A very special blogiversary [giveaway]- ended

Hi friends ๐Ÿ™‚ Howโ€™s your morning going? Hope youโ€™re having a wonderful day. <3

So the blog is 3 years old!!

roon

The blog actually turned 3 last week, but with the Summer Shape Up and exciting news, I didnโ€™t want to overload the week with too much going on.

For this post, I was originally planning on doing a list of events that have happened in the past 3 years, and then I realized:

1. A LOT of stuff has gone down and

2. the events arenโ€™t what matter– itโ€™s about the community, support, discussions and relationships that have been created in this tiny speck on the internet ๐Ÿ™‚ You are 99.9% of the reason why this blog is what it isโ€ฆ I just write it, youโ€™re the ones who show up for the party ๐Ÿ™‚

This little blog began as an urge to share my love of health and a distraction from online shopping while I was bored in Valdosta – it has grown so much in the past 3 years. Itโ€™s changed and evolved with me, and Iโ€™ve had so much fun writing every word.

As a little thank you for changing my life, making this so rewarding and enjoyable, and just for being awesome, I thought it would be fun to do a little giveaway. Giving is always better than receiving for special occasions, anyway ๐Ÿ™‚ I picked a few of my absolute favorite things and this giveaway is sponsored by myself and the Pilot ๐Ÿ˜€

To go with the โ€œ3 yearsโ€ theme, there will be 3 different winners:

-1 commenter will receive my favorite lululemon jacket, the Define Jacket in a color/size of their choice ($99)

-1 Facebook fan will receive a pair of Toms shoes (size/color of choice) and a Nars Orgasm blush from Sephora ($100)

image image

(Iโ€™m OBSESSED with the new crochet ones!! And everyone needs this blush)

-1 Twitter friend will receive a iTools Style Winder 1โ€ curling iron ($140)

image romper

(I still owe ya a video on how to use it, because itโ€™s life-changing)

+ each winner will receive a dozen macaroons in a flavor of their choice ๐Ÿ˜€

roons (3)

This means you have 3 different ways to win 3 different prizes:

***This giveaway has ended as of 9:35 EST on June 15.

Thank you again for an incredible 3 years ๐Ÿ™‚

Love you guys,

Gina

Happy blogiversary! I would love to see more on adapting meals from pilot style to your style. You and the pilot eat similarly to my husband and I, but I always feel like I’m preparing two seperate meals and one always gets cold before the other is ready.

  17. Kim on June 14, 2011 at 1:55 pm

Happy blogiversary! I have been reading for a few months now and I think this might be my first comment! I read all your family posts last night – love them! And you are too kind to host this giveaway!

  22. Rachel on June 14, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Nice job picking out the prizes for these giveaways! I rarely enter giveaways, but these are all too good to resist at least trying to win! I’m loving your pregnancy posts…and I know this is weird since I don’t know you personally, but I actually got choked up when i read you were pregnant. One request: more pictures of the pilot? hah! i feel like that’s probably the most common request you get. I’m not original….:)

  23. Caitlin Brinson on June 14, 2011 at 1:56 pm

I can’t wait to see how you do with working out and working during pregnancy! Love your blog ๐Ÿ™‚

  27. Maggie on June 14, 2011 at 1:59 pm

    Hi!
I generally just lurk (hehe) but having just tried on the Define jacket and fallen in love, I’ll say hello:) Your blog has motivated me so much, so I don’t want it to change! Although when I read about your pregnancy I actually got chills, I really appreciate you keeping those posts kinda separate. I love hearing about all natural stretch creams as much as the next girl, but, being a younger reader (are there any others??), the whole birth thing is a little alienating ( I’m still in that ‘terrified of birth’ phase). As for changes, I’d like to hear your opinions on current healthy trends, like barefoot running, benefits of kombucha and other superfoods, etc. I’m finding the research and science behind such trends to be a little confusing!

