Sushi Foul

(The title of this post *should be* “Foul Sushi” but that didn’t sound as nice, haha)

Hi guys! How are ya?? It’s 8am and I’ve already taught bootcamp and done TurboFire today! Who am I?! 😉 (Not a morning person)

Last night, I made a double batch of macaroons to take to HLS- will be making more today and tomorrow.

roon

And met the girls at Ichiban since it was our friend Jayme’s birthday.

I started with the standard soup and salad with ginger dressing:

soup

salad

Got a seaweed salad:

seaweed

and a roll that was wrapped in cucumber and had a thousand (more like 4) different kinds of fish and avocado:
roll of sickness

Of course, our friend Sus ordered the “Pineapple boat and birthday song” for Jayme 😀

singers

pineapple

It was awesome.

I brought the pilot home a piece of Jayme’s red velvet birthday cake… but the frosting off the top was missing. I have no idea what happened to it 😉

cake

Heh heh.

I had a blasty hanging out with the girls, especially since the pilot was flying late. The bummer is that the beautiful cucumber roll was not so beautiful.. I was up all night not feelin’ so dandy. I don’t think I’ll be having sushi again for a while after that one.

This morning, I taught bootcamp, Turbo-ed my face off, munched some bfast and am about to take Bella bootay to the groomer.

The rest of the day’s looking like this:

-Get a memory card for the new camera so I can start playing with it!

-Hair appointment (deep conditioning treatment)

-Juice with Jeni

-Make more ‘roons

-Wives’ meeting

Hope you have a great day!

See ya soon <3

Gina

Upcoming: I was waiting until all of my friends and my boss knew what the dealio was, and now that everyone knows, I can post where I’m moving TOMORROW 😀 Any guesses?

    Texas?

  3. Lindsey @ Sound Eats on August 10, 2010 at 8:33 am

My guesses are Tucson or Orlando, because of family. Orlando if you still need/ want to be closer to Valdizzy or Tucson if you want to be closer to your immediate familia. Although I’m selfishly hoping it’s Jacksonville! 😉

Wherever it is, I know it’ll be the best for you and I’m excited to watch your journey. 🙂

  4. Heather (Perspective Is Everything) on August 10, 2010 at 8:36 am

ewww, sorry about the sushi. ick!
    I’d guess you’re moving to Dallas/Ft.Worth.

  5. Brittany on August 10, 2010 at 8:37 am

Didn’t you say you were moving to Virginia so we could hang out and eat macaroons all day long. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on August 10, 2010 at 8:38 am

haha! that would be lovely 🙂

      • Laura J. on August 10, 2010 at 9:18 am

I second the move to VA 🙂

  6. Tina on August 10, 2010 at 8:39 am

Your days are always so busy! Even after already getting so much done this morning. I hate when I eat something delicious and it has me feeling gross later on.

  7. Holly @ couchpotatoathlete on August 10, 2010 at 8:40 am

I love getting up early and getting stuff done! Especially a good workout like TurboFire 🙂

I’m hoping you’re moving to MN so you can make me macaroons all day 🙂

  8. rachael on August 10, 2010 at 8:48 am

You have had quite a packed morning already! I hope you’re moving CT and opening a bakery so I have unlimited access to your macaroons. 🙂

  9. allison @ livingoneday on August 10, 2010 at 8:53 am

eek. i think it’s because you ate sushi on a monday! i dont care what people say – i am a huge believer that restaurants do not order fish past thursday, so monday rolls are not a good choice. hope you’re feeling better!! cant wait to hear where you’re moving!

    • Fitnessista on August 10, 2010 at 9:20 am

gah! wish i would have thought of that!!

  10. Jessica @ How Sweet on August 10, 2010 at 8:56 am

I hate getting bad sushi. My husband STILL cannot eat it because he got some 3 years ago that was terrible. It still makes his skin crawl!

  11. jenna on August 10, 2010 at 8:56 am

aww i wish i were coming to hls to eat macaroons with you! i hope you have a blast! i can’t wait to hear where you are moving next! 🙂

  12. Nicole @ Making Good Choices on August 10, 2010 at 8:56 am

I think Orlando or Tuscon too!

  13. Whitney @ Whitinspired on August 10, 2010 at 9:09 am

Ugh. I’m a new sushi eater and I’m
so scared to get anything raw for that reason!

    I’m going to guess Orlando!

  14. Kimberley on August 10, 2010 at 9:09 am

I’m going with the popular choice of Orlando or Tucson, too. Wherever it may be, hopefully there will be a Whole Foods, Trader Joes and a Bikram studio! (I’m currently 0/3 on those places. Boo!)

