Sparkling Lemonade Iced Tea
Sparkling lemonade iced tea is a refreshing drink to cool off with as we head into these warmer months. It’s sweetened with Stevia, so you can enjoy a sweet drink without the sugar rush.
I had an amazing weekend with amazing people, and Iโm also wicked sore from teaching on Saturday. My biceps are killing me! I guess thatโs what two classes full of booty poppinโ and crazy arm movements will do to ya.
Breakfast:
Egg scramble with 2 eggs, chicken and salsa + a brown rice tortilla for pinching
Since last weekโs lunch date with the Pilot at Create Cafe, Iโve had their sparkling Stevia lemonade on the brain.
It was SO refreshing, not the least bit bitter and tasted like summer in a glass. I guess I have another reason to go their more often…along with the crazy good sweet potato fries with curry aioli.
Sparkling Lemonade Iced Tea
Iโve been wanting to make a new summer drink for a while and thought it would be fun to add a little twist on Createโs version by doing a tea lemonade.
Super refreshing and maybe a little caffeine buzz, plus a dose of antioxidants.
Hope you enjoy <3
Sparkling Lemonade Iced Tea
Ingredients
- 6–8 bags, tea of choice (I used ginger but black, green or fruity tea would be delicious, too. You want the tea to be STRONG since the sparkling water will dilute it)
- 3 C hot water
- Stevia to taste (or you can use honey if you prefer), optional
- 12 oz sparkling lemon-flavored water (or less sweetener and lemon-flavored Stevia, which is what I did)
- 3 lemons: 2 juiced, 1 sliced
Instructions
- Add the tea bags to the hot water.
- Sweeten with honey or Stevia to taste.
- Add lemon slices and lemon juice.
- Allow tea to steep for 15 minutes.
- Place in the fridge to chill overnight.
- Before serving, add the sparkling water and more sweetener if necessary.
- Drink out of a cute glass ๐
(theyโre called Babushkups and stack inside each other! I love them)
*This would also be lovely with some mint or berries mixed in
Looks like a new summer staple. When itโs toasty out, I make sure to hydrate with lots of water โ infused with berries and herbs is a fun way to switch it up – and I also love ice cold kombucha and eegeeโs in the summer.
Have a great day and Iโll see ya later with my review of the advanced TurboFire DVDs ๐
xoxo
Gina
For fun:

That drink looks so delicious and refreshing, I will have to try it soon.
BTW, I saw that Olivia is #4 on the top 10 baby names, well done :)!
http://moms.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/14/11679721-the-list-is-out-top-baby-names-for-2011-are?lite
i just saw that on the today show! i actually wish it wasn’t so popular, but we love the name so much
Do you call her Olivia or Livi at home?
both ๐ mostly her full name because i like to sing it to her ๐
Do you sing it like the Olivia cartoon theme song? That’s what I do to myself every time I read about her on your blog!
The lemonade sounds divine! I want to try this soon :).
I loveeee lemonade – thank you for this recipe! I hate ones that are loaded with sugar. I can also put in Starbucks’ passion tea bags with this to make my ultimate favourite summer drink, passion tea lemonade!
yes the tazo passion tea is amazing I mix it with there zen green tea to get the benfits of it. I need to make some soon!
That lemonade sounds delicious! I will definitely have to give it a try soon.
Oh, you fancy huh?
And most of all…. THRIFTY
This sparkling tea lemonade looks sooooo good. I have always dreamed about a drink with this combo but never thought it was possible. I can’t wait to try it! Thanks so much for your recipe ๐
How much stevia do you use?
i used maybe 4 servings? 1 serving is like 1/64 of a t, so 1/16 t?
Yummy! That tea looks delicious! Or rather, that Sparkling Arnold Palmer. ๐ Love the quote at the bottom, so utterly true.
LOVE the quote!!
Mmm, that tea sounds great and like it would hit the spot, big time!
That stevia lemonade looks wonderful! I could go for a glass right now. I’m trying for no caffeine all week so I need something else to drink, ๐
Can’t wait to read how the adv TurboFire DVDs are. I have the regular ones and am ready to try them out and see how they are.
