Fave cold weather gear + a giveaway- ENDED
Welcome to Tucson, winter.
I have to say, I was a little bit excited when I pulled out my beloved purple Scuba hoodie this morning.
It felt so weird to easily zip it, instead of awkwardly trying to zip it over a large pregnant belly like last year, even though I do kinda miss the belly. I love the soft fabric, the cozy hood and the thumbholes, of course. While it never gets cold enough to warrant working out in a sweatshirt out here, it’s definitely one of my favorite cold weather pieces.
Also on the list: my new arm sleeves that I bought for the race a few weeks ago.
It’s a perfect way to keep warm, without having to commit to a long-sleeved shirt. You get too hot, you take the sleeves off and, in my case, stuff them in your shirt to give you some crazy-looking bumps.
I also love running tights, ear warming headbands and mittens when it’s time for outdoor workouts in the cold. As much as I love all of the extras, hoodies will always be my favorite! I adore so many different styles and brands.
My friends at Under Armour kindly offered to giveaway a fleece storm hoodie to a lucky Fitnessista reader, if you’re looking for an extra way to stay cozy during your workouts, or to and from the gym.

Coming from Wisconsin I feel I am well-versed in hoodies. My fave winter workout is the treadmill! I just pop in a dvd and get moving. |

Last winter was my first time running outside during an Ohio winter, and it was much better than I anticipated!! I’ll say that is my favorite right now because I’m looking forward to getting out for a run this weekend 🙂

I love finding a treadmill near the window to see the snow falling!
I’m loving yoga and always walking! I just subscribed to your YouTube channel. I’ve been reading your blog for a long time but just recently checked out you tube.
My favorite winter workout is during Christmas. My
Treadmill is in my living room where I can look
At my Christmas tree ;). I just love the holidays 😉
I’m a winter runner. I love cozying up in my warm running gear. I’m such a junky that I’ll be running a half in February…6.5 months pregnant!
Still searching for one??! Haha… but getting my bum out for a hike with the doggies probably makes me happiest no matter how cold 🙂

Running when it’s flurry-ing outside is one of the most fun things ever! So beautiful!
A long run through light snow flurries!!
I really like hot yoga. In the winter if cold wind gets in my ears I get awful headaches and earaches so I definitely prefer an indoor workout.
Just subscribed! My favorite winter workout is snowboarding. Does that count? I also really enjoy cold, snowy runs.
my favorite winter workout is taking a lightly heated yoga or pilates class, nice and toasty
also subscribed 🙂
I move most of my workouts inside, taking different classes, but if its not too cold, I enjoy running outside.
I typically try not to workout outside in the winter but I am currently training for a half marathon in the spring (and hate treadmills) so it looks like running will be my new favorite 🙂 thanks!

Running all bundled up! Love the crisp, cool air!
My favorite is running!
I subscribe to your channel and live in Michigan where it’s super cold for most of the running season. I love the Underarmour tops!
Running, definitely the fav for winter! Subscribed!
I love an early morning run right after a fresh snow fall. It’s dark and peaceful, and the only sound you hear is the snow crunching below your feet. Def a subscriber to your youtube channel, love the workouts!
I’d say snow skiing would be my favorite workout, if I lived near any snowy mountains. In the meantime, since I live in Louisiana, running will have to do.

Ever since I moved to Phoenix from Minnesota, winter running has been pretty awesome. Here, it feels really cold but there are is no snow to slip on. Win win!
I love cross country skiing!!
I am loving Bikram Yoga right now – I just moved from LA to New England, so while I am still getting used to the freezing weather, it feels so nice to be HOT for 90 minutes without stressing about my heating bill! I also like gathering some friends to do a Physique 57 DVD in my apartment – all the girls moving around in there is definitely the best way to warm up my living room AND get an awesome workout.
I’ve been a longtime subscriber to your YouTube channel and I love it!
I love working up a sweat in a nice hot yoga class when it’s chilly outside.
My fav is long walks outside with my dog. He LOVES long walks and can handle much longer walks now that it’s not so hot outside. Win-win for both of us 🙂
Love boot camp in the winter!
What a great giveaway! I love brisk winter runs in the snow – it’s just getting myself out the door that’s the tough part. 😉
Running! It is so refreshing and energizing in the crisp air.
Already a subscriber! (and I’m “BonnieLang1” on YouTube too!) 😀

i love running in the cold! it’s way better than running in the heat!
My favorite winter workout definitely is yoga. Getting my muscles nice and stretched and warm seems like it carries throughout the day!
I love a good run in the snow! But when it’s way too cold to sweat outside, Turbo Kick class at the gym. 🙂
Any workout indoors because it gets too cold outside! But this winter has been mild so a running outside lately has been awesome!
I love running while the sun comes up on chilly winter mornings!
The winter is a tough season. Although the “holiday” feeling is in the air, it is one of the most stressful times of the year. That is why it is even more important to keep up with a fitness regime during this time (keep those endorphines elevated)! School begins to wind down (or more like coasting uphill) towards finals, and I find myself carrying a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. I am an endurance runner, and where I live, the winters are pretty moderate in temperature, so I love bundling up in leggings and ear warming headbands and going on a run. The cool, crisp air is so refreshing during a long run, and the sky is that beautiful clear blue.
But when my bones feel too cold, and not up for a run, hot yoga is the way to go. It just loosens up all those tight muscles, and gets a real sweat going — which is sometimes hard to get during the winter! After a hot yoga session, I can feel the blood pulsing through my body again, and although I am exhausted, I also feel energized — a wonderful pick-me-up during the cold season!
I am a subscriber to your YouTube channel, and LOVE your videos. Never have been able to find workout videos online that have suited my style as well as yours!
Thanks for blogging 🙂
My favorite winter workout is my favorite all-the-time workout – running!
Still running outside 🙂
I LOVE early morning runs when it’s cold out! Feels so good to breathe in the cool air!
My fave “winter” workout is running. I say “winter” in quotations because its still warm enough to be running outside!! : )
I still love running outside. As long as it’s not below 20! 🙂
I like to run outside right before sunset! I subscribe to your youtube (liis177)
I love running outside during the winter…when it’s not toooo cold, of course!
I live in Colorado so that would come in handy for trips to the gym!
I do enjoy running outside in the winter, except when it’s snowing and below zero…then I’d have to say an indoor weights session!
My favorite winter workout is probably weight training. With the extra food (*cough*) that I naturally eat, I find that it’s a little easier to add muscle and I feel really strong during all my workouts.
