Friday Faves (and Livi is 9!)
Hi friends! Happy Friday and happy birthday to my sweet Livi goose.
This girl has a heart of gold, an imagination that soars, and is the kindest, sweetest big sister. Sheโs witty and bright, makes friends wherever she goes, has some pretty awesome dance moves, loves riding horses, and asks the best questions. She stays up late reading (the best) and writes funny notes for us to hide throughout the house.
Itโs funny because while I absolutely miss the snuggly part of the newborn stage, I never wish to go back in time. The girls continue to reveal more and more of their amazing personalities and I continue to enjoy them more each year. Canโt wait to celebrate this girl all weekend!
(We got her a Cameo from Milo Manheim, one of her fave Disney actors. She lost her mind!! The best.)
Itโs time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something youโre loving in the comments section below.
Fashion + beauty:
These Uggs for the kiddosย are a yearly staple. The waterproof ones last so much longer and I donโt have to worry about the rogue puddle or rainstorm. <โ rare in Tucson but still somehow manages to happen on the days theyโre wearing these.
Ordered this pink-toned version of one of my fave palettes.
Fitness + good eats:
Join the Home Workout Warrior FREE fitness challenge here! Iโm so excited to start this with you all in a little over a week.
Got a Sakara delivery this week and as usual, everything was so fresh and satisfying. These have been a special treat, especially when weโre busy with distance learning and the usual to-dos all day. Iโll prob get a shipment every 4-6 weeks or so as a little something special. You can read about why I love Sakara here and use my link for $50 off.
(Isnโt this goji berry donut beautiful?!)
Strength and plyo 45-minute workout
LOTS of plant-based meal ideas here
Read, watch, listen:
I feel like Iโm the last person in the world to know about this but omgggg Brigerton. Iโve only watched two episodes but Iโm INTO IT. Can we just talk about the Duke for a second? And Julie Andrews narrating is just the icing on the cake.
Loved this weekโs episode of the Model Health Show (as always).
A great gift idea for kids (Liv has a magic kit and is obsessed).
4 things to let go of in the new year.
Happy Friday, friends.

Gina
Hi Gina,
Iโve been reading your blog for years and years, and itโs always a bright spot in my day and week. But after this week, Iโm disappointed to see a โFriday Favoritesโ post that doesnโt address any of the horrific, awful, shaking events that happened over the past few days. Iโm still processing what happened, and maybe you are too, but as an influencer with a lot of followers, I expect you to say something to acknowledge what happened. Staying silent on these issues is being complicit. And although making a political statement on a fitness blog might cost you some followers, I think this is the time to make those choices. Staying silent is costing you followers and readers too. – Best, Molly
I don’t think Gina has ever got into discussions about political issues. That’s not what this blog is about. There are plenty of others if you want to discuss.
She commented about the unrest this summer and had a thoughtful discussion in the comments, too. Simply pretending White Supremacists actively did not try to subvert democracy goes way beyond politics. Her lack of even acknowledging one of the most significant events in the 21st century is highly disappointing, to put it mildly.
*Did not actively try to subvert
Perhaps she needs a couple of days to process and collect her thoughts. Or she wrote this post several days ago before publishing it on Friday. You mentioned that her not writing about the news is costing her followers and readers – curious what thatโs based on? Do you have a data source that shows that?
I agree. Longtime reader, and I’m really disappointed to see this.
HAPPY Birthday, Liv!!! I can’t believe she’s 9. Wow. Double digits next year!
Bridgerton.. isn’t it fun?? Can’t wait for another season!
Have a fun weekend with your sweet girl!
Happy Birthday to Liv! I hope you all find so many special ways to celebrate this weekend :).
Happy birthday to your daughter! I can’t believe she’s 9!! When I saw the pics from each year, it was so crazy to think how time is just flying by! I’ve read your blog since maybe a year before you were pregnant with her so it’s just crazy to think that she’s already 9! Those are such beautiful pictures! That is so awesome the gift you got her via the Cameo with Milo Manheim. To be honest, I’m not familiar with him, but I can only imagine how excited she was when she got that gift!! Based on those pictures from over the years, it looks like you two have such a close bond which is so beautiful. Not to make you cry but this all reminds me of that Taylor Swift song called “Never Grow Up”. Hope you enjoy celebrating her birthday with your family!
Happy bday Liv! Hope u have a wonderful wknd! Love the pics u 2 take each year. โค๏ธ
