028: podcast with the Pilot
Hi friends! I happen to have my favorite person on the podcast today: my husband, the love of my life, aka the Pilot.
I thought it would be fun to have him back on the show (he was in Episode #3) and answer some of your questions! You submitted so many awesome questions on IG and most were about our next steps and recent travels. I loved chatting with him in my fancy podcast studio (<โ the closet) and I really hope you enjoy this episode.
Here are some of the things we talk about:
– The food he missed the most while he was away
– Post-military plans
– Where we want to live for the longterm
– Coping mechanisms when he was homesick
– Whether the time apart affected our relationship in a positive or negative way
– and some of the tips that really helped us
A friendly note to my military and military dependent friends: if youโre struggling or having a difficult time, please seek out the help you need. You can email me and we can send you some resources, or you can check out the National Suicide Prevention line hereย (1-800-273-8255) or call Military One Source 24/7. Remember that you have value, you need to be here, and you deserve to get help and feel better.
What part of the episode did you enjoy the most?

Thanks to the pilot for his service and to you for yours! I look forward to listening to the podcast. So happy your family is back together.
Thank you for your service, Pilot! As another type of pilot’s wife, just want to say that Delta loves and hires many former military pilots, and they are a great company ๐ Although, having been flying non-rev for 15 years, it is nowhere near as convenient as it used to be. Add a couple of kids, and Oy. Vey.
You should have HRG or PBFingers on your podcast! I’ve been reading all three of your blogs since college. ๐
I second Julie from PBFingers! Great episode – so fun to listen to ๐ You guys seem like such a great couple!!
Welcome home, Pilot, and thanks for your service! What a great podcast/episode. It was a super-fun listen on my lunchtime walk.
Thank you so much for listening!
This was so fun to listen to! Welcome home, Pilot, and thank you for your service and dedication. You both sound so happy! Congratulations ๐
Thank you so much. Having him home is the best ๐
This was my first podcast of yours that I’ve listened to, and I loved it!
Ahh thank you so much for listening!
I loved listening to this podcast episode. You both sound so happy and it was cute to hear you both laughing and how you get along so well. I was smiling the whole time I was listening to the episode. I appreciate his service to the country but glad to hear that heโll be home more often in this next phase of his career. You both seem like such nice people and Iโm glad that you both have reunited after his long deployment.
that’s the sweetest <3 we have a lot of fun together ๐ so so happy to have him home
Loved listening to this!!
thank you so much for listening!
Great episode! I work with students who use VA Educational Benefits (the GI Bill) while in college/university so PLEASE make sure that you guys get that squared away for the girls before the pilot transitions out! Let me know if you have any questions or need any other information about how it works ๐