  15. Holly B on August 10, 2010 at 9:10 am

NYC!!….or perhaps Charlotte, since all the bloggies are doing it 😉

  16. Barbara on August 10, 2010 at 9:10 am

    Orlando.

  17. Rachel on August 10, 2010 at 9:15 am

    I’d guess….Orlando! That cake looks amaaaaazing 🙂

  18. Ash Bear on August 10, 2010 at 9:16 am

    Hey!

I’m glad you had fun with your girlfriends and I’m looking forward to hearing where you’ll be moving.
Also, I’m having some issues getting my Open Sky link to work for my launch post today. I use WordPress..think you can help? 🙂

    • Fitnessista on August 10, 2010 at 9:19 am

yes, do you have my cell number? text me

  19. Laury @ thefitnesdish on August 10, 2010 at 9:17 am

Getting up and getting things done is always fabulous! I don’t know how you’re not a slave to the computer with all the blogging though, I know I am! I hate when you get bad sushi 🙁 Have had to take the sushi break many times!

    Hmm…where are you moving….Florida??

  20. Teri [a foodie stays fit] on August 10, 2010 at 9:17 am

I’m guessing somewhere in Flordia. I can’t wait to find out!

  21. Jill on August 10, 2010 at 9:19 am

I am guessing somewhere close to your familia … Orlando or Arizona

  22. Laury @ thefitnesdish on August 10, 2010 at 9:19 am

PS–about cam…shoot everything in P (program mode) idk if you have photoshop, but to correct white balance, just take little eye dropper and click on anything white in the pic (not too bright white). I have a few photographer clients, they told me that was the easiest thing to do when you are a beginner. Shooting in RAW is the way to go…expect to add about 20+ minutes on to your blogging time though! It takes me a couple hours to post just a few pics, I guess I am meticulous.

    • Fitnessista on August 10, 2010 at 9:21 am

wow, good to know thank you! if i don’t have photoshop is there another way to do it??

      • Laury @ thefitnesdish on August 10, 2010 at 10:06 am

Your cam probably came with the software…there should be a white balance, RAW editor with it. I used it for a few days, but then sprung for photoshop elements 6 (which is pretty cheap under $70. online). The white balance just makes it the right color, more of a true color…just make sure you have enough lighting because the flash wont fire. To use the flash, put it on automatic, then let the flash open, and then put it back into P mode. Although, pics always look better when you use lighting other than the flash on the camera for some reason! I am no expert, but got the cam over a year ago, and get weekly “lessons” and tips from clients!

  23. Kara on August 10, 2010 at 9:27 am

I’m guessing Las Vegas because of Nellis Air Force Base there 🙂

  24. Liz @ Tip Top Shape on August 10, 2010 at 9:36 am

You did all of that before 8 AM?? Damn girl. I slept through all of that, haha. I really have no guesses for where you are moving…so I guess I will just have to wait! lol

  25. Amanda-The Nutritionist Reviews on August 10, 2010 at 9:44 am

What a fun dinner…especially the pineapple boat!

  26. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on August 10, 2010 at 9:45 am

Ew, that would scar me for a long time. I’m going to guess Alaska. You look like an Alaska kinda girl. Kidding. Near the family?

    • Fitnessista on August 10, 2010 at 9:56 am

      LOL

  27. Katie on August 10, 2010 at 9:45 am

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe atlanta?!!!

I dont know! I know though wherever you go , you will be happy, because u are a wonderful person and bring happiness wherever you go!

Have a great day! Sorry about the sushi, that stinks, bad sushi is DEF no fun : p

  28. Kirby on August 10, 2010 at 9:46 am

Realistic guess: Orlando or Tucson. Hopeful guess: somewhere in the northeast, specifically, north jersey/NYC area — I’d love to meet you and show you around! I think you would die of happiness if we went to the Mall at Short Hills, followed by a Bikram class 😉

    • Ryane on August 10, 2010 at 10:21 pm

Haha, yes… I can totally see Gina living at the mall at Short Hills!

  29. RhodeyGirl on August 10, 2010 at 9:47 am

    I’m guessing Tucson!!!

I have a gorgeous Roberto Cavalli shirt that no longer fits me.. do you want it?? I can bring it to HLS?!

