Raw-mazing Giveaway
Hey everyone! Hope youโve had a great day so far <3 Thank you for all of your advice regarding whether I should give running another chance. Iโm still thinking it out and want to talk it over with the pilotโฆ so we shall see ๐
Soโฆ Bikram is HOT.
(Source)
Not so much Bikram himself โmy apologies if you find him seksi, heโs just not my type- but the yoga oven torture chamber. I LOVE the heat and it usually feels amazing, but this morning the air was thick, uncomfortably hot and took a lot of deep breathing to get through the 90 minutes. It was a very, very challenging class.
When it was over, I took my schweaty self to Whole Paycheck and sipped a carrot, apple, beet, ginger juice
and also got hot bar for breakfast.
Plantains, squash and zucchini, shrimp salad, Babylonian Treasure salad, and my beloved vegan miso slaw.
I came back to my auntโs casa, said my โsee ya laterโs and got on the road back to Valdizzy.
Iโm about to pick up Viesa from the kennel and head to the base gym, but before I goโฆ
a GIVEAWAY from Ani Phyo!
I had the pleasure of meeting Ani while I was at 105degrees– not only is she totally gorgeous, but sheโs also kind and personable.
This giveaway is extra exciting because Iโve been anxiously awaiting the release of this cookbook since last year.
Aniโs Raw Food Essentials: Recipes and Techniques for Mastering the Art of Live Food
I LOVE Aniโs Phyoโs recipes. Theyโre simple and many donโt require fancy gadgets, like dehydrators, spiralizers, mandonlines, etc.

I love Jamie Oliver! Plus he’s cute.
My favorite chef is probably Randy Zweiban of Province in Chicago. Amazing. Every dish he makes, every time I’ve been there, has impressed me, hands down.
Jamie Oliver. I really enjoy watching him do anything in the kitchen, but especially loved watching him go to bat with the crazy midwest lunch ladies.
Alex Guarnaschelli- I just love the way she talks about the food as she is preparing
Barbara Lynch in Boston — she is self made and genuine. Her food is amazing and her restaurants are a treat!
Hands down it’s Rocco. Love me some Rocco! And he is training for an Ironman!!
Sadly, the chef whose recipes end up in my kitchen most is Rachael Ray. That’s just because I only have a small amount of time to cook, and she caters to that. My favorite would have to be Alton Brown though. I love that he looks at the science behind food and why we should eat each thing. I learn more from him then just HOW to make something. I learn WHY I should make it.
I’ve never even opened a raw cookbook, but I think it would be a great new avenue to attempt!
Not to be completely cheesy but my mom is definitely my favorite chef ๐ Her meals are pretty darn delicious ๐
My favorite chef is Ina Garten–such a classy lady!
This is tough because i am currently obsessed with the Food Network and clean eating. I have to say Bobby Flay is currently my fav. chef – I like getting different ideas from him and then putting my own spin on it!
My favorite chef is Giada De Laurentiis. Her bubbly personality and excitement are contagious!
My favorite chef would have to be Anthony Bourdain. I love No Reservations, and while other people often find his sense of humor abrasive, I love his cynicism and blatant honesty. I also love how gracious he comes across on No Reservations. I hate watching TV shows where Americans go abroad and look like total jerks, making fun of local cuisine, refusing to eat it (so insulting), or spitting it out. HUGE pet peeve … rant over ๐
I love Bobby Flay!
My Favorite chef is my dad! Ok, he’s not a trained chef or anything, but I swear anything he puts on the grill ends up tasting like pure heaven!
I am a Food Network lover and I especially like Claire Robinson’s food b/c it is always a simple, 5 ingredient recipe with great results!
I love my dad’s cooking. It’s rare that he does it, but AMAZING!
My favorite chef if Giada de Laurentiis. Her food is always simple and healthy. Plus it is Italian, my favorite type of food!
I’d have to say my grandfather – he makes the best split pea soup after Christmas with leftover ham and the yummiest pies! I’d love to try Ani’s raw cookbook!
Alice Waters. Living in California, she inspires everything that I make.
Since I have made some changes to the way I eat in the last year ( veggie/vegan) I would have to say in all honesty I get my BEST recipes from Mama Pea!! She has fabulous recipes that have helped make eating clean easier ๐
My fave is Giada de Laurentiis. She’s always more concerned about full flavors and good textures than calorie count. A little bit of good fat can go a loooong way!
