It’s All Good

Heyyyyy 😀 How ya doin? Thank you SO much for all of your kind and lovely comments regarding the fact that I was robbed of my Zumba. I can always count on ya’ll to cheer me up 😀

To make things even better, today was full of goodness:

1. A glorious smoothie from Main Squeeze with Vega Smoothie To-Go (vanilla almondilla flavor, from a baggie in my purse), strawberry, banana, apple juice and almond butter

smoothie

2. A 3 egg white puff with the most ridiculous hoity toity goat cheese from Whole Paycheck. All I needed was a little sliver- it is SUPER rich and creamy.

3. I sold my car!!!!! For now, I’m driving Jeni’s pilot’s SUV until I get my new wheels (either tomorrow or Thursday at the latest). A lot of ya’ll keep asking me to post what my new car is, but to be honest, I feel weird doing that. So here’s a pic of my old car, that I said goodbye to today.

Goodbye Celi. You were good to me <3

Something to talk about: What’s been *good* about your day? Let’s get some positive energy flowing around 🙂

Today’s tip: Try doing weight exercises with dumbbells that you would usually do with barbells and vise versa, and use the pulley cable system for some of your favorite dumbbell moves. It’s an easy way to make a change in the usual routine and confuse our muscles into getting stronger and leaner.

I didn’t have the chance earlier, but I just wanted to say that I’m sorry about your Zumba situation. Hopefully better things are to come. You never know, right? Let’s see….what’s been good about my day? This is silly, but the weather is significantly cooler than it has been lately, which means that I won’t sweat to death later on at my daughter’s soccer practice. I’m sure my kid is happy about that, too. Simple things make me happy.

  2. Sana on June 15, 2010 at 4:58 pm

Share whatever you feel comfortable with on your bloggy! I am sure your new ride will be good to you :)!

  3. Heather on June 15, 2010 at 5:04 pm

What’s good @ my day: hubby declaring his undying devotion, faithfulness, and love for me….and interjecting it all with the statement,”Heather, you are an amazing woman.Your farts stink to hell. But,you are amazing.”
    LOVE that man!!

  4. Katherine on June 15, 2010 at 5:23 pm

whats good today? Finally weighed myself and I’ve lost 15 lbs in 6 months and also I’m having comfort food for dinner which has kept me going all day at work!

  5. Sarah Anne on June 15, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Gina, so sorry to hear about the Zumba robbery! I think you’ll do awesome though ELSEWHERE and will be happier with the time spent with the Pilot. Just sucks that it happened like that. What happened to communication? Sometimes I wonder if with all the interwebs and all, real honest to goodness communication has gone away to dust!

Good thing that happened (or is happening!) – I’m going to visit my best friend in the hospital after work. She had her 2nd little girl in 2 years yesterday. I’m SUPER close to her first, and Auntie Sarah is excited to meet the newest little one! Also, the day started off with rain but the sun is now peaking out and making the new leaves on the trees look so beautiful and bright green.

AND…I already have dinner prepped and ready to go for when we get home! Seafood clubhouses with a little chipotle-cilanto mayo! (Lox and shrimp! Hee haw!)

My sister and i are training for a half-marathon in july and today we ran 12 miles—the farthest either one of us has ever ran!!!! we had the most uplifting and glorious feeling afterwards. we are still texting each other with comments like “i can’t believe we did that,” “that was awesome,” etc. i am also sitting on my couch smelling an amazing new cooking light recipe baking in the oven. today is my 6th day of summer vacation…this in and of itself makes me the most happy person on the planet. …it was a long school year with lots of negative things going on between staff so i am happy to be in the confines of my home and the gym and distanced from it all. ahhhh….*sigh*

  7. Jocelyn on June 15, 2010 at 5:52 pm

SOmething good about my day: I got through my workout without giving up! I did 2 minutes of walking and 2 minutes of jogging for a total of 45 minutes 🙂

  8. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on June 15, 2010 at 5:55 pm

My best friend is coming home after not being able to have communication with him for a month! I’m baking him his favorite cookies as we speak! Just have to wait for the almonds to cool before I throw them in the food processor for some Mexican Wedding Cookie action 😀

  9. Lindsay (Summit Sandwiches) on June 15, 2010 at 5:56 pm

I started marathon training today! I ran 3 easy miles, and it felt fantastic. This is the start of my journey to something big and crazy and challenging and awesome. That is what’s great about my day!

