Fave cold weather gear + a giveaway- ENDED

Welcome to Tucson, winter.

I have to say, I was a little bit excited when I pulled out my beloved purple Scuba hoodie this morning.

Hoodie

It felt so weird to easily zip it, instead of awkwardly trying to zip it over a large pregnant belly like last year, even though I do kinda miss the belly. I love the soft fabric, the cozy hood and the thumbholes, of course. While it never gets cold enough to warrant working out in a sweatshirt out here, it’s definitely one of my favorite cold weather pieces.

Also on the list: my new arm sleeves that I bought for the race a few weeks ago.

Race stuff

It’s a perfect way to keep warm, without having to commit to a long-sleeved shirt. You get too hot, you take the sleeves off and, in my case, stuff them in your shirt to give you some crazy-looking bumps.

I also love running tights, ear warming headbands and mittens when it’s time for outdoor workouts in the cold. As much as I love all of the extras, hoodies will always be my favorite! I adore so many different styles and brands.

My friends at Under Armour kindly offered to giveaway a fleece storm hoodie to a lucky Fitnessista reader, if you’re looking for an extra way to stay cozy during your workouts, or to and from the gym.

I am subscribed to your channel, I love morning yoga in the winter, though I live in San Diego so much like Tucson, winter means 60 degrees outside. I love how the cool air and a cup of hot tea after practice makes me feel invigorated and as if each cell in my body is awake.

I have been loving hitting up the treadmill and watching my FAV shows while getting my workout in ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite winter workout would for sure be a spin class! Gets you nice and warm and is indoors!!

  4. Jacquelynn on December 12, 2012 at 3:14 pm

I absolutely love bundling up and going for long walks when it is cold outside. I love the brisk air and occasional snowflakes… I feel like I could walk forever on those days ๐Ÿ™‚

I am currently a grad student and Bikram Yoga has pretty much been clutch this year! Relaxing and warming. Clears my mind. So necessary ๐Ÿ™‚

Last year, I was training for my first marathon, so I was running outside, no matter the weather. (I didn’t have a gym membership. I had no choice.) This year, I’m training for a 10K, so I’m running indoors on the ‘mill. I like that plus circuit training workouts/videos.

My favorite winter workout is teaching my dance class at my university. Heated dance studio in New England winter? Yes please!

  9. Abby on December 12, 2012 at 3:15 pm

I live in Colorado and sometimes it is just too icy to get outside for a run. My favorite indoor workouts are insanity, hiit on the good old dreadmill, and of course the fitnessista’s tabata workouts!

I actually love running outdoors in the winter. Sure it’s cold at first, but it’s so peaceful and quiet–mainly because everyone else has the good sense to stay inside ๐Ÿ˜›

I love running in the winter weather! If it’s unbearably cold outside, I’ll go for a 2 – 2.5 mile run on the treadmill inside while watching TV.
