Always remember
Taking a moment this morning to remember 9/11.
A beautiful tribute (warning: watching/listening leads to dinosaur cry):
(the actual video starts at 0:48)
Sending love and prayers to those who were affected and continue to be affected by this tragedy today <3
I hope that deployed service members come back soon and safely,
and endless thanks to all of those who make sacrifices to protect us, and our freedoms, everyday.
xoxo
I know someone who saw the second plane hit from the roof of her office building. A few of them went up to see what happened and they saw the plane hit. One person passed out. I was in 1st grade and I remember the principal coming into the room and pulled the teacher aside and told her. They didn’t tell the kids what happened but we knew something was wrong. I remember watching the news with my family and seeing two lights shine where the towers used to be. Tragic for a six year old. Do you remember where you were when you found out?
i do, i talk about it more thoroughly in this post: http://fitnessista.com/2011/09/love-always-wins/
Wow. You were so young. I remember watching the news all night we didn’t even stop to make dinner. Just had it in front of the tv. We were all glue to the tv. At the time I didn’t know what was happening. Now that I do, every year I tear unthinking about all the people who lost their lives that day. It is interesting how people have never forgotten the details about what where they were when they heard.
Thank you to your husband.
Ditto!
Giving thanks to so very many on this day and always.
That was beautiful. Counting down the day’s until my son is finally back on US soil.
Beautiful Post Gina, I’m now in floods of tears.
<3 My hearts goes out to everyone affected xxx
Thank you for this.
My family was very lucky- I only had a few frantic moments trying to get in touch with my parents- hands down the scariest moment of my life. I was 12, but so many other 12 year olds were not lucky.
Thank you to the PILOT and the rest of our armed forces for keeping us safe (and to their families for making the sacrifice)! My fellow New Yorkers, if you see NYPD or FDNY today, THANK THEM!
Also, love this letter from a daughter of a 9/11 victim:

Amen and amen. My dad worked in the financial district and was frequently near where ground zero is today for various meetings- I was 5 or 6 and was in school (which was across the street from our house). I will never forget the miracle that day. My dad was told on the night before that he could work from home the next day (9/11) for no particular reason. So my dad stayed home. I cold have lost him that day- the odds are high. So grateful and thankful to God. I can still remember the thick smoke that blanketed my neighborhood for days.
I will never forget. Ever.
Wow, thank you for sharing. I will never ever forget that horrible day. 🙁
Thank you for this. I just recently moved from Phoenix to DC and living out here gives me an entirely different perspective on 9/11. I will never forget that morning nor will I ever forget those who lost their lives that morning, and who continue to fight for our country and our freedom. Thank you and your husband for all you have sacrificed, you are an inspiration to us all.
Thank you for sharing that, Gina. Yes, our thoughts and prayers are with those forever affected.
I was in high school in a math class. We were all goofing off, even the teacher. Then he got called out in the hall. He came back in and immediately turned on the tv. I’ll never forget the feeling that washed over me. I just wanted my family.
I took our baby to see my husband at work today, he is a firefighter, and the elementary school nearby had sent homemade cards to the firehall. It melted my heart.
I thank all military, firefighters, police, and even others who do so much for us who may not get the recognition they deserve.
9/11: ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS <3
(I’m sure your husband will understand how horrible this story is) my family had a big kitchen fire 9/11 2001. So as everyone is glued to the tv and firefighters are watching members of the fdny die before their eyes, they had to come put out a kitchen fire. My father was taken to the hospital by ambulance because of smoke inhalation. Thinking about it now is funny but 11 years ago it was the worst thing. Of all days to have a fire!
Thank your husband for his work! I have nothing but absolute awe and respect for all our service men and women. We live in the greatest country in the world and are safe because of these selfless people. I can not say or type enough. All of them are in prayers every day. I love them all so much )
God bless our service men and women and the USA.
loved the meaning behind this video. thanks for sharing.
I was sleeping when it happened. I remember that my Mother woke me up and said I had to come and watch what was happening. It is still a powerful day and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by it. A special thought should be sent to all the Service Men and Women out there. Hope your husband is well today.
Holy dinasaur cry! That was an amazing video. Thank you for posting it. <3
Oh god…about 2:30 in just kills me when the little girl says “it’s been 5 years daddy… i’m trying not to cry, but…it still hurts.” GAH. Yes, we will never forget.
Cried! Important to remember the people who are gone but not forgotten! Makes you think about what you can do today so you don’t leave without telling others how much they mean to you…
Thank You, Gina and Pilot for the sacrifices you and your families make every day for all of us.
Great post.
My early a.m. spin instructor had a NY tribute playlist today. I thought that was a nice idea.
Thanks for sharing, Gina. God bless you and your family for their service and dedication. My fiance was in the Air Force for six years, and those men and women are truly special and I am astonished at what all they do for our country. <3