Morimoto!!!!
I have not had a bad Mama Pea recipe. All of her recipes turn out so well.
I love Dorie Greenspan for desserts and would have to go with Rick Bayless for savoury fare! Thanks for the opportunity!
Bobby Flay all the way!
Alton Brown – He has so much knowledge and breaks it down real easy for me, or anyone.
I love Ellie Krieger her recipes are so healthful and easy to prepare! Also love Ani Phyo!!
Bobby Flay is my favorite chef!
Id have to say it would be Matt Amsden hands down!
My favorite chef is my mom, Debbie Duggan. She has a culinary school and catering business in wine country in San Luis Obispo, California. Nothing beats my mom’s peanut butter pie….graham cracker crust, cream cheese and peanut butter filling, and chocolate frosting. YUM!
I enjoy watching a lot of chefs but I will have to bring back an old fave. I like Mollie Katzen – she was my first foray into vegetarian food and I love the homey way she presents her recipes etc… I am not a vegetarian but I am a whole foods enthusiast (both the market and the eating style) so I also like Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean cookbooks.
Jaime Curtis is cute, but I like Bobby Flay’s eats!
When I lived in China, my Chinese teacher would cook for us all the time. I have never had such fresh, tasty food! So, Sophie, my dear Chinese teacher wins the title. As for famous chefs– Giada De Laurentiis is the best!
Marcus Samuelsson. Such a kind soft, spirit and a passion for food. Plus he always infuses Afrikan inspirations into his dishes which most chefs either aren’t familiar or simply can’t do. Loves him.
Jamie Oliver is where it’s at ๐
I LOVE Tyler Florence! His food is great, what I call “Sunday food”. And he’s not bad to look at, either ๐
I’m going to have to second the Mollie Katzen vote! I have fallen in love with the Moosewood cookbook and plan to make a trip to Ithaca just to visit the restaurant!
I love Giada de Laurentis. Not only does she create healthy dishes, but she looks like she is in good shape as well.
My favorite chef is on the food network – Giada!
Favorite chef – my brother. Besides being talented – he’s worked at some of the best restaurants in our area (East Coast) – he’s a sweetheart. ๐
Hmmmm….Bobby Flay would be my favorite celebrity chef, even being vegan his food looks amazing and I love his attitude!! I also love Ani Phyo’s cookbooks. Yummy!!
That’s a tough one – I don’t know if I have just ONE favorite. I guess I would say Paula Deen. She is just so fun. Although I rarely make her recipes because I’m trying to be healthier – but I would watch her anyways just for entertainment.
Favorite chef is definitely Jamie Oliver. Sexy in a rough-and-tumble schoolboy sort of way, with the adorable accent to boot. I love the way he breaks down every recipe and makes it accesible to home cooks, whether its a fancy schmancy or just plain easy recipe. His books are also fabulous, because the photography is amazing and you actually get to know him as a person thru his anecdotes, recipes, pictures, etc. I also like that he encourages local and seasonal eating as well as organic, farm-fresh, free-range, etc! (His fam is also adorablee!!)
I do love me some Bobby Flay. But I think I like recipes from Giada De Laurentiis more than most, maybe Ina Garten, too? I love Food Network.:) My favorite restaurant chef (not cooking show chef) is Lachlan McKinnon Patterson of Frasca in Boulder, CO.
On TV it is Ina Garten! But I would love to try a Thomas Keller or Bobby Flay (love his personality- way of combining flavors- etc) restaurant.
I just love Giada DeLaurentis, I love her recipes and plus I think she’s so cute. I’m also currently loving the Cake Boss on TV although I don’t know if he counts as a chef =)
My current fav chefs are Tanya Bernard and Sarah Kramer. As I am new to being Vegan my cookbook library is not too extensive, But I find thier recipes in “How it all Vegan” easy to follow and yummy ๐
I really enjoy Mark Bittman’s recipes – they are classic and always reliably tasty.
Anthony Bourdain – I love No Reservations!
My favorite chef would have to be Rachel Ray. I dont like her annoying bubbly personality, but her recipes are fast and easy and that is just what I need being a working mom with 2 boys and a hungry daddy ๐
