Both sides of the spectrum (+ a giveaway!)- ENDED!
My oven has seen both sides of the spectrum today.ย
When I was home for my lunch break, my brothers were here hanging out with the Pilot and Oliv, and Kyle asked me if I’d help him make something for a Bacon Party he was headed to tonight with Meg. (For anyone lacking theme ideas for a holiday party, you’re welcome. Haha) Kyle always helps me with random errands/tragedies/life, so I knew I could help a bro out. The thing is, I don’t really speak bacon.
I like the turkey variety ok, but it’s just not really my thing. He knew he wanted to make something sweet, so I knew just where to go. I typed “bacon cookie” into the search bar and whaddaya know? Bacon cookies.. with peanut butter.ย
Thank you to Jessica for sponsoring 90% of our holiday desserts thus far ๐
(We doubled the recipe- that was about 1/3 of the final amount)
We made the bacon cookies, with incoherent stammering and victory dance moves from the happy guys “taste-testing” the candied bacon along the way. Word on the street is those cookies will rock your world (Kyle tried to peer pressure me into tasting one, but I opted out. They smelled divine, though.)
After Meg and Kyle headed to the party, I made some dinner using farm box ingredients that I didn’t want to go bad.
Butternut squash rounds with tomatoย goat cheeseย and roasted garlic-balsamic chicken.
Not.too.shabby.
We still haven’t Christmasified anything, but our neighbors are already on it! I’ll never forget the Pilot peering through the garage and swearing when he found out we moved onto Christmas Lane. Bring on the 10 ft inflatable snowman.
I hope you’re all enjoying the weekend so far! It’s been a beautiful and relaxing one.
Long run in the morning and then there are some crepes with our names on themโฆ.
Have a great night!
xoxo

Giveaway time!ย My PR friend at Canyon Ranch asked me if I’d like to give away two Canyon Ranch workout DVDs: “Strong and Sculpted”
(three 20-minute segments: yoga, strength and core, bonus segments on bone strengthening and protection, muscle building and foods to reduce inflammation)
and “Yoga for Strength and Energy” (two 20-minute yoga flows, a cool down and bonus features, including eating and sleeping for energy, healthy lifestyle changes).ย
The DVDs will be amazing additions to a quick and effective at-home workout routine, and here’s the kicker: you know those gluten-free chocolate chip cookies I’m obsessed with? I asked if they’d throw in a batch for the winner and the chef said yes ๐
This giveaway has ended as of midnight EST 11/26!
Thank you so much to everyone for entering and congrats to the lucky winner (chosen via random number generator: page 1, comment 37)
Sam, who said:
Iโd love to win because I need to start working out at home- Iโm a med student and life is just too crazy to make it to fitness classes often enough! My major goal would be to wake up early and get my workout done before class, but this night owl does not like 6am!
Congrats, Sam!! Send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com) and I’ll forward it along to the Canyon Ranch fairy ๐
Stay tuned for more amazing giveaways! xoxo

I want to win because I’m in college and Yoga DVDs would be PERFECT dorm room workouts! And cookies on the side? The perfect study treat for upcoming finals!! (:
I’d like to win because I love having go-to home workout options, and I love cookies! ๐ PS… I tried your Black Friday Frenzy workout yesterday– amazing!!
Because I’m a wimp when it comes to running in the rain and these would make a nice indoor workout option!
I live ~100 miles from the nearest gym, so I’m always looking for new ways to work out from home. My DVD collection is limited to yoga so far, so this one would be great!

I would love to give this to my mom for Christmas. She’s always looking for new workouts at home.
I ended my gym membership several months ago and have been looking for some new ways to stay in shape by working out at home. The word “sculpt” really caught my attention ;). And I am also loving yoga lately so this sounds perfect!
Wow, this is awesome! The reason I want to win is because during the next several months I will be working “crazy hours- 18+ per day, no time to go to the gym :(. This would be a perfect stress reliever!
Thanks Gina!
You know I stalked the whole menu on the website when you posted about those cookies! (Even though I may never get to go there).
Thanks for all you do, Gina.
I want to win because work has been kicking my ass lately and I can’t make it to the gym for the classes I like because they are too late for me. I want something that feels like a class that I can do from my living room at my own time
Sorry for the swearing! No other way to describe he hard work has been!
My new work schedule and commute make getting to the gym difficult so I am in the market for things I can do at home. These videos would be perfect!

