10 Days of Giveaways: Day 4 (Minted)
I love love love holiday cards. Each holiday season, I look forward to receiving Christmas cards from our family and friends all over the world. We won’t see some of our closest friends for a year or so, as military life simultaneously binds us and creates distance, so it’s fun to see how much everyone’s families have changed since we last saw them. On our entryway table, I’ll prop up the Christmas cards we receive, and always look forward to sending ours out, too.
This year, Minted kindly offered to do our family’s cards, which was great timing, as we’d booked photos with Jacquelynn Buck here in Tucson. If you’re in Tucson and looking for a photographer, I can’t recommend her enough. She does gorgeous work, got my sometimes poker-faced little lovebug to smile (at a camera!), and works quickly, which is importante when you have a little one. (She didn’t give me a discount or anything because I have a blog. She’s truly amazing and I just wanted to spread the word.)
We ordered some photos and a canvas from her, and used her photos for our Christmas card, courtesy of Minted.
They have so many beautiful options, I had a hard time deciding! In the end, we went with this “Merry and Bright” theme with rounded corners.
I can’t wait for them to arrive!
Minted also offered to participate in our 10 days of giveaways with an awesome prize: two winners will each receive a $100 credit to their site. They make gorgeous holiday cards in addition to unique gifts like personalized stationary, decor, art prints, calendars and journals. If you’re gift shopping at Minted, you can use the code “HOLLY” to get 15% off holiday card orders of $150+ (10% off orders $100+) through today.
Here’s how to enter:
The winners will be announced in Sunday morning’s post. You have until Saturday night at midnight to enter <3

The fiance and I were just talking about how we should get this done, Minted seems to have some of the cuter designs I’ve seen!!
I would love some Christmas cards! Minted cards are so cute! Our favorite
tradition is cutting down a Christmas tree with our little girl…..so much fun!
Last year my husband and I stayed at our home in Massachusetts with our bunny for Christmas. We spent the majority of the day in a Google hangout opening presents with my sister and brother-in-law in Germany and my parents and other siblings in Indiana! (We also spent time on Skype with my husband’s family in Indiana ๐
It was so fun to be able to be with family all at the same time even though we were all in very different places!
Every year we have Polish Christmas Eve dinner. I look forward to it every year because I love that food and we don’t really eat it any other time!
Decorating the tree is ALWAYS my favorite ๐
My favorite Christmas memory is staying up late into the night on Christmas Eve with my sister when we were supposed to be sleeping, but were way too excited!
Would love to try Minted!
My favorite memory is setting out carrots and cookies for Santa and his reindeer as a kid and waking up to see that they had taken a few bites! ๐
My favorite moment is baking cookies with family and eating them up while watching our favorite holiday movies! <3
My favorite moment this Christmas will be snuggling my new nephew.
I love when we start lighting the fire place! It’s notreally an exact memory but I look forward to it every year: with homemade marshmallows and hot chocolate!
My favorite holiday moment was last Christmas when my husband arrived home in time for a year long deployment to celebrate! He had missed the previous years’ holidays!
I love Minted! I just ordered my wedding save the dates from them this week!
My husband and I’s first year as a family with our son (who was 3 at the time) we saved and saved and saved to get him everything he could possibly want for Christmas. We were up until 1:30am setting everything up so when he came downstairs Christmas morning he would see it all and be ready to play. Neither of us slept much way too excited to see his reaction. When he came downstairs that morning he looked at everything and said “What? what is this? I don’t need this stuff… my gonna throw it all in the trash.” “My don’t need a new motorcycle (tricycle), my don’t need new trucks,… my just gonna throw it all away.” We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. After a few minutes he warmed up to his new toys and began playing with and loving everything…. I think he was just overwhelmed at first! We were very glad to have that one on video and watch it frequently to remind him how crazy he was!
Getting a kitten from Santa one year
One of my favorite weird family traditions is that we always play Seinfeld Scene-It on Christmas Eve… who knows why but we sure love Seinfeld!
Oh I would love to try these. This is our first Christmas as a married couple – can’t wait to make memories!
I could make good use of these for my upcoming wedding!
Favorite Holiday Moment: My parents always giving me Rolos in my stocking because they think they’re my favorite candy but I truly HATE them. After telling them, they still give them to me to be funny. At least my mom enjoys them!
My favorite holiday moment was 2011 when we got to tell our close family and friends we were expecting our first baby! He will be 16 months old this year at Christmas ๐
This sounds terrible, but my favorite holiday memories are of drinking late into the night with my wonderful aunts and uncles, who I only see once or twice a year. We always have a ball!
