Lower Body Barre Burner {Video}
Hellooooooo. Howโs the morning going? Hope youโre having a great day so far. This morning weโre off to the park and then planning for a fun staycation weโre doing later this week.
Today I have a new video workout for youuuuuu + some tips for getting more out of your barre workout.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Barre Workout
Here are some of things that help with my own barre workouts + tweaks I commonly notice while teaching:
-Alignment! Most of the time, youโll want to be in a position where your ears, shoulders, hips and heels are all in one line
-When you have your heels up and knees are bent, keep your knees stacked over your ankles
-Just like with any lunge positions, watch your front knee(s) to make sure it doesnโt extend past your toes
-Keep your core engaged and upper body relaxed
-While youโre holding onto the barre, use it for balance but try to avoid pulling on it
-As always, talk with a doc before making any fitness changes and honor your body. Modify as needed!

I was just talking about how I wanted to try barre…as a yoga teacher I’m attracted to it’s versatility and I wonder how many of the moves might be similar to what I do in class…def want to try out a class this weekend!
Barre workouts are the best! I have a great instructor who’s classes I like to go to.
Whew! Sweaty workout. I like using the Smith machine at the gym to do a few Barre variations. I’ll need to try a few of yours!
Perfect for sneaking in a quiet, no sweating “in my office on the DL” workout shortie! Is the cardio barre class you teach similar to the tabata barre video you posted?
Are you pure barre certified? I am thinking of getting certified to teach this, but not sure which way to go. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Hi Gina! I came to your site tonight because I tried the MOST AMAZING restaurant in San Diego tonight and I wanted to ask if youโve been!! Itโs called One Door North and it was seriously INCREDIBLE!! You can dine in the cutest little tents and they have a dessert called a sโmores bar that is amazing. If you havenโt been you have to try it out!
