Want some egg with that hot sauce?

Hey hey hey 😀 Hope your humpday was fabulous!

Viesa finally decided to sleep in a bed that’s her size:

013

A little while after my Asian-Mexican fusion disaster of a lunch I munched a perfectly ripe mango (using the mango-cutting method I described aquí):

014

And packed a sandwich to munch on the way to other other gym after spin and Zumba.

I used almond butter and this new (to me) spread from Trader Jizzles

017

018

It was a lot chunkier that I imagined and I loved the slight tartness. I wish the closet Trader Joe’s wasn’t 4 hours away! Bahhhh

Here’s my sandwich, ready to go (on Ezekiel):

019

(Sticking its tongue out)

And packed up the goods to teach and train:

021

(I didn’t end up eating the shot bloks… I’ll let ya know what I think when I try them! I’ve had the orange flavor before and they were just meh, so I’m hoping the cran-razz flavor –and texture- is better!)

Spin was bueno.. I had two new girls in the class and we did a lot of climbing and sprinting… I’m hoping I didn’t scare them away! And Zumba was a blasty, as usual.

Here’s tonight’s playlist (Hotel Room and Zocalypso were the new dances for the day)

image

After Zumba, I went back to the other gym to train the funny quotes lady… The funny quote of the day I can’t write on the blog –I like to keep things appropriate up in herrre- but I will tell you she had me snickering as usual 😀

No Indian for this girl tonight since I had a training appointment, but Megan and I have made a date for Friday! Soon, it will be mine….

When I got back to the casa after work, I had I had two egg whites swimming in a pool of Texas Pete.

022

Sooooo good. Reason #42638990 why I don’t think I could ever be 100% vegan. I make an effort, but when it comes to goat cheese, shrimp and egg whites, all bets are off.

Speaking of veganism, quite a few of you have been asking about my “beef” with dairy. I have no prob with dairy (and always keep organic milk, yogurt and cheese in the casa for the pilot) but I just have no desire to eat it anymore. Of course I’ll have the occasional ice cream, or cheese—I’m not saying I’ll *never* have it, but on an everyday basis, I don’t eat it. Milk has a ton of valuable nutrients, but is difficult for me to digest. Goat dairy is much easier to digest and I just enjoy the taste of goat cheese more and love my almond and hemp milk. And in 100% honesty, I just can’t imagine myself sucking on a cow udder. TMI? Perhaps 🙂

Well I’m off to shower my stinky face and then put on some jammies. Maybe some tea if I’m feeling crazy 😉

Enjoy your night <3

G$

Stay tuned for a giveaway that.. I’m jealous of! I want to win it! 😀

Hmm..can't say I can imagine myself sucking on a cow udder, either. Good point!!!! Definitely something to contemplate 😉

I know how you feel about going vegan. That's why I'm more of a flexitarian.

That mango looks so yummy and your dog is so cute!

  3. heartswholefoods on August 12, 2009 at 10:13 pm

Cow's milk is often hard for me to digest too, as delicious as yogurt and cheese are 🙂

Oooh, I must get that Superfruit spread stat!

  4. thresholdofgreatness on August 12, 2009 at 10:13 pm

    Viesa is gorgeous as always!

Yay for still having a date for Indian!

I often wonder when/why humans starting drinking other animals' milk. I hate milk plain, but love dairy products like cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. Even though I think it's kinda wrong with nature to eat, I still do. 🙂

OMG I love when people post pictures of dogs on their blogs! It makes me so happy!

    Can't wait for the giveaway!

I'm trying to cut back on my cow's dairy that I'm consuming… it's hard though!!!
Glad you made it home safely, and can't WAIT for you to come visit again so i can kidnap you:)

I love your perspective about the cow udder, LoL, I never thought of it that way!! I don't eat much dairy either. I am making a trip out to TJs this weekend, I will definitely have to look for that fruit spread, it sounds delish!!

  8. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on August 12, 2009 at 11:56 pm

Nearly eliminating dairy was the best thing I could have ever done for my own body and my own digestion, health, etc. but everyone has to carve their own path, for sure! It's great that if you like goat's milk cheese, you can have it and it agrees with you. For me, cow vs. goat doesn't make too much diff and neither really work. Oh well, there's always coconut milk 🙂

    Enjoy your nite!

I noticed the Canyon Ranch stuff – have you been?