I’d love to win because Heather is a friend of mine. We were instructors at Sierra fitness together and I really respect her. I never her tried her DVD and heard great things about it. She is my inspiration both inside the gym and as a person…by the way , she is an AMAZING pastry chef. For my bday, 2 years ago she made me a cake with 3 inches of party icing decorating the top of the cake with me doing Chest presses in a skort. I’d love to email you a pic of the cake. She could definitely win a food network cupcake war:)
Those DVDs would be so helpful for me to get back into weekly yoga.. It has been way too long!
Hi Gina! How you can turn down a BACON cookie, girrrl? My husband’s jaw would drop if I told him I passed up an opportunity like that ๐ LOL
I would love to win the DVDs because I am 16 weeks pregnant and in need of a workout fix – I’m stuck between my pre-pregnancy workouts and, well…this new-to-me belly ๐ I’ve been walking and incorporating a little jogging here and there, but I really need to re-introduce yoga and light-weight lifting into my routine as well. I think these DVDs would be the perfect segue.
And I love chocolate chip cookies (so does bambino(a) <–we find out Christmas Eve day!!!) and I maintain a gluten free lifestyle so I feel like it is meant to be ๐
Thanks, Gina! Always enjoy reading your blog.
Kimberly

Bacon cookies sound delish! In fact, I kinda wish I read your post earlier, that way I would have made bacon cookies instead of this low fat pumpkin chocolate chip bread that’s in my oven.
I’d like to win a DVD because I’m a grad student training for my first marathon, and I have very little time to spare. Lately I’ve done all my cross training using the workout DVDs that I have, so a new one would be a change in my routine and a great addition.

I enjoy how you always have give-aways of items that you love. I would love to try these DVDs.
I would love to vacation at Canyon Ranch. Doing those workout DVD’s would be like a mini-vacation! I need a change from the home DVD’s I use now which include yoga and Insanity. My knees aren’t too happy with Shaun T. anymore although my eyes still appreciate him!
Plus the chocolate chip cookies sound like the cookies of my dreams.
I’d love that yoga DVD!!! Now that I’m in the routine of doing yoga daily, I find it much easier to squeeze it in at home, and I don’t have any DVDs!!!
Yoga and cookies. What a great treat! I’d love to try the Canyon Ranch DVDs! It would be great to have an at-home yoga option for the holiday season, when it gets tough to stick to my practice. Thanks for the giveaway!
these DVDs look great – and like they’d be a great complement to cross fit. i need some yoga in my life.
I would love to add those dvds to my work-outs! And who can say know to cookies, lol!!
These videos would be a great tool for my pre-new years resolution to exercise more. After this weekend there is no need to wait until January – I’m starting now! ๐
I would LOVE the DVD’s since my fiance has recently said he needs to get in shape and drop a few lbs, he wants to workout together at home., but…he’s not quite the “let’s go for a run” or “let’s go to the gym together” kind of guy!
It’s cold in Boston (I’m from LA) ๐ having a DVD would help me avoid going outside to get a workout in lol.

I would loveeee to win these DVDs! I am in desperate need of some new workouts! These would be perfect:)
these dvds would be such a help to keep me on track during the holidays! I work retail, so my schedule is crazier than ever. It would be nice to know I have something new to try at home instead of worrying about if I have time to squeeze in a workout at the gym.
Would love these! I NEED some motivation!

Why I want to win?
Because I need some kind of motivation right now. I always say this and always say “tomorrow” but find myself tomorrow eating crud just like always. :/

I would love to win because I find it very difficult to get to the gym in the snow! I’m from Canada ๐
Also, those cookies look fab.u.lous!
