8.16 Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? Itโ€™s a pretty normal weekend around here with basketball, dance, time with friends, and time to plan and catch up for next week. Itโ€™s also our anniversary ๐Ÿ™‚ Iโ€™m looking forward to a family dinner with my favorite people; I canโ€™t believe I actually got to marry to Starbucks guy and feel blessed every day for this beautiful life we have together.

Iโ€™d love to hear what you have going on this weekend.

Itโ€™s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something youโ€™re loving in the comments section below.

8.16 Friday Faves

Fashion + beauty + random:

New Amazon watch band! I got this to wear with me โ€œreal peopleโ€ clothes aka non-workotut clothes, and the quality is surprisingly good.

I loooove this gentle exfoliator. It isnโ€™t too abrasive for sensitive skin and is also unscented.

Tangle teezer! Our girlsโ€™ friend had one of these and loves it, so I got some for the girls. The hype is real! It takes out tangles without pain and while the Morrocan oil always helps, this has been a gamechanger with all of the siwmming theyโ€™ve done.

Read, watch, listen:

The girls and I have been reading old American Girl books before bed and friends, they have stood the test of time. Theyโ€™re just as lovely and interesting as I remember and the kids have adored them! Itโ€™s been fun to share the thing that introduced me to historical fiction when I was Pโ€™s age.

My friend Ana and I went to seeย It Ends with Us the other night – a weeknight movie with a friend felt like such a huge treat – and it was SOOOOO good. The book was ok for me – I get the hype but I donโ€™t think sheโ€™s the most captivating author, please donโ€™t throw anything at me – but the movie was excellent. The casting was A+++ and it was very well done.

Mindset shifts to reduce the need for external validation.

Fitness, health, life, and good eats:

Iโ€™m on the prowl for quick, tasty, healthy dinner recipes to switch up our usual rotation. Iโ€™m back into school mody and activities shuffle with the kids, and sometimes we get home at dinnertime (or past dinner). We have our usual faves, but if you have any family meals you love that I can either make in advance, make in 15-20 minutes, or pop in the Instant Pot, Iโ€™d appreciate some recs so much!

Back on the Nutrisense train for me and itโ€™s been very helpful to see the data after a summer of restaurant food in Spain and Hawaii. Iโ€™m focusing on blood sugar and hormones this fall and this is one of my favorite tools. You can check out my full review here and use GINA50 here for $50 off.ย

Functional testing sale! Both the starter kit and the Big 5 are on sale until Sunday. They only do this twice a year. If youโ€™re interested in doing some digging to find the true root causes for how youโ€™re feeling, I highly recommend these tests. Theyโ€™ve helped me when I thought things were hopeless, and theyโ€™re the tests I read every day for clients and friends. If you decide to purchase the Big 5 or Starter kit, send me an email gina@fitnessista.com subject TEST and your order number, and Iโ€™d be happy to provide a complimentary call to go over the results with you.

Heads up- weโ€™re going to be doing another community detox in September, so Iโ€™ll have all of the details up next week!

Have a happy weekend and Iโ€™ll see ya soon. Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

xoxo

Gina
