Rodan + Fields giveaway

Hi friends! We’re enjoying one last day in Cali, but in the meantime, I have some fun posts planned! Today is a giveaway and Fashion post, and tomorrow: a new dance cardio video. Hope you’re having a wonderful start to your week! xo

_______________________________________________________________

My normal skincare routine would probably make some people shudder.

It involves using a little cleanser (usually Yes To brand or Juice Beauty) on the Clairsonic at night, nighttime moisturizer, and tinted SPF moisturizer for day. Once or twice a week, I feel fancy and use a LUSH face mask. That’s it. Full-on skincare/makeup routines freak me out a little bit (toner, exfoliator, makeup remover, primer, whaaaaat?!) and I always feel intimidated when I check out new products. If it ain’t broke, right?

Well, my friend Jeni has always had absolutely gorgeous skin. In the 5 years I’ve known her, it’s continued to become even more vibrant and beautiful. When she last came to visit, it was absolutely glowing, so I asked what products she’d been using. (Unlike me, Jeni knows about makeup and skincare and stuff haha.) She had started using the Rodan + Fields products (founded by the same doctors who created the ProActiv solution) and loved them so much that she became a consultant for them. Since I was curious to try it out, she offered to send me some samples when she got home. (And because she’s one of my closest friends and know it’s important to me, she also triple-checked to make sure that the products weren’t tested on animals. Rodan +Fields is cruelty-free and supported by PETA.)

When I first opened the package, I was really excited to try out the facial, lip serum and exfoliator she sent. The verdict? I absolutely loved everything. My skin looked noticeably different in a couple of weeks. Since I found the products to be extremely effective (yet gentle enough for my sensitive skin) I asked Jeni if she might be able to do a giveaway.

Here’s what one lucky winner will receive:

Rodan

Mini Facial:

You can check out more of the products on her site here and there is a solution tool to help decide what products would be best for your skin.

How to enter:

Just leave a comment with with your favorite skincare or beauty product. If I had to narrow it down to one, mine would be Moroccan oil. It makes my hair smell great and keeps the frizzies away.

I’ll pick the winner via random number generator and announce in this week’s Friday Faves post.

Hope you have a wonderful day! <3

xoxo

Gina

(Not sponsored– just wanted to support one of my best friends and spread the word about this awesome line)

I have super sensitive skin, so I use Pond’s for sensitive skin! I would love to find another product!

    • Jeni on July 17, 2013 at 12:42 am

Hi, I would love to tell you about our soothe line. It is amazing and can help skin with sensitivity, redness, and rosacea. Most people can tell a difference after the first use. If you would like to talk please email me and we can set up a time. You can find my email address on my website. Thanks.

Hi, I would love to tell you about their new line. We have four different regimens. The doctors decided to do for anti aging what they did for acne in the 90’s with Proactiv. They have Redefine (anti aging), Unblemish (acne), Soothe (sensitive skin, rosacea), and Reverse (sun damage, dark spots, and dullness). The started selling Rodan and Fields in high end department stores and were actually the number 1 clinical selling brand before they decided to pull out and use direct sells. They figured this way their products can reach everyone, not just people who have access to high end stores. It also gives many of us the opportunity to be a part of their success. You can find my email address on my site. If you would like we can set up a time to talk. Thanks.

I’m with you on the Moroccan oil – it makes such a huge difference with my hair!

My number one choice would probably be any form of sunscreen, as much as I wish my fair skin would tan it just always burns and goes back to pale, and red skin is not cute.

  5. Christina on July 16, 2013 at 10:58 pm

Bobbi Brown creamy concealer hands down. I can’t live without it! I have hereditary dark circles underneath my eyes that never go away. A few dabs of this stuff every morning and you’d never know! If I could only use one makeup product for the rest of my life this would be it.

Baking soda followed by coconut oil for hair. Shampoo with the baking soda and then let the coconut oil sit in hair for 5 minutes in a steaming shower. I’ve never had smoother, fuller hair at such a low cost!

Waveline (Dark blue) MAC gel eyeliner with tiny brush to paint on. I look dead to the world without eyeliner and this one can be casual or dramatic, depending on how much I use.

Coconut oil for my hair and body – leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and my hair soft and shiny.

I recently started using grape seed oil for my face, which removes my makeup and leaves my face feeling clean and moisturized. I have always had combination skin that used to get oily throughout the day, but grape seed oil has really helped to neutralize my face, so I no longer feel dry patches and an oily T-zone. Loving it!

I LOVE the Hope in a jar facial moisturizer by philosophy 🙂

(Sorry computer meltdown!) after years of using tons of products to get rid of acne I’ve ended up with the ” less is more” mentality and have been loving coconut oil! Great moisturizer, good on hair, sunburns, cooking… Haha.

I would have to say my favorite skin care product would be Egyptian Magic. You can put it on anything!!! I normally put it all over my face and lips before I go to bed. It helps with dry skin, break outs, burns, cuts, dark under eyes, and so much more. You can even put it in your hair to help decrease the frizz and increase the moisture!! The ingredients are all natural and it has so many functions 🙂

  22. Yvonne on July 16, 2013 at 11:45 pm

Ahh! My friend just told me about this on Sunday and she is thinking about becoming a rep! I’m loving a DIY lemon and organic sugar face scrub! Free, easy, and cost efficient! Great post!

    • Jeni on July 17, 2013 at 12:55 am

Hi, your friend should definitely become a consultant. It is such a great opportunity and the company has won many awards.

I’m a simple girl when it comes to skin care/makeup myself! Usually don’t wear makeup but when I do, mascara and blush are my go-tos that just make me feel pretty and a bit brighter without feeling overly made up 🙂

  28. Katie O on July 16, 2013 at 11:59 pm

I love, love, love coconut oil as a skincare product!

  29. Sam on July 17, 2013 at 12:04 am

My favorite skincare product would be a toss up between coconut oil or witch hazel. I use witch hazel every night and it just clears my skin up nicely. I’ve been trying to switch over to eco-friendly/organic products lately but as a college student with a s income it’s a tad bit hard. Would love to try something new to get my skin in tiptop shape.

I am actually just starting to search for a really good skin care company. I ordered a new one last week, and it came the other day. So far I have been loving it, probably because of the summery smell of the coconut. 🙂 It’s from a company named Pacifica. It’s 100% vegan. Cruelty-free. 🙂

  32. Andrea on July 17, 2013 at 12:23 am

I have a horrible skincare routine (luckily my mom gave me decent skin genes)! However, I will go on streaks of being awesome with my skincare routine then of course–those extra few minutes of sleep sound so much better! My favorite EVERY DAY skincare is Olay Regenerist Eye Touch of Concealer Eye Regenerating Cream! I would love to see if this brand has anything for under eye circles and bags!

    • Jeni on July 19, 2013 at 4:27 pm

I’d love to try these products. I’m always on the look out for good sun protection as well as every day beauty care 🙂

My fave at the moment is Nuxe oil. This French brand smells divine and the oil is so versatile. Nourishes and hydrates the skin, especially after sun exposure, and makes a great dry ends treatment for hair!

  42. Sarah s on July 17, 2013 at 1:41 am

Moroccan oil for sure! I have (on a good day) extremely curly hair, and (on a bad day) extremely frizzy hair. Saying Moroccan oil changed my hair is not an exaggeration!

Definitely the Clarisonic. I can use it every day and it makes my face feel so clean 🙂