Looks like a great dirnk!
Yes- I LOVE that workout inspiration. So true. I’m travelling right now, and trying to get some good movement in- but am definitely missing normal workouts! It’s amazing how different your body feels, and how much less energy I have!
As a Russian I grew up with traditional Matryoshkas (they were wooden dolls that stacked inside one another) so I can totally appreciate the awesomeness associated with them. I personally own measuring cups that are similar to your Babushkups and I adore them!
Thanks for the recipe. I shall be the envy of the actor compound. Actually, my castmates will just steal it from my fridge, I’m sure. ๐
Ooh, I’m inspired! Whole Foods has some delicious sparkling water flavors (like Mint, Raspberry Lemon…). I could totally do this with the Raspberry Lemon sparkling water, and a soft berry-flavored herbal tea. Yum!
I totally bought that same tea with the intention of making some kind of juice-tea concoction. Thanks for the recipe. I’ll totally use yours!
From your pictures it looks like you had a wonderful Mother’s day!! And I’m very excited about this sparkling lemonade- it sounds delicious! I love sparkling drinks anyway and am also obsessed with tea so it sounds perfect!
In Boston (born and raised Bostonian!) we call tea/lemonade an Arnold Palmer. They are amazing huh?!
This sounds so delicious and refreshing Gina! I absolutely love your bottle with the chalk label on it too. So cute!
Love the Russian nesting doll cups !! TOO cute.
One of my favorite quotes!!
That drink sounds so fresh, light and perfect for summer! I have to give it a try!
Looks so good!! ๐ Great idea, love it.
That looks like an AMAZING summer drink.
This drink sounds delicious! I’m also a fan of ginger tea. Instead of adding sparkling water, though, have you heard of the Twist ‘n Sparkle (they have it at Williams-Sonoma)? It carbonates any liquid, so I would brew the tea and then cool it overnight. Next day, add some “sparkle”! No more watered-down drinks!
Love that drink!! Summer must really be here now!
That looks so good. Now I must buy some sparkling water!
Adorable cups!
that does sound REALLY good and there are tons of combinations you could do!!
Summer + tea = refreshing day! All you need to go along with that one is sunglasses. Thanks Gina!
That drink looks perfect for the summer! Oh my goodness, I need to go out and get myself some zevia and ginger tea. I love lemonade, but have only tried making it with lemons, water, and stevia. This sounds much better.
Eeee I have the same babushcups as you! They are SO adorable. Sometimes I find myself afraid to use them since they’re so delicate & have to be hand washed! They bring so much happiness into my day, though! ๐
Great idea on the beverage! My diabetic husband gets sick of just drinking water, so I may give this one a whirl for him.
Yummmmm! That looks so good. I’m bookmarking this post!
Your breakfast looks so yummy…it’s making me crave breakfast for dinner ๐
i’m obsessed with starbucks passion tea lemonade, i should really try making my own!
I love fun summer drinks like this! I have trouble staying hydrated on just water, but having tasty drinks like this makes it so much easier to remember to drink up!
Thanks for posting about the glass! I saw it in the top picture and was going to ask you about it!
I think I may need to get out the turbo fire DVDs for cardio tomorrow!
Do you just pick the DVD you have enough time for? Or do you do them in some sort of order (I take a circuit training class 4 times a week).
you can follow them by the schedule they provide with the set or do your own thing
i usually do my own thing based on my teaching schedule and time restraints
The sparkling tea lemonade looks fantastic. It sounds like an Arnold Palmer!
Sweet potato fries = my downfall.
And I need to buy some brown rice tortillas – I miss the taste of them.
Thanks for the recipe, def. Trying that out once the weather heats up!
Gina,
Have you ever heard of the Beyond Diet? My husband is interested in it for training for a marathon but it seems a little sketchy… Thoughts?
Jenn
no i haven’t! off to google..
This drink looks awesome!! I love anything with bubbles ๐
me too ๐
I have all the ingredients for this lemonade recipe. I am going to make it as soon as I get home from work tomorrow. I love those glasses! I love anything Russian nesting doll-related and have already asked the fiance for the set for my birthday, which isn’t for a while.