  28. Amber M on June 14, 2011 at 1:59 pm

Hi Gina! I could really use some macaroons! On Friday, June 10, I took a pregnancy test and was thrilled to find out I was pregnant. Saturday, we told all of our family about our bigs news. Sunday, I started to spot and cramp, but tried to stay calm and hopeful. Monday morning at about 3 am, I woke up and realized I was officially having a miscarriage :'(

It has been the worst week of my life, but I’ve tried to stay positive, and I’ve even kept busy by teaching vacation bible school at my church. The kids take my mind off of the heartbreak, but it hurts, and I just need some good comfort food and funny movies to watch. Netflix has that covered in the movie section, but I think macaroons could really cheer me up (is that silly?)

What I would love to see on the blog: It is hard to say because I love everything that you do already, and I never miss a blog post. Even though I am no longer pregnant, I hope to be again someday in the future, and I think I’d enjoy seeing some pregnancy yoga posts. Or just yoga workouts for non pregnant people.

Thanks for having such an awesome blog that always lifts me up!
    -Amber

I was so excited about the giveaway of macaroons, that I skipped the blog to go straight to comments, and then when I went back to read, I was like “Ohhh…it isn’t just macaroons!” But, I really think I’d just be happy with some macaroons lol.

I enjoy your writing voice. I’m hoping you’ll do more posts regarding working out while pregnant.

  31. Jen on June 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm

I love your blog. I would like to see more on-the-go food. How do you make decisions when you forget a snack and temptation is all around?

  32. Sarah on June 14, 2011 at 2:01 pm

All awesome prizes! I think you’re doing a great job and have a lot of cool/different content, everything from food to fitness to fashion to babies. Keep at it!

  36. Aditi on June 14, 2011 at 2:03 pm

I’d like to see you keep up the food trends/new healthy options. I’ve learned so much ( kale chips etc) and always look forward to more!

  37. Heather from NC on June 14, 2011 at 2:03 pm

I am a fairly new reader but I rarely miss a post. One of the things I love about your blog is reading new ideas for healthy and delicious snacks and meals. Tastebud boredom gets my healthy eating off-track so I really enjoy seeing new flavor combos you create. Hummus and TJ’s balsamic dressing on a salad is genius but I never would have thought of it. I am also getting a passion tea (with one pump) and salt and pepper popcorn every time I pass a starbucks now ๐Ÿ˜‰

I also love when you post pics of your grocery trips. Is that strange?

Mostly I am looking forward to seeing all of the exciting changes in your life with the new house and new baby!

  38. Lisa on June 14, 2011 at 2:04 pm

I would love to see more recipes ๐Ÿ™‚

  42. Beth on June 14, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Happy blogiversary!! Thanks so much for sharing your life with everyone. And thank you thank you thank you for all your awesome food suggestions (and the pictures. Sometimes I want to eat my laptop screen because the food looks so yummy!). I pretty much have the workout thing down, but I love to try new things, and I find it very helpful when you give reviews about different programs, dvds, classes, etc. I would love to see more of those. Again, happy blogiversary, and congrats to you and the pilot!

  43. Lyndi on June 14, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Happy Blog Anniversary! Congratulations. I am looking forward to you sharing your own stories while pregnant and also sharing stories of being fit around the world. Be great to hear more about fitness on the go and fitness for the office hunched-over-the-desk worker.

  44. Heather (veganunderwear) on June 14, 2011 at 2:06 pm

I want to see more recipes! and I’d be interested in seeing your workout routine while pregnant, even though I don’t plan on becoming pregnant myself [at least anytime soon :P].

your blog is one of the few i read every single day. twice. morning and evening. i love it just the way it is. i think you cover it all and have a good balance. so excited to read about your journey into mommy-hood. my own journey to that title wasn’t an easy peasy one. but most days i have to pinch myself to know that this is for real. life sure feels like a fairy tale for me at this point. no matter how those babes come, they are such miracles. congratulations!
