Savory Vitamix Recipes + a giveaway!
I’ve had a long-term love affair with my Vitamix. It was one of my very first exciting blog gifts, and I’ve used it almost every day since. I even ended up taking it with me on my honeymoon! (Maybe I should be embarrassed that I traveled with a giant blender, but nope. I own it.) I can confidently say it’s my favorite and most-often-used kitchen appliance.
Of course, when you think of Vitamix, what’s the first thing to come to mind?
Smoothies.
We have lots and lots of smoothies in our house…
But, the beauty of the Vitamix is that you can make pretty much anything with the high-powered blender, including nut butters, flours and savory recipes.
Here are some of my favorite savory Vitamix recipes: my favorite salsa, spinach and artichoke dip, and roasted vegetable soup. (<– all vegan, too!)
Hope you enjoy!
[Read on for the recipes and your chance to win a Vitamix of your own!]
My favorite salsa
This salsa is amazing for parties and tastes just like the restaurant version. It makes quite a bit, so store in jars in the fridge or gift some to friends and family with a bag of your favorite chips.
- Prep Time: 10
- Total Time: 10
Ingredients
- 28 oz can of whole, peeled tomatoes, drained
- 14 oz diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
- Juice of one lime
- 1–2 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (or you can use a fresh jalapeƱo)
- pinch of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 scallions, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup cilantro
Instructions
- In the Vitamix, add the scallions, garlic, chipotle and cilantro. “Pulse” to chop by setting the speed on medium and quickly switching between “on” and “off.”
- Add the remaining ingredients and blend on medium speed until chopped and combined.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary.
- Serve with your favorite chips, or keep on hand for a wonderful omelet, sweet potato or chicken topping.
Spinach and artichoke dip
A savory dip that’s also wonderful as a salad component, spread on sandwiches on with your favorite protein.
- Prep Time: 10
- Cook Time: 5
- Total Time: 15
Ingredients
- 8 oz frozen spinach (or 1 bag of fresh spinach)
- 1/2 sweet onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 jar (6 oz) marinated artichokes
- Juice of one lemon
Instructions
- In a large pan on medium heat, add a little olive oil or butter and sautƩ the garlic and onion until soft and translucent.
- Add the spinach and heat through.
- Transfer the mixture to the Vitamix and add your artichoke hearts and lemon juice.
- Pulse well to combine.
- Serve with crackers as a quick and lovely appetizer, or store in the fridge to enjoy on sandwiches and salads throughout the week.
Roasted Vegetable Soup
A comforting and hearty bowl of soup, best-served with crusty bread and your favorite salad
- Prep Time: 10
- Cook Time: 30
- Total Time: 40
Ingredients
- 5 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 bag (16 oz) of carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 bag (8 oz) of parsnips, peeled and chopped
- 32 oz. chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt, pepper and olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and spray a roasting pan with olive oil or nonstick spray.
- Place the veggies on the baking dish, drizzle olive oil, and season well with salt and pepper.
- Roast for 30 minutes until soft and slightly golden brown.
- Let cool slightly.
- Place the vegetables in the Vitamix along with the container of broth, and blend until your desired consistency. (I like a little texture in mine)
- Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary.
- Transfer to a large pot on the stove and heat through before serving.

Awesome giveaway!
I would whip up a green monster and marvel at the fact the greens would actually be pulverized into silky smooth goodness. My old school blender just can NOT do that! Thanks for hosting such an awesome giveaway, Gina š
Smoothies…almond butter…salsa…dips…yum!
Spinach and artichoke dip..yum!
I would make almond milk first!!
Oh my; gotta love homemade salsa. It’s SOOOOOO much better than the jarred stuff. I’ve been lusting after a VitaMix for several years, and I am certain that the first thing I’d make would be homemade vanilla almond milk. No boxed brand can come close to homemade š
I want to try that spinach artichoke dip!
I have alwasy wanted a Vitamix!!!
I would love a Vitamix to make my own almond butter!!
longtime reader/silent stalker/recipe fiend and Bronco fan! I want that blender!!
I’d make smoothies more than anything, but we love to try to recipes too. We think our current blender isn’t going to last much longer from overuse, so we could definitely use a Vitamix!

I need a Vitamix so I can make green smoothies with lots of veggies in them!
I would love to win the Vitamix. I’ve always wanted to be more consistent on making veggie/ fruit mix juices and January is a great time to start the habit. Pick me please! =)
I would make everything. Smoothies, nut butters, soups, hummus…E V E R Y T H I N G. The blender I have now is an old hand me down from my parents that has no lid and no feasible way to actually clean the blade. I’ve been shredding sponges on it for years.
I would make cinnamon vanilla almond butteeeeer! š
I have seriously always wanted a Vitamix but can’t afford one!
I would make that almond butter, almond milk & that salsa! Fresh salsa is so much better than the premade stuff.
I want to try that spinach artichoke dip!
I love this giveaway! I want a Vitamix for super-smooth smoothies. I’m tired of tiny spinach pieces in my morning smoothie!
I totally just broke the cheaper blender that my husband bought me 2months ago. I don’t think it’s ever good for an appliance to smoke…
I think first I would test out some smoothie recipes because you just can’t go wrong with a smoothie and I’ve been drinking a lot of them lately!
Smoothies!
I would make almond butter! Yum!
Making the spinach artichoke dip now!
