Rawgasm
Hi friends! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! <3
Catching up on the blogworld?
–Iโm in NYC! (apparently home of the Naked Cowboy)
-Took my first Physique 57 class, which made my legs beg for mercy
After the workout, I came back to the hotel, did the blog thang, and then met 3 lovely ladies for dinner at Pure Food and Wine: Gabriela, Katie and Diana.
Pure Food and Wine is my second favorite restaurant of all time. (Bobby Flay takes first place)
The food is raw, fresh and beautifully presented. Everything that I could wish for
We shared the raw cheese and cracker plate with blueberries and rosemary crisps.
Even though theyโre nut-based, raw cheeses taste remarkably like the real thing and the rosemary crisps are perfect.
I also got a Master Cleanse Tini (with lemon, cayenne, maple syrup, sake and ginger)
For the entrรฉe, I was so stoked to try the S&M salad. It isnโt on the menu (itโs a One Lucky Duck item, which is owned by the same company and is takeout-only, next door), but they said theyโd be happy to make me one. Iโve only had it homemade and the PFW version was even better than I thought it would be
-Rosemary crackers
-avocado
-greens
-dulse
-hemp seeds
-lemon vinaigrette
The salad was HUGE too. Definitely qualified as a salad beast
Gabriela and I also shared the raw tamales, which I ordered last time I went to Pure Food and Wine:
The *masa* is made of cashews and corn, with pico de gallo, cashew sour cream, mole sauce and guacamole. Amazing.
And as if things couldnโt get any betterโฆ.
DESSERT!
We ordered different desserts and shared bites. I canโt even tell you which one was the bestโฆ I loved them all.
I chose the salted caramel chocolate tart:
The outside part of the tart was slightly crunchy, like a chewy cookie and the inner part was soft and gooey. It was served with a caramel sauce and a coconut mousse with cacao nibs and maple sugar. I die.
Diana and Gabriela ordered the mint chocolate chip sundae, with raw mint cookie bites
and Katie chose the pumpkin cheesecake parfait.
LOVE how they served it in a wine glass!!
It was an amazing dinner and it was such a blasty chatting with the girls
After Gabriela hailed a cab for me โI wasnโt quite sure how to do it, haha- I came back to the hotel and crashed into a raw food baby slumber.
This morning, Iโm off to be trained by two celebrity trainers!! Not gonna lie, Iโm a little nervous, but way excited to learn some new tricks. Iโll be filming all of it on the Flip, too
See ya later today!
xoxo

Something to talk about: Which dish are you most excited about making this Thanksgiving? I canโt wait to make a gluten-free version of my stuffing recipe and a raw pumpkin pie- I think the fam will love them.
Glad you had fun in NYC! I am drooling over your dessert pictures… ๐
I wish I could’ve been there with you girls last night, looks like you had a fabulous dinner! Hope the remainder of your NY trip is just as wonderful!
Hahah hailing a cab in the city can be intimidating. The food looks delish, especially the desserts! I am going to have to go there! Good luck with the rest of your trip in the city ๐
Mmmm, that food there sounds amazing! I’m drooling over those desserts… one of each for me please! I’m looking forward to making the autumn mac & cheese, from Jessica @ How Sweet It Is. I made it last week and it was sooo good!
Aw, thanks for the shout out. ๐
That tart looks incredible!
I’m excited about the stuffing too. It’s my most favorite dish!
You had all my Pure favorites; and Suave Slav’s favorite Pure martini ๐
P.S. – this Thanksgiving = I’m ready for pumpkin piiiiiie.
Looks like you’re having a blast! I can’t wait to see the new workout vids. ๐
Those desserts look so good! I’m not making anything for Thanksgiving–I’m visiting family–but I’m most psyched for the sweet potato casserole.
I wish I was at pure with y’all! It looks amazing!
We aren’t making a traditional thanksgiving meal this year because we are going camping, but I’m going to a cooking class titled, ‘vegetarian thanksgiving’ at whole foods and am so excited!!
Enjoy you Monday!
In Heaven I’m going back to have the exact same thing for breakfast this morning.
In my dreams we met for another meal at a restaurant where we each get to sit in a jacuzzi filled with oats, coconut and cinnamon. The waiters give us each a spoon and a jar of almond butter and we eat our way out of the tubs. I can’t believe that was actually my dream last night. Seriously.
In reality I’m going to sit at a desk all day. Close enough…?
Enjoy the rest of your visit! xo
that’s pretty much the best dream ever ๐
If I will go to ny again, for sure I’ll try that restaurant … everything looks delicious!!!
Food is always the highlight of my vacations–love the looks of the dessert..mmm!!