Very cute stuff!
Last year before dinner, my chocolate lab reached to the middle of the kitchen island and took a HUGE chunk out of the holiday ham. He loved it!! And after dinner he, of course, needed dessert and ate my mom’s spice cake. I’m amazed that he’s invited back again this year!
Minted is the best! I used them for our wedding invitations and how our holiday cards.
I’ve always wondered if its weird to have photo Christmas cards when you don’t have kids yet… I’d probably buy some Christmas gifts with family photos if I won!
This will be the first year my son can open his own gifts on Christmas. So looking forward to watching him!
Something crazy inevitably happens every year at holiday celebrations with my family – that’s what happens when you have a huge family and at least 34-40 people are present at a time (many of which are small but loud children : ) I wouldn’t trade all the little crazies for anything though, Christmas is my favorite holiday!
I love how Minted makes it so easy to create beautiful holiday greeting cards! They have so many great styles.
Our 1st Christmas as husband and wife, we decided to start our own Cmas travel tradition. We went to Portland from DFW and it was the worst snow Portland had experienced in 100 yrs! The city was frozen and difficult to get around but we made the best of it and were able to catch the Mavs beat the Trail Blazers. These days, we stay close to home for Cmas and spend time with our families.
These cards look amazing!
One of my favorite memories is when I was in 3rd grade or so and got a huge Play Hut tent that I had been wanting. I came downstairs and it was all set-up from “Santa”. It was an exciting morning ๐
A few years ago, I broke my nose about 1 week before Christmas – not being able to get in for surgery until after the holidays, I had to take all my Christmas pictures with this huge swollen nose and black eyes! It was awful – but definitely a Christmas no one is likely to forget!
My favorite holiday moment(s) is the fact that every Christmas at the end of the day, after all the madness has died down, my mom brings out a birthday cake for me! My birthday is Christmas day and she’s always careful to make sure we acknowledge it in some way. Love her!
My favorite holiday moment was last year when I gave my boyfriend a coffee mug with “I love Paige” on it and two pictures if me. He thought it was hilarious and uses it at school all the time. It was his sort of gag gift
Staying up late and trying to catch Santa Claus is one of my favorite holiday memories.
My favorite christmas moment is unpacking and putting out the christmas decorations. The majority of our decorations are ones that my parents gave to me so I have grown up with them. The others are ones that people have given to us when they pcs’d because they couldn’t fit them in their weight limit. So unpacking the decorations is wonderful because it brings back thousands of memories and of family and friends I have not seen in a long time.
stringing the popcorn and cranberries for the tree, I loved it and plan on doing it with my kids when I have some!
I have many favorite Christmas memories, but one is watching ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ on Christmas Eve with the entire family.
My favorite holiday tradition is decorating is picking out and decorating the christmas tree, its the kick off to a fun, delicious, and loving holiday season!
The year my uncle decided to climb our stone fireplace after him and my dad took tequila shots at the Christmas dinner table.. that was an interesting night!
These are all super cute…I’d like to try their invitations!
I so need to order my Christmas cards. I would love to order them from Minted.
My first Christmas eve party with my husband’s family, his very old uncle kept calling my Cassandra (my name is Dyanna..) and told me all of these terrible jokes/stories.. the night ended with him shouting “YOU BETTER BRING CASSANDRA BACK NEXT YEAR”. No one in the family has any idea where the name came from and he was corrected all day ๐ I found it hilarious.
I would love to win this to order my sons 2nd bday invites, which is just next month!!
Favorite: Spending Christmas Eve having a big family dinner, and going to the Midnight church service…then waking up Christmas day and having a “special” breakfast, then family game night later at my Aunt’s!
Now that I”m overseas and not around all my family for the holidays, I truly miss those fun moments with them!
fav moment is always just being in the presence of my family ๐
Oops I didn’t say my holiday moment… I love Christmas morning when all the parents/grandparents come to our house to celebrate with our kids!
After twice canceling our professional photo shoot due to a recurring case of toddler pink eye, we attempted to have my technologically challenged mother-in-law take our picture in front of the tree. Let’s just say it was a complete disaster and I walked away with one photo, that with some very serious cropping to get rid of a certain toddler’s flashing undies, sort of works for our Christmas card.
I love spending time with family and reading Christmas stories.
I soooo badly want to get Christmas cards with photos on them this year since it’s Lucas’s first Christmas. This would be the perfect opportunity! I always look forward to our Christmas brunch every year…lots of my favorites!
watching How the Grinch stole Xmas on xmas eve and eating a plethora of amazing appies….and drinking rum and egg nog ๐
