10 Days of Giveaways: Day 4 (Minted)
I love love love holiday cards. Each holiday season, I look forward to receiving Christmas cards from our family and friends all over the world. We won’t see some of our closest friends for a year or so, as military life simultaneously binds us and creates distance, so it’s fun to see how much everyone’s families have changed since we last saw them. On our entryway table, I’ll prop up the Christmas cards we receive, and always look forward to sending ours out, too.
This year, Minted kindly offered to do our family’s cards, which was great timing, as we’d booked photos with Jacquelynn Buck here in Tucson. If you’re in Tucson and looking for a photographer, I can’t recommend her enough. She does gorgeous work, got my sometimes poker-faced little lovebug to smile (at a camera!), and works quickly, which is importante when you have a little one. (She didn’t give me a discount or anything because I have a blog. She’s truly amazing and I just wanted to spread the word.)
We ordered some photos and a canvas from her, and used her photos for our Christmas card, courtesy of Minted.
They have so many beautiful options, I had a hard time deciding! In the end, we went with this “Merry and Bright” theme with rounded corners.
I can’t wait for them to arrive!
Minted also offered to participate in our 10 days of giveaways with an awesome prize: two winners will each receive a $100 credit to their site. They make gorgeous holiday cards in addition to unique gifts like personalized stationary, decor, art prints, calendars and journals. If you’re gift shopping at Minted, you can use the code “HOLLY” to get 15% off holiday card orders of $150+ (10% off orders $100+) through today.
Here’s how to enter:
The winners will be announced in Sunday morning’s post. You have until Saturday night at midnight to enter <3

My son’s first picture with Santa has to be the funniest Christmas memory so far. He screamed bloody murder and looks absolutely miserable. Somehow I find it a million times cuter than if he had been smiling 🙂
I remember how we used to always leave out carrots for the reindeer (alongside Santa’s cookies) and we’d find them nibbled on in the morning.
Favorite holiday moment: Christmas 2011, 5 days after my husband and I found out that we were expecting our first baby! We slipped a photo of the positive pregnancy test in the cards that we gave to our parents, and their reactions were priceless! It was such a fun “gift” to give that year. 🙂
My siblings and I used to put on plays for our parents every year. Rehearsals were definitely my fav part of the holiday season!

You probably mean Christmas but as I don’t celebrate, I’ll talk about last Halloween. My niece is 3 and completely sweet. As I was leaving after our Halloween visit, she said to me “Aunt Megan, you can come to my house and say Trick-or-Treat any day you want.” Aww.
When my extended family is together for the holidays, all the men make breakfast. It’s usually complete with a few mistakes, but it’s tons of fun and full of memories.
I just love Minted! I hoping I can get my save-the-date cards from them 🙂
One of my favorite memories was at our family’s annual visit to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We ate at the Liberty Tree Tavern, which features characters and traditional holiday fare served family style. My brother who was a young teenager literally made an ENTIRE plate full of turkey and ham and was about to dig in before we all realized it. I took a picture of him with this ridiculous pile of food and Goofy happened to stop by the table at that moment for more pics. To this day every holiday I joke about Blake’s “plate of meat” and have these ridiculous pictures of my preteen brother with ridiculous amounts of food and Disney characters. It was so silly and we all still crack up. This year is the first year my mom made reservations to eat there in years so I’m curious if adult brother will make for equally ridiculous pics.
My basset hound puppy tried to eat our Christmas Tree and basset hound ornament last year. Hopefully this year he will leave the tree alone 🙂
Christmas Eve with my immediate family. All of us attend church together and then to my parents house for dinner and gift exchange.
I don’t really have any funny holiday moments, but I loved taking my daughter to see Santa for the first time. She was really young, but it was a fun, memorable moment for me.
favorite funny holiday moment..when my granny got bit on the leg by a squirrel. i’ve never seen people laugh so hard. it was pretty scary though..those things like to latch right on.
Funniest is seeing the new baby of the family’s reaction to Santa. Favorite is just being with family and enjoying their company 🙂
Sitting around a bonfire with the fam after the big meal — the best.
