10 Days of Giveaways: Day 7 (MyYogaPro)

How about a little giveaway afternoon pick-me-up?

10daysofgiveaways

Something stretchy, relaxing, strengthening, invigorating…. there’s nothing in the world like a good yoga practice.

Balance 1 of 1

And up until now, nothing like having access to over 200 online yoga classes and the help of an amazing instructor.

My friend Erin, aka the Bad Yogi, has graced the pages of this blog with her amazing guest posts and videos. She’s basically the best of the best when it comes to yoga instructors: playful, kind, knowledgeable and a little bit of a rebel. I love her whimsical approach to the practice and have enjoyed all of her YouTube videos that I’ve tried.

She teamed up with DoYouYoga to create an online platform of yoga classes, called My Yoga Pro. My Yoga Pro includes a variety of yoga classes and an interactive method to track your achievements along the way. You can check out their Kickstarter video here for more information about the project. MYP is ready to launch, and to celebrate its inception, Erin kindly offered two all-access passes to some lucky yogis (or aspiring yogis!). The world needs more yoga, and I’m really excited that My Yoga Pro will make the practice accessible to everyone. When we lived in Valdosta, the closest yoga studio was two hours away, and I know this would have come in handy! The access passes are also reasonably priced, especially when compared to studio membership.

Two lucky readers will get all-access passes to over 200 online classes.

Here’s how to enter:

This giveaway, along with all of the week two giveaways, will end this Saturday night at midnight.

I think my favorite yoga pose is supine butterfly, though I was just introduced to the goddess squat and LOVED it.

  2. Kaylee W on December 10, 2013 at 5:37 pm

I love chair pose, its invigorating and really feels like a workout.

  3. Jana @ Bananas for Balance on December 10, 2013 at 5:37 pm

My favorite yoga pose is pigeon! My hips are always incredibly tight, and I love to settle into pigeon for a few minutes on each side. I always love a good child’s pose too if that counts 🙂

  4. Taya on December 10, 2013 at 5:38 pm

You can’t go wrong with down dog, but one legged king pigeon is always my favorite!

  5. Allison Galassie on December 10, 2013 at 5:39 pm

I love the tree pose, but I’m afraid I’m not very good at it…

  6. Ashley V on December 10, 2013 at 5:39 pm

Well, I know basically nothing about yoga. This would be such a cool prize to help me get to know yoga! I am just showing my ignorance here, but is the pigeon pose yoga? It’s pretty much my favorite post-run stretch on this earth.

  7. Catherine on December 10, 2013 at 5:40 pm

I used to hate downward dog, but I’ve really worked on my shoulder strength lately and now it is my favorite pose!

  8. Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine on December 10, 2013 at 5:41 pm

My favorite is 8-Angle actually! (What you are doing in your photo!) but I also love chair pose with twists! It hurts to good 😛

  9. Gabriella on December 10, 2013 at 5:43 pm

I would love the opportunity to practice yoga!

  10. Shannon on December 10, 2013 at 5:44 pm

Lately, my yoga practice has been none existent. I tried a class last night and let me say, Child’s Pose was my best friend!!
Today my shoulders are killing me, but I’ve been inspired to start again!

  11. Kelly on December 10, 2013 at 5:45 pm

I would love this! I don’t have a gym membership so I work out from home,

  12. Leslie Olsson on December 10, 2013 at 5:46 pm

I like tree and chair poses…and of course child’s pose!

  13. Celia on December 10, 2013 at 5:47 pm

  14. melissa on December 10, 2013 at 5:47 pm

  16. Nichole on December 10, 2013 at 5:48 pm

My favorite yoga pose is tree pose! I love to challenge myself by closing my eyes and falling deeper into the practice. I’m going to yoga tonight – excited 🙂

  17. Paula on December 10, 2013 at 5:49 pm

I looooove child’s pose, I’m pretty sure it’s the easiest pose of all, but I’m a pro at that one! 😉

  18. Lauren on December 10, 2013 at 5:49 pm

warrior! It makes me feel so strong!