  10. cookinandlookin on August 13, 2009 at 1:17 am

I've had the cran-razz flavor before, definitely not as bad as the orange. Even so, the idea of eating those blocks is just not that appealing unless you are REALLY in need of an energy boost. As for that mango, I loved hearing how you slice it. Let's just say my last attempt at cutting a mango was not so smooth…

  11. Juicy Jessy on August 13, 2009 at 2:00 am

lol you can't imagine yourself sucking on a cow udder, but a goat's udder is no prob? hihihi 😉

  12. The Globetrotter on August 13, 2009 at 2:20 am

Yuck… cow udder sucking 😉 bring on the nut milks!

  13. Emily Eats on August 13, 2009 at 2:48 am

    Thanks for posting the playlists!

I had a similar thought to you when I contemplated veganism. I thought it would be do-able, but every now and then I do so enjoy my scrambled eggs with soft goats cheese in, smothered in chipotle tabasco. I also don't enjoy cow dairy – when I gave that I up felt significantly better and my weight just fell off. There's definitely no going back on that one 🙂

    Have a great day!

Agreed, another animal's breast milk is not for me!

  16. Erica on August 13, 2009 at 6:14 am

I think trader joes needs to open a lot more stores down south! We need us some TJs!

The shot blox flavor really makes a huge difference. The margarita is actually really good.

Glad classes/clients went well! Eggs with hot sauce and cheese is a heavenly combo!

  17. Pam (Highway to Health) on August 13, 2009 at 7:50 am

    Viesa is too darn cute.

I'm thinking about cutting most dairy out of my diet as well. It makes me break out and it's definitely hard to digest. I get it!

  18. Paige@ Running Around Normal on August 13, 2009 at 8:13 am

Hmm I couldn't suck on a cow udder either, but what about a goat udder?! LOL

Sounds like you had a lovely day. That jam sounds good!

  19. shelby on August 13, 2009 at 8:39 am

I tell people that when they ask me why I don't drink milk! I'm not sucking on a cow udder!!!

  20. Jenna on August 13, 2009 at 8:57 am

gina, your playlist is awesome! does your class enjoy your music?

  21. Meggilizz on August 13, 2009 at 9:02 am

I could never be a Vegan either! I love meat & dairy too much. That spread looks amazing AND there's NO SUGAR!!!!! 🙂 Awesome find! I'm going to TJ's this weekend, so I'll have to pick some up!

  22. allijag on August 13, 2009 at 9:16 am

I'm totally with you on your millionth reason why you couldnt be vegan – eggs and shrimp are just too good to pass up! 🙂 Love supermodel V – looks pretty even when sleeping 😉

  23. Jen on August 13, 2009 at 9:33 am

Thanks for your play lists, it helps me so much to get ideas for my running play list! 🙂

  24. brandi on August 13, 2009 at 9:39 am

I think eggs are the main reason I don't think I could go vegan either. veg? totally, even though I haven't. I think I just don't want to put a label on how I eat because it doesn't need to be defined.

can't wait to see the giveaway! will it include macaroons? 🙂

  25. Holly B on August 13, 2009 at 10:02 am

I hear you on the vegan points- why must we feel like we need to put a label on ourselves?

Do you have any issue with egg yolk by any chance?

  26. britt on August 13, 2009 at 10:40 am

yeah, i defintely understand not wanting dairy. cow's milk is much more difficult for my stomach to handle, especially ice cream. i could never give up cheese, though. i just love it too much. it's always good to give yourself options as and not live by a label and i think that's exactly what you are doing.

  27. mrsrazon on August 13, 2009 at 11:12 am

I can't digest dairy, either. People don't seem to understand that that's a real thing. The only animal products I eat anymore are organic eggs and honey, but I do on a rare occasion have a slice of pizza or some ice cream… I pay for it, but that's okay.

  28. Kristi (sweet cheeks) on August 13, 2009 at 12:12 pm

I agree with you; goat cheese is just plain BETTER! YUM.

Hope you have a great Thursday!

  29. Fitnessista on August 13, 2009 at 1:20 pm

a toroto girl out west- yup i've been to canyon ranch quite a few times.. i love it so much

brandi- nope, no macaroons on this one.. that's a good idea though!

holly b- nope i don't have a prob with egg yolk. i'll have it occasionally but usually just have the whites so i can get the protein, skip out on the fat, and have less cals

  30. A Toronto girl out West on August 13, 2009 at 6:44 pm

    Fitnessista,

Ummm . . . I'm actually considering doing something like that for my bachelorette. So much better for me than getting trashed in Vegas!

    Hi,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing your playlists- for me, music is the only thing keeping me motivated at the gym and once I’m bored with my music, it’s all over. So it is super helpful to have people like you sharing their playlists so that I can keep my music fresh and stay motivated.
    Thanks again!
