10 Days of Giveaways: Day 4 (Minted)
I love love love holiday cards. Each holiday season, I look forward to receiving Christmas cards from our family and friends all over the world. We won’t see some of our closest friends for a year or so, as military life simultaneously binds us and creates distance, so it’s fun to see how much everyone’s families have changed since we last saw them. On our entryway table, I’ll prop up the Christmas cards we receive, and always look forward to sending ours out, too.
This year, Minted kindly offered to do our family’s cards, which was great timing, as we’d booked photos with Jacquelynn Buck here in Tucson. If you’re in Tucson and looking for a photographer, I can’t recommend her enough. She does gorgeous work, got my sometimes poker-faced little lovebug to smile (at a camera!), and works quickly, which is importante when you have a little one. (She didn’t give me a discount or anything because I have a blog. She’s truly amazing and I just wanted to spread the word.)
We ordered some photos and a canvas from her, and used her photos for our Christmas card, courtesy of Minted.
They have so many beautiful options, I had a hard time deciding! In the end, we went with this “Merry and Bright” theme with rounded corners.
I can’t wait for them to arrive!
Minted also offered to participate in our 10 days of giveaways with an awesome prize: two winners will each receive a $100 credit to their site. They make gorgeous holiday cards in addition to unique gifts like personalized stationary, decor, art prints, calendars and journals. If you’re gift shopping at Minted, you can use the code “HOLLY” to get 15% off holiday card orders of $150+ (10% off orders $100+) through today.
Here’s how to enter:
The winners will be announced in Sunday morning’s post. You have until Saturday night at midnight to enter <3

We always go to Christmas Eve mass, and sometimes to the one where the children’s choir sings (so cute!). One year when I was little, it was snowing pretty good when we got out, and as we were driving home, my dad asked if we wanted to “do donuts.” I said, “Yes!” excitedly, like any little kid would. Then, when he turned right to go home instead of straight to go into town, I said “Hey! I thought we were going to get doughnuts!” Of course, he was talking about doing donuts in the parking lot because it was slick out, but I had my heart set on some warm glazed doughnuts on a cold Christmas Eve. My dad still loves to tell this story today, almost 20 years later.
Oooh, those cards look great! When we were kids we went over to my grandparents house on Crhistmas Eve and it was such a big event- there were so many people, we always had a lot of fun!
My favorite holiday moments would be spending time with my friends and family, eating delicious food!
I always love Christmas, but my favorite so far was last year when my now husband proposed to me the week before in NYC and we got to tell all of our families at Christmas. Excited to make our own new family x mas traditions in addition to the ones we already have!
My favorite holiday moment is picking out and decorating our Christmas tree. We always watch Elf and sip on some hot cocoa or coffee.
We had a really fun christmas eve holiday party last year with all of our friends whose families don’t live in Montana!
Minted is my favorite. I love getting cards too and am determined this year to get ours out before New Years,!
with an 18 month old, i have more pictures than i know what to do with. it would be so fun to be able to get some fun art prints made up to give to the grandparents for christmas. minted looks like a great site.
My favorite holiday moment is usually decorating the tree – or, right when the tree is “finished,” and we sit back to admire our handiwork. I love the glow of the lights and reminiscing about where all of our ornaments came from, as cliche as it is!
Love these cute cards!
My favourite holiday moment is always opening stockings at my parents house first thing in the morning with my brother and family. Always the best part of the day!
I was just discussing with my husband whether we should do a holiday card this year or not?!? If I win this we are definitely a go for a cute card featuring our little family (my hubby, me, and the cutest pup ever!)
I love Minted!!! Such pretty designs.
Favorite holiday memory…even though I have a ton…my mom used to have a gumdrop tree and I’d pick gumdrops off it every time I walked by the kitchen!
Minted is the best!
My favorite holiday moments are spending time with friends and family!
