Friday Faves 6.30

Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you’re having a wonderful morning. I’m off to the eye doctor today and am crossing my fingers to get the all clear to start wearing contacts again. It’s been a bit hard to function in glasses for the past five weeks so I’m really, really hoping I’ll be able to wear my contacts, even just for a few hours each day.

We are back in Tucson after 12 days in Europe and it.was.magical. I’ll be posting a full recap of our trip, so stay tuned for all of the details! I’ll prob split it into two posts: Rome and the 7-night Italy and Greece Disney cruise. If you have any questions I can answer or include in my post(s), please let me know.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section.

Life:

(I’ll dream about this tuna pizza foreverrrrrr. So salty and savoy and amazing)

Our trip! I have a lot to say about it, but it was such a gift to spend so much time together as a family, without the distractions of life, work, and chores. I pre-wrote eight beefy blog posts to auto-publish while I was gone, and it was amazing to be truly present and not have to focus on content creation. The Pilot also got to take a break from work, and we could just enjoy time together in some breathtakingly beautiful places! It was definitely the trip of a lifetime.

Fashion + beauty:

This athletic dress! I had to see what the hype was about, and it LIVES UP to it. The fabric is a dream, it has a built-in bra with soft, removable cups, and shorts, you know, if you actually want to be athletic in it. I wore my dress while lounging in Rome, eating chocolate croissants, and it served that purpose equally well. 😉 I’m ordering two more colors!

Sharing some more love for Vivobarefoots. I wore my white low-top ones this entire trip and they felt awesome. My referral link gets you 15% off.

A similar version of my fave visor.

Read, watch, listen:

Anyone else that can’t wait for the Barbie movie? It looks so fun and clever; like the perfect summer movie.

Just finished this book. It was sweet and intriguing. Not my fave of the summer – that goes to this one!! – but still a light and enjoyable read.

Fun movie ideas.

Fitness, health + good eats:

Thinking of attempting this gnocchi even though we all know it won’t be the same lol.

A total body barre workout.

More clues on how exercise can decrease inflammation.

Making this chocolate pie for our 4th of July bbq.

Today is the last day to use my code FITNESSISTA10 for 10% off at EquiLife. You can use this for the detox – we start as a community on July 10 – or any supplements you’ve been needing. It’s free shipping storewide right now, too!

Happy Friday, friends!

xoxo

Gina

PS congrats to the winner of the sneaky Organifi giveaway, Laura! I’ll be reaching out to order your prize for you 🙂

when you travel do you use the pilot’s flight benefits if he still works in the private sector?

    • Fitnessista on June 30, 2023 at 11:34 am

we didn’t for this particular trip, but we have before. the girls and i haven’t tried it yet – it can be tricky with availability – but for a couple of trips, the pilot has used his jump seat benefits. if they have space on the plane, he can get a spot, and also sit in the cockpit with the other pilots if there’s room available in the main cabin. they usually have a couple of jump seat spots available on each flight

Interested to know how much a trip like this cost… probably 20k? That’s not accessible for most readers, just keep in mind (-:

Why is that your business? She’s sharing her trip, not suggesting everyone go do it….

Because it’s always an avalanche of overconsumption and very expensive vacation but never do we feel like she knows it’s not the usual life 99% of people in America can afford. It makes me very mad because most people will read this and compare to their life, working hard and just making ends meet. Nobody I know buys 350$ sneakers in two different colours. It’s a completely different world. I think the niche for this blog has changed a lot and most people probably can’t relate anymore. It’s fine to do blogging for luxury life or rich people but let’s not pretend it’s a middle class blog anymore.

          hi amanda,
i responded to your last (negative) comment. you constantly come here to gripe at me for random things. i’m not telling you what to do or how to live your life. if you don’t enjoy the blog anymore, that’s ok. no one is forcing you to be here.

            GO HOME AMANZA TROLL!
Gina you and your husband clearly work your ass off, enjoy the fruits of your labor and the sacrifices your husband has made. If someone doesn’t like what you write about….close the browser. Takes one second.
People like this are the sadness of society.

I do feel like some of the fashion/clothes posts are unrelatable, (not in my budget anyway!), but again, it’s a fitness blog and HER blog so she can post as she chooses, and you & I & others can all either read it or not and have our own opinions. It just doesn’t seem right to come tell her what she can/can not spend HER money on.

Glad you had a great family vacay! I followed on insta and can’t wait for the recaps! 🙂

With two young girls we are just getting into Disney. I didn’t even know there was a cruise outside of the US and this looks amazing. Thank you so much for sharing!

Wasn’t going to comment until I saw the negative one above and just wanted to jump in and say I, for one, can’t wait to hear a full recap! I actually have a trip booked next year to Italy (booked a full year out so we have time to save and pay in cash…so yes, it’s a thing that’s attainable for some if you plan and budget, etc. etc.) Keep doing you – can’t wait for all the details and recs!

Can’t wait to read more about your trip! For your athletic dress, I’m wondering what color you ordered. Yours looks so bright, but it doesn’t look like the lavender one on Amazon now. I might order lavender and black:)

    • Fitnessista on July 7, 2023 at 6:14 pm

I adjusted the saturation- it’s lavender! You’ll love it

      • Kara on July 7, 2023 at 7:07 pm

        Awesome! Thanks Gina♥️