I didn’t have the best day :/ but I enjoyed a really awesome yoga session that I found at yogadownload.com (you’ve recommended that site many times, and now I know why!) – I did a free 20 minute session of power yoga #5, and it was lovely. I feel a bit more centered and a lot more stretched out. Now I just need to let myself have a good cry, and that will be that. 🙂

  12. Kristina on June 15, 2010 at 6:03 pm

what’s been good about my day?? I got to have breakfast with Jason before he left today, it’s been rainy & cold so I’ve been snuggling with the dachshund, and the BEST ???

I got my Garlic Gold today!! 🙂 WOOT!

I’m making something good with it right now…

I’ve been begging my parents to take me out for Indian lately…maybe they’ll finally give in tomorrow 🙂 One good thing about my day was that I got done work early- always nice to have a little extra time to myself!

  14. Mel on June 15, 2010 at 6:06 pm

What’s been good about my day? Well, I read a few Chapters in “The Happiness Project” and I tried some of her Gratefulness & meditation ideas. I made a game plan for dealing with 2 sources of stress. One was a person and one was my road rage. I had a wonderful time with my person issue and my drive home was lovely 🙂 Baby steps…

I had an awesome phone interview for a job in NYC!! That also includes 3-6 months paid training in Japan!!! Keep your fingers crossed! I need to get the h*$l out of Chattanooga!!! I got fired from my job out of nowhere and my replacement was one of my favorite customers! It hurt much like I’m sure losing the Zumba gig did, but honestly I am so much happier now, something better will come along!

  17. Angie on June 15, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Sooo sorry about the robbery…dont feel bad…our base gym sucks too. they keep changing their hours to hardly be open on the weekend, which sucks since the new pt program starts the weekend is a big draw. They also dont want to let the head instructor have a sunday afternoon class because they dont want someone to cover it. the gym closes at 5.

The good for me today: I re-enlisted today for FOUR more years! GO AIR FORCE!

  18. Queen of Fitness on June 15, 2010 at 6:20 pm

i just went back and read your zumba post. to follow along with the theme for today…you can always start your own zumba class when you are ready somewhere in v-dizzy as you affectionately call it. i’m sure some of your base students would follow you anywhere. i drive 50 minutes one way to attend the class of an instructor i love because her class is so fun and uplifting. zumba is such a huge fitness craze that i am sure you would be able to start a new class anywhere (a YMCA, YWCA, dance school, fire hall, roller skating rink or elementary school). you can also use this time to attend other people’s zumba classes and just simply enjoy being a participant. in the classes i go to we have a number of licensed zumba instructors and the lead instructor lets us come up and teach a song every week for variety. did you get your new ZIN 27? love the latin dance! if all else fails…you can always put in your ZIN dvds and zumba on your own at home with beto.

  20. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on June 15, 2010 at 6:26 pm

Congrats on your car sale!! One positive thing for me today was that I attended a new group ex class for the first time (a blend of yoga, tai chi and pilates) and I absolutely LOVED it! It made me actually listen to what my body was feeling and the instructor was so inspiring. She talked a bit during the final part of the class about being thankful, and by the end, I most certainly was a very thankful person!

Tonight couldn’t get any better! 🙂

You are amazing and I have no doubt you will be back to teaching fun and inspiring classes in no time. And I do believe everything happens for a reason…. 49. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on June 16, 2010 at 2:19 am

“I actually made negative dollars working at the base gym since it’s so far from my house. “–from your last post…that was me teaching yoga in AZ. BEwteen gas all over the valley, the low pay for yoga teachers, taxes, and the fact that 75-90 min classes + travel time..that’s like 3 hrs a class. And yeah, that’s negative dollars. Especially hubs taking off work so i could teach yoga so he had to watch Skylar. Totally gotcha on that one.

So sorry about the Zumba situation but happy that you’re taking this time to update things and get things in order.

And the car. I could make a guess or two…I am guessing black and german engineered.

    Congrats on whatever it is!
    🙂

    • Fitnessista on June 16, 2010 at 8:21 am

i hear ya, for sure! it was a 30 min drive for me each way, and i had to get there early for the stereo to get set up.. blah blah. are you going to teach in san diego??
hahah you know me so well 🙂
dead on, but it’s white 😉

      • Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on June 17, 2010 at 3:21 am

Girl I don’t even want to teach. How lame is that…but it’s like I have been doing it for 10 yrs and I am enjoying the break and not stressing about devoting 3 freakin hours per class, to teach one freakin class 🙂 For 20 bucks. Not really the best use of my time. I could teach if I wanted to…at like 10 places but it’s just not worth it. God that sounds so bad but fitness instructors are just not well paid as you know and it’s so much driving and schlepping for so little $. You really have to do it b/c you love it and want to help people. Not for the cash-ola 🙂

My guess is a 325 in white or a C350 in white. I kinda think that’s how you roll 🙂

        • Fitnessista on June 17, 2010 at 7:53 am
