Time for a throwdown
Why hello ๐ How are you? Hope youโre having a chillax kinda Sunday <3 It felt heavenly to sleep with no alarm this morningโฆ when I woke up at 8:30, it felt like I had slept for 3 days.
After crawling out of bed, taking Bell out and putting on the Casey Anthony trial, I made some bfast:
Gluten-free toast with apple butter
I LOVE apple butter, but itโs usually loaded with sugar. This Eden organic version only contains apples and apple concentrate, and tastes fantastic
+ the smooooothie
-1.5 C almond milk
-organic frozen strawberries
-raw cacao powder
-Sun Warrior
-bananner
-frozen organic spinach โ it was my first time using frozen instead of fresh, and I didnโt notice a difference in taste at all. Usually the more frozen components you can use in a smoothie, the better, since you wonโt have to use ice. (Frozen banana is always better than fresh in smoothies)
Iโm off to the gym to battle the Stairmaster โthat thing is a BEAST. and I love it- and then prepping some food for tonight. My cheffer bro and I are going to grill at the madreโs house for the fam. I have no idea what heโs making, but hereโs what I have planned:
Black bean burgers and sweet potato fries
(That picture is actually from Bleu Pub in Valdosta.. and is causing some serious hankering right about now)
Massaged kale salad
(Even kale non-believers love massaged kale salad)
Mixed berry crumble
Of course, whenever we cook together it turns into a friendly competition. Iโm ready for it ๐

FIREWORK BLAST! A quick workout to bust out in between holiday festivities:
-Jog (or mock jump rope in place)- 2 minutes
-Jumping jacks- 30 seconds
-Lunge right leg- 30 seconds
-Lunge left leg- 30 seconds
-Jumping lunges- 1 minute
-Squats- 30 seconds
-Hold the squat position- 30 seconds
-Burpees- 1 minute
-Push-ups- 30 seconds
-Plank- 1 minute
*Bonus: try to do it 3 times throughout the day!

The crumble looks so good! I love that crunchy topping with the juicy berries. I just made chipotle corn hummus to share – really good and I love bringing a healthier option.

That apron is classic. Your brother looks like a fun guy! I wish you luck in your cook off!
It’s really easy to make apple butter at home without sugar! Just peel and chop apples, add spices (I love cinnamon and nutmeg), barely cover with water and boil until everything’s soft. Then I use a potato masher to get it to the right consistency – I like my apple butter a little bit chunky. So good!
That black bean burger + sweet potato fries look AWESOME.

I love love loveee Apple Butter! I seat I put it on everything. Try a Apple Cinnamon Muffin sliced in half with some apple butter heated up. You’ll die! Also, I am making a crumble too. It will be for tomorrow but it has to chill overnight. Have fun girl!

And that mixed berry crumble. Oh, that looks sooo good. I just made a mixed berry clafoutis the other day that turned out so well. Mixed berries are the way to go.
And apple butter…I have bought the TJ’s apple butter around the fall, like Thanksgiving time, and not sure what all is in it, but it sure is good! ๐

As odd as it is to say seeing how I live in the “apple capital” of Nova Scotia, I’ve never had apple butter. But I see someone posted above how to make it so I might have to try making some! ๐
