Savory Vitamix Recipes + a giveaway!
I’ve had a long-term love affair with my Vitamix. It was one of my very first exciting blog gifts, and I’ve used it almost every day since. I even ended up taking it with me on my honeymoon! (Maybe I should be embarrassed that I traveled with a giant blender, but nope. I own it.) I can confidently say it’s my favorite and most-often-used kitchen appliance.
Of course, when you think of Vitamix, what’s the first thing to come to mind?
Smoothies.
We have lots and lots of smoothies in our house…
But, the beauty of the Vitamix is that you can make pretty much anything with the high-powered blender, including nut butters, flours and savory recipes.
Here are some of my favorite savory Vitamix recipes: my favorite salsa, spinach and artichoke dip, and roasted vegetable soup. (<– all vegan, too!)
Hope you enjoy!
[Read on for the recipes and your chance to win a Vitamix of your own!]
My favorite salsa
This salsa is amazing for parties and tastes just like the restaurant version. It makes quite a bit, so store in jars in the fridge or gift some to friends and family with a bag of your favorite chips.

- Total Time: 10
Ingredients
- 28 oz can of whole, peeled tomatoes, drained
- 14 oz diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
- Juice of one lime
- 1–2 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (or you can use a fresh jalapeƱo)
- pinch of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 scallions, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro
Instructions
- In the Vitamix, add the scallions, garlic, chipotle and cilantro. “Pulse” to chop by setting the speed on medium and quickly switching between “on” and “off.”
- Add the remaining ingredients and blend on medium speed until chopped and combined.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary.
- Serve with your favorite chips, or keep on hand for a wonderful omelet, sweet potato or chicken topping.
Spinach and artichoke dip
A savory dip that’s also wonderful as a salad component, spread on sandwiches on with your favorite protein.

Instructions
- In a large pan on medium heat, add a little olive oil or butter and sautƩ the garlic and onion until soft and translucent.
- Add the spinach and heat through.
- Transfer the mixture to the Vitamix and add your artichoke hearts and lemon juice.
- Pulse well to combine.
- Serve with crackers as a quick and lovely appetizer, or store in the fridge to enjoy on sandwiches and salads throughout the week.
Roasted Vegetable Soup
A comforting and hearty bowl of soup, best-served with crusty bread and your favorite salad

Would loooove to make my favorite green juices from whole foods with my own vitamix š

Thanks for all you do!

I would definitely start with a super smooth green smoothie!!
I was just saying how much I would LOVE Vitamix! My obsession with frozen banana smoothies/ice cream is outrageous! I would love to start making more salsas/dips/sauces/soups myself instead of buying them.

I just got a Viatmix for Christmas and I have yet to try it out! These recipes will be a great start. Very excited to try the spin dip for Superbowl š
The first thing I would make is a trip to deliver the Vitamix to my daughter! It would be a dream come true for her and her family as the vast majority of their diet is prepared at home from scratch.
Unfortunately my med student budget doesn’t have wiggle room for a vitamix right now, but I’d love one to whip up some homemade nut butters š