I love going out to raw restaurants. The food is definitely some of the best I’ve ever had.
So jealous. This looks amazing.
I’m excited for my mom’s broccoli bake this thanksgiving… well, every thanksgiving really ;). And I make some darn good brussels sprouts, too ๐
xo
That restaurant looks great! Thanksgiving was in October for us, but I’m still eating pumpkin like nobody’s business!
I do love pumpkin pie, but I think I’m most looking forward to my mom’s stuffed mushrooms.
Pure Food & Wine is one of my favorite restaurants! I got the pizettes and the strawberry shortcake when I went there: most flavorful food ever. And I was STUFFED when I left!
pumpkin pie parfait????? I must try that!!!
Those desserts look lovely — pumpkin cheesecake parfait sounds so good!!!
Enjoy your time with the trainers!
I am looking forward to pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie — they are my favorites!
oh that would be amazing to go to a Raw food place like that, where i live there is nothing remotely close.. for a couple provinces i’m sure!
I had so much fun last night! Really, I think you should move here… especially since we can keep each other company with wining and dining while our men are away ๐
loved hanging out with you girls!!!
i totally agree- we’d have so much fun ๐
Ahhhhh! I want to go there!!!!!
MAJ JEALS of the food and people in this post!!!
looks so delicious!!!
Those desserts look amazing!
Whoa, all those desserts kick ass! For Thanksgiving, I might have to recreate the “pie” that I posted on my blog today… it’s pumpkin/peanut butter HEAVEN!! ๐
I’m super excited to make my cranberry sauce and whole wheat pumpkin rolls! I can’t wait to hear about your trainer time. Bet it’ll be a blast ๐
WOW…rawgasmic doesn’t even begin to describe!
I’m excited to make pie!
I have never been to pure food and wine. I am allergic to nuts and I know pretty much everything there is made with cashews, but my sisters goes all the time and shes obsessEd!
So jealous of your Pure Food and Wine meal! Last time I was in NYC, I didn’t have time for a sit-down dinner there, so I only got to indulge in some One Lucky Duck goodies! (Raw Mallomar = HEAVEN!!) Next time I visit, that’s on my “must” list!
For Thanksgiving, I’m looking forward to making my raw pumpkin cheesecake! My husband is an incredibly picky eater, and since he loves it, I’m hoping it will be a hit!
“be trained by two celebrity trainers!!”— OMG congrats, how fun, how amazing…can’t wait for the details! How it was, what you learned, etc!
But going out with Diana & Katie (have been reading their blogs for a couple years!) and would love!!!!!! to meet them!
Met you and Diana at FBuzz briefly but it was such a chaotic surreal time, that going out for dinner, as a 4some, to an amazing place..wow, what a great nite you girls all had!
Of course the great food, the lovely desserts, the awesome company…spending time w/ girls, going out, food and drink…in nyc, that’s what it’s all about. So glad you’re having a blast!!!!!!!!
Fun! That tart looks amazing and it looks like you girls had a great time – very cool!
I can’t wait to make sinful mac & cheese paula dean style – it’s on!
What kind of GF bread are you using for the stuffing? I am making all the stuffing for my family and it is going to be all gluten free (i cannot eat gluten) but I’m a little worried about the type of bread to use. This is the first GF Thanksgiving and I want to make sure no one misses the gluten! Thanks!
I can’t wait to hear who the celeb trainer is!
Well now I’m excited to make your stuffing!!
And those desserts look INSANE. A raw sundae!?
I’m usually in charge of the veggies, and I have a few new dishes that I’m excited to try out. New recipes on a major holiday? Dangerous, but I’ll take the challenge.
What fun! I’m excited for home-cooked food! Though it isn’t the healthiest, there is something about the warmth of any mom’s cooking ๐
The food looks great, but I was wondering where you got your necklace? I have been looking for a delicate cross, and have been out of luck.
steel’s jewelry in valdosta ๐
Thanks ๐
Looks like a fab night! Especially since it ended with such amazing desserts!
Our Canadian Thanksgiving is long over, but I always look forward to the pumpkin pie the most! I think I might need to start celebrating American Thanksgiving too, just so that I can have pumpkin pie again! ๐
I’m so excited to see what you post for the gluten free version of your stuffing. I’ve been looking for a gluten free version, and so far all I found was a rice based one, which would do, but doesn’t seem the same.
Pure Food and Wine is my dream restaurant! You are so lucky. I think the raw eatery nearest to me is 1500 miles away. I want to plan future vacations around raw restaurants!
The tamales look amazing!! Do you have a recipe?
yes! i’ll make some soon and post it ๐