    • Fitnessista on August 10, 2010 at 9:56 am

if you’re sure you don’t want it… thank you!!! <3

  31. Michelle @ Turning Over a New Leaf on August 10, 2010 at 10:01 am

Oooh, so sad about the sushi! I guess there’s always that risk…

Hope you get to go somewhere you want! 🙂

  32. Jackie (Peaces of Earth) on August 10, 2010 at 10:05 am

Sorry about the sushi!! The fact that you still got up, taught and worked out is crazy! Glad you’re feeling better.

I hope you are moving to San Diego. I’ll go eat Indian food wit you!! 🙂

  33. Heather (Heather's Dish) on August 10, 2010 at 10:15 am

blech…i hate when that happens with foods you love!

i’m guessing orlando…i feel like you’ve been going to florida a lot lately?!

  34. breakingsilence @ Freshman -15 on August 10, 2010 at 10:16 am

Guessing either Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tuscon.

  35. Jenn @ So Very Fit on August 10, 2010 at 10:19 am

Sorry to hear the sushi made you a bit sick. You’re a trooper for getting up that early and getting in a class and turbofire anyway!

That cake sure looks good. If I brought some home, the whole thing would probably go missing before BF ever saw any hehe. 🙂

  36. veronique @ hooked on health on August 10, 2010 at 10:25 am

Awww the sushi made you sick? 🙁
I love sushi, but I hate how it makes me sick sometimes too. I just don’t eat it enough for my tummy to handle it I guess?

What is turbofire all about? Sounds pretty energizing! I should try it out, as I am so busy and would love a solid workout-at-home regimen to save time and money.

  37. SuzieB on August 10, 2010 at 10:29 am

A new camera is so fun! Use the macro setting and natural light when possible. Can’t wait to see new pictures!

  38. Lauren on August 10, 2010 at 10:39 am

I also once had a cuke-wrapped sushi roll that didn’t sit well with me – not sure if it was bad fish, per se, but something was so funky about it. I’ve not ordered one of those again since. Bleck 😛

I hope you’re moving to bigger city (Orlando???) where Whole Foods and good shoe stores are plentiful!!

  39. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on August 10, 2010 at 10:54 am

I really hope Tucson, but since you haven’t seemed too happy about it I’m going to guess Kansas. Or Arkansas.

I’ve been craving sushi recently, but maybe not anymore. haha.

  40. Diana (Soap & Chocolate) on August 10, 2010 at 11:02 am

Hmm…I don’t have a good guess for where you’re moving because I don’t know where the relevant military bases are… How about Washington D.C.? I’m sure the Pentagon would love to have the Pilot.

Sorry to hear about the icky fishies. I had a similar experience the other night, though it wasn’t sushi-induced. In fact, I’m not sure what caused it. All I know is that I got up in the morning and exploded.

  41. Scargosun on August 10, 2010 at 11:05 am

The no fish on Monday is no more…ask Anthony Bourdain. 😉 I think you must have just gotten a baddie. Could have been the cucumber too. I so want to make raw macaroons. I had a cooked one this weekend and about died and went to heaven.

  42. Laura on August 10, 2010 at 11:07 am

Ok well I live in St. Louis and I know that Scott Air Force Base is just over the river in Illinois so I’m gonna be a homer and guess St. Louis 🙂

  43. Kat on August 10, 2010 at 11:07 am

    I’m guessing Las Vegas 🙂

  44. Kat (My fruity life) on August 10, 2010 at 11:10 am

    Macaroons for HLS?! Yes, please.

I eat sushi maybe once a month, and every time I do, I am always feeling a little iffy afterwards. I dont want to give up sushi so I’m thinking I’m going to just roll with veggie from now on…

  45. Lisa on August 10, 2010 at 11:15 am

I think you’re going to Tucson since you kept asking about trainer openings in Tucson on Twitter 🙂

  46. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on August 10, 2010 at 11:16 am

My guess is Arizona as well! Can’t wait to find out more 🙂

  47. Angela on August 10, 2010 at 11:26 am

So hard, I feel like its going to be somewhere in the South, but that’s all I know.

I’m sorry about the sushi, that’s always such a let down. At least it didn’t hold you back. You did so much this morning. Very impressive!

  48. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on August 10, 2010 at 11:30 am

I’m gonna say AZ or FL!! Can’t wait to find out!!

Bummer about the sushi!! That happened to me a few weeks ago, and I’m taking an indefinite break from sashimi. Definitely NOT something you want to see come back up again!! Hope you have a beautiful day love!!

  49. diana@mymarblerye on August 10, 2010 at 11:50 am

i’m getting ansy thinking of where you are moving…I NEED TO KNOWWWWW. At least the surprise will make my week go by faster…okay I need a life.hahahaha