  19. Keeley on December 10, 2013 at 5:50 pm

  21. Paulina on December 10, 2013 at 5:51 pm

My favourite yoga pose is any type of twist! I love headstands but there is no better feeling than a twist after a tough practice.

  22. Ann on December 10, 2013 at 5:51 pm

Dancer is my favorite! And with a toddler and another on the way, it’s hard to find time to get to the yoga studio!

  23. Shannon on December 10, 2013 at 5:52 pm

    Warrior is a great one!

  24. Anne on December 10, 2013 at 5:52 pm

This is exactly what I need! I am so much more motivated to take a yoga class at home and at my gym!

  25. Katie O on December 10, 2013 at 5:53 pm

I like tree pose! I’m really uncoordinated and fall over a lot but for some reason I can actually hold tree pose and it makes me feel a little more graceful, haha. A close second is pigeon because I tend to have tight hamstrings and pigeon feels sooooo good stretching them out.

  26. Alexandra on December 10, 2013 at 5:54 pm

savasana 🙂 (and when I actually want to get a good stretch, child’s pose or warrior 🙂

  27. Abi@AbsofSteel on December 10, 2013 at 5:54 pm

ooh I can’t choose a favorite, it’s between a headstand, pigeon pose, or any arm balance variation

  28. Ashley N. on December 10, 2013 at 5:55 pm

I have never taken a yoga class and have always wanted to start. I have tried to follow along with a video on Hulu, but it didn’t go so well. 🙂

  29. Kim P on December 10, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Pigeon for the tight hips and eagle for the tight shoulders.

  30. Jean on December 10, 2013 at 5:57 pm

    Has to be pigeon pose!!!!!!!

  31. Lauren B on December 10, 2013 at 5:59 pm

I would love to win this…i’m in med school and the chances of me being able to afford a yoga studio in the area are slim to none! I miss regular practice so much and could really use it 🙂

  32. Alex on December 10, 2013 at 5:59 pm

Tree pose…I actually catch myself doing it while I am baking or cooking without realizing it!

  33. Nicole on December 10, 2013 at 6:01 pm

I loved Erin’s 30 day yoga challenge on Youtube! I’d love to win this giveaway. My favorite pose is pigeon. I seriously need those hip openers.

  34. Ashley on December 10, 2013 at 6:01 pm

  36. Tory on December 10, 2013 at 6:04 pm

Warrior 2.. it makes me feel powerful and loooong.

  37. Katheryne on December 10, 2013 at 6:04 pm

    Headstand!

  38. Lizzi on December 10, 2013 at 6:05 pm

Definitely crow. My hips get very tight sitting at my desk all day long.

  39. EM on December 10, 2013 at 6:06 pm

Half pigeon is my tried and true!

  40. Erica on December 10, 2013 at 6:06 pm

My favorite pose is downward dog because as a runner my hamstrings and calves are always very tight. I am not familiar with too many of the advanced poses as I am relatively new to yoga so MYP would be great for advancing my practice at my own pace.

  41. Naomi on December 10, 2013 at 6:07 pm

    Pigeon pose!

  42. Lauren N on December 10, 2013 at 6:08 pm

Pigeon Pose is my favorite. It’s great for opening up my hips which get so tight from running!

  43. Nikki on December 10, 2013 at 6:08 pm

    Sun warrior!

  44. Tori L on December 10, 2013 at 6:08 pm

  47. Randi on December 10, 2013 at 6:09 pm

It’s too hard to choose which yoga pose I like best, I like them all for different reasons. I love shoulder stand and side crow!

  48. Emily Stember on December 10, 2013 at 6:10 pm

I love a good sun salutation 3-4 times a week, it reminds me to be mindful of my breathing and that the mind-body connection is an important part of a well rounded fitness and well-being plan. I also love the dancer pose (or the tree pose which is similar) which helps me with my balance. Yoga has enabled me to improve my balance and through these poses in particular I have been able to connect to my body in a really meaningful way.

  49. Sierra on December 10, 2013 at 6:10 pm

    I love crow!

  50. Allie on December 10, 2013 at 6:11 pm

I LOVE yoga and dancer pose is my favorite! 🙂
