! If it could massage my feet, I’d marry my iPhone. 🙂

  34. kayli (Running on Sunshine) on January 13, 2011 at 5:49 pm

Team iPhone! The possibilities are endless. You will love 🙂

Favorite stinky food: I make my homemade vinaigrettes with A LOT of vinegar. Whenever I eat salads in class, everyone around me starts sniffing and saying “What is that smell?” Oops 🙂

  35. Leanne (For Health's Sake) on January 13, 2011 at 5:51 pm

I used to have a crackberry but changed to iphones… the only thing i miss is BBM 🙁

My fave stinky food is anything with GARLIC! Ohmygod if I could I would put garlic in everything. I love it so much. I guess this is where you would say Lurve.

  36. Kim on January 13, 2011 at 5:53 pm

Verizon gets the IPHONE Feb 10th – so I can’t wait to turn in my blackberry for one! I have all the other Apple stuff, so time to get on board!

  37. nicole on January 13, 2011 at 6:03 pm

iPhone, for sure. You can do a lot more with it! Favorite stinky food is bleu cheese, yummy.

  38. Amber on January 13, 2011 at 6:03 pm

I have had an iPhone from their beginning but became tired of dropped calls and locked up hardware. I just switched to the Droid powered Aria and omg- best platform ever. You can pretty much run the universe off this thing. If you haven’t gone to the darkside yet, consider an Android phone.

  39. lindsay on January 13, 2011 at 6:03 pm

oh I’ve been wanting to cross over too. Let me know how you like it!

  40. Cheryl Lynn on January 13, 2011 at 6:04 pm

I love my iPhone, I started with a 3G and now have the 4, LOVE IT! many different apps to get. Have fun with it. ?

  41. Carrie on January 13, 2011 at 6:05 pm

    iPhone for the win!

  42. Lindsay on January 13, 2011 at 6:11 pm

    Team Droid! 🙂

  43. LisaG on January 13, 2011 at 6:28 pm

iPhone, broccoli , salmon, & pickles. Loved the pilot’s post.

  44. Amber L on January 13, 2011 at 6:34 pm

I have a BB too and was considering switching to an iphone in February when Verizon carries them, but I feel the same way about the keypad! I used to try texting on my husband’s old blackberry touch screen and it was awful! I fear that I will hate texting on the iphone too. I am thinking about getting the droid that has the sliding key pad.

  45. Stefanie on January 13, 2011 at 6:37 pm

  48. Kristina @ spabettie on January 13, 2011 at 6:52 pm

I have a smartphone (sprint, so the 4G EVO – which is AWESOME) but I really miss my calendar from Palm. that is the only thing.

    4G is amazing fast. 😀

  49. Josephine @ Creating a Positive Life on January 13, 2011 at 6:54 pm

I am a crackberry convert to iPhone as well. You won’t regret it! Be careful because you might become too attached, I just wrote about that on my blog today 🙂

My top apps are: facebook, groupon, daily tracker, organizer, and my net diary, there are sooo many possibilities.

  50. Liz @ Tip Top Shape on January 13, 2011 at 6:56 pm

I’m actually tackling the Iphone vs Blackberry thing right now. I’m getting a new phone but can’t decide which to get!