I really need help in the xmas card department this year usually have them planned out and ready to be sent by now and I haven’t even started 🙁 this would kick it into gear for me
My favorite holiday memoryhas always been going to my aunts home on Christmas eve for finger foods, gift exchange and holiday music! My 3 sons and I always bake homemade Christmas cookies on their very first day off of school for Christmas vacation! They are 14, 11 an 10 and always look forward to making cookies together! GRATEFUL
When I was really young, we lived out of state. We would leave before Christmas to make the trek back home to see family. Before we left (and when I still believed in Santa), my parents would load us up in the car, pretend to forget something and run back in so they could put our “Santa” gifts under the tree. They would be there waiting when we got home. I didn’t truly appreciate this act until I got older. It was so great knowing that my parents put so much thought and effort into keeping our belief in Santa alive!
My favorite holiday moment is opening pajama’s on Christmas Eve and then watching A Christmas Story while eating delicious food and drinking hot chocolate. Or, going to a movie on Christmas Day. Or, decorating the tree. There are way too many to choose!!
Those look like beautiful cards I would love to send to my friends and family!
I would love to use these for thank you cards
I had been looking at other sites for cards and I am so glad you posted this before I ordered. I especially love the designs with fun edges- these cards are so much more than a piece of photo paper!
I love all of the wall art! I just moved into my apartment 3 months ago and am in the midst of decorating!
Lighting the Hanukkah candles with our kids and all of our extended family on Thanksgiving this year!
There are many funny memories, but my current is doing Elf on the Shelf with our 2 year old…Fun times!!!
I love Christmas morning – waking up early and eating sticky buns with my family, then listening to christmas music as we open presents together!
My favorite holiday moment is getting to watch the little ones open their presents- they are so appreciative and excited!
A group of my friends get together every Christmas season to watch Love Actually. We end up just gossiping and drinking wine, but it’s a fun holiday moment!
Holiday baking with my mom – we still do it.
Minted has so many pretty and fun choices!
My husband and I set aside a whole day every year for bake day! We love gifting homemade cookies and although I do most of the work, it’s fun for him to participate with the decorating and tasting 🙂
My favorite holiday moment is spending time with family and friends!
Last year, when my Nephew was 2, he would rip open his presents and without even looking at what he got, he would immediately ask for more!!!
A favorite is seeing all the holiday cards my mom hangs in the door way leading into the living room. Its fun to see all the cheer and nice notes!
Still need to send my cards out, but it would be nice to use these!
my favorite holiday moment is gathering for brunch & presents at my grandparents’ house on christmas morning. it’s the best 🙂
Favorite holiday moments center around getting extra quality time with my husband. We’re both busy at work all week, so it’s nice to have a few days without any distractions.
My favorite holiday moment was last year, when I was supposed to stay in New Jersey for Christmas, but surprised my parents in Maine at the last minute. It was amazing, and they were so happy.
Family pancake breakfast on Christmas morning!
I’m looking forward to hosting Christmas Eve for my family. We started last year and I am so happy that it’s something my husband and I will continue to be able to do.
i LOVE christmas morning! the family is spread out across the country, but on christmas morning we all hang out in the living room in our pjs, drinking coffee by the christmas tree & catching up. i look forward to it each and every year!
I always loved Christmas morning as a kid-a big fancy breakfast, opening gifts under the tree, talking about all the things that happened and the friends we saw at Mass the night before (the shepherd who obviously really really had to pee-poor kid!). I can’t wait to start that tradition with my baby boy!
Last year when “planking” was the thing to do, SOMEHOW all of us kids (my 2 brother-in laws, my sister-in-law, my husband and myself) ended up planking around the living room in the most ridiculous places. There’s a picture of all of us planking around the room… one across the arms of a chair, one on the hearth of the fireplace, one doing a faceplant into the couch….cant remember the other 2. But it was HILLARIOUS we could not stop laughing!
My neighborhood always does luminaries so Santa can find us!! My absolute favorite!
Knowing that every year my dog will make a bee line for the Christmas tree on Christmas morning, find her present and rip it open to reveal the treats. She’s worse than the kids
My favorite holiday moment is going to my dad’s house every Christmas morning to have Christmas with my younger brother and sister. I look forward to it every year.
I also love seeing how families change every year!
The kids love getting everyone’s family cards with photos. We host Christmas brunch every year and love every minute of it.
My favorite moment is decorating the tree with my family
I have a HUGE family and we always have Santa Claus come with gifts on Xmas Eve. All the little ones love it–it’s so much fun!
