Friday Faves 8.11
Praying for the people of Maui this week, for their safety, and recovery from theย devastating fires. Itโs such a beautiful and special place, and itโs been absolutely heartbreaking to see photos of the damage. If youโre looking for ways to help, check out this link.ย
Hi hi! Happy Friday! How are you? I hope youโe enjoying the week! Itโs been a bit of a blur over here since the kids went back to school. The morning wakeups have been rough lol, but theyโre happy to be back with their teachers and friends.
Before school started, we had a couple of fun last-minute adventures.
The girls and I went to pick veggies at Apple Annieโs with some friends. They had an awesome selection of peppers, melons, eggplant, squashes, green beans, corn, and okra.
We got a huge stash of veggies for the week, along with a giant watermelon and cantaloupe, some honey and salsa from the shop, and lots of apple butter. After veggie picking, we had Mexican food at La Unica in Wilcox. Definitely check it out if youโre in the area! They serve breakfast all day and have amazing horchata.
After lunch, we took the girls to see “The Thing” since they were all intrigued by multiple billboards. The venue has gotten an upgrade since I was a kid.
We also had an afternoon bowling with my mom and nani! Weโve gone roller skating and bowling lately; turns out we thoroughly enjoy vintage activities that require rented footwear that many others have worn since at least the 1960s.
Itโs time for the weekly Friday Faves party! This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something youโre loving in the comments section below.
Friday Faves 8.11
Health, fitness, good eats:
#1: all of the details about my newest program are going out to newsletter subscribers on Monday! Make sure youโre subscribed to my newsletter here for a discount code + early access. Spots will fill up. I canโt wait to share this with you! Everything will be posted here on the blog on Wednesday.
SO many good eats this week! We had ratatouille, per the girlsโ request, with some of the veggies we picked:
(The tomatoes I bought from the grocery store ended up being gross on the inside, but it was still delicious without them)
This glorious lemon and pesto tuna pasta
and a gluten-free zucchini bead, made with one of the giant zucchini from the farm and Trader Joeโs gluten-free flour.
We also had crispy okra in the air fryer, with corn bread with bbq chicken. I guess for cooking inspiration, we just need to pick everything that week. ๐
Fashion + beauty:
You guyyyyyyys. So Iโve been wanting a new tennis necklace, but didnโt really want to spend $$$$ because I tend to get worried about things getting lost or ruined. I have a real tennis bracelet that Iโve worn maybe five times because Iโm so scared of it falling off and getting lost. I was browsing Amazon and came across this one. Itโs SO pretty and sparkly; I get compliments on it all the time! Also, I can wear it every day with worrying about something happening to it. 10/10 recommend. Link is here!
lululemon finds. Liv and I got a little lululemon haul the other day, because sheโs heading back to dance, and Iโm heading back toโฆ life. ๐
