Sometimes
Hey guys! How are ya? Hope you’ve had a wonderful day so far. Thanks for the awesome feedback on the Reader’s Request post– I loved hearing about your fave healthier drinks.
Sometimes….
I use a salad beast as a means to consume a ridiculous amount of dressing
Instead of making a real pizza crust, I use pita
An egg is the perfect topping
Unless you’re the pilot….
In which case, meats, cheese + stuffed crust will do 😉
Sometimes…
Bella transports her food and eats it off the leg of the pilot’s flight suit, which hangs on the staircase from the second he gets home
I eat dessert, not because I’m hungry, but because it tastes really good
Always…
You have to do always what’s best for you.. even if it’s difficult, sad, or if it means packing up your life and moving somewhere the next time your husband will be gone for a while. (More info on that within the next couple of weeks)
I’ve off to make macaroons and marinara, then train clients <3
See ya after bootcamp!
xoxo,
Gina
Mmm loving your egg pizza. Do they still make stuffed crust at Pizza Hut!? Haha, that’s awesome! Hope your transition goes smoothly, doing what’s right for you will make it all worth while in the end. <3
Love this post! Sorry to hear the pilot is leaving again. I now feel like somewhat of a wimp lol. I’ve been having trouble dealing with my relationship going back to emails with my guy leaving for another 5 weeks after only having been home for three weeks from a previous month deployment. The here a month gone a month thing seems so paltry to having to deal with your hubby being gone for months on end or a year.
My husband and I also have different views on good pizza. I like mine homemade on a pita or flatbread. Thin crust brick oven is my fave if I get it at a restaurant. He’s a greasy fast food pizza guy (papa johns is his go to)
good luck with everything!
Great post and I just wanted to say how much I love your blog, and reading your posts. 🙂 I agree with other commenters that you are inspirational as well. Have a great day! 🙂
Even though this post is so simple, (and this may sound super corny) but I honestly got goosebumps (and maybe a little teary-eyed) when I read this part:
“Always…
You have to do always what’s best for you”
i love it and out of all the blogs I read, yours is my absolute favorite!!
thank you <3 so true though! if you don't look out for YOU, who will??
exactly! *virtual hugs* haha 🙂
It’s funny that sometimes the choice that is best for you isn’t always the easiest choice. It’s awesome that you’re following your heart and doing what you need to do, even if it’s tough. Good luck Gina! 🙂
Sometimes [often!] I use a salad beast as an excuse to eat a ridiculous amount of vegetables. Definitely not a bad thing!
I wish you the best of luck on your temporary move.
Being married to the military is hard. I know you will post more, but I’m getting the feeling a deployment is coming up. My husband leaves in the fall (he just got back last fall BLEH!) and I’m moving back home. Not because I can’t handle it, I just hate being so far from home and being “alone”. Having friends around is great, but having family around is even better! I’m thinking of you and hoping for the best!
Only you know what’s best for you.
I hope we can do a bloggie meetup if you move home to Tucson. I live in Phoenix, but would love to get together sometime.
Take care of yourself. 😉
i’m sad to hear that you will be seperated from your love soon.. nothing is tougher than that but i hope where you’re going you will be surrounded by a million people who love you to help ease your sadness.
I love your blog so much!!
🙁 Empathetic moping at the Pilot’s imminent departure.
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I actually recently bought Baby Boot Camp in Tucson. I am in the process of (hopefully) getting classes on base and may need another instructor. I also teach off base classes too around Tucson. Just, if you are interested. I also have quite a few connections to gyms, other fitness peeps, etc… email me!
I love that you always try to stay positive! I can’t wait to hear news about the move! Know that we’re here rooting you on! 🙂
Hi!
When you were on South Beach how much did you loose on the First Phase?
Gracias 😉
I can’t tell you how inspirational I find your blog! The fabulous photos you post of your meals are the icing on the cake for me. I’ve only been reading for a week now, but I’ve incorporated many of your ideas into my diet and plan to keep going. Already, I feel better. So glad I’ve found you!!!
I’m sending lots of hugs to you Gina! You are such a strong woman. You’ve been through so much with and without the pilot by your side. Everything will be alright.
im so sorry Gina 🙁 You are such an amazing, strong person. Everything happens for a purpose girl, and I know everything will be okay 🙂 We are here for you!
I love making “pita pizzas.”
The best decision I ever made was to return home when my hubby deployed for a year. I don’t know if I could have survived it as well as I did if it weren’t for my family being so close. Knowing you’re safe and sound and happier (wherever you end up) will also relieve some stress for Pilot. Follow your heart and everything else will fall into place. Best of luck and sending wishes for a deployment that passes quickly.
Be proud of yourself Gina…you are very strong!
LOL, pilot is just like my hubby. I get veggie pizza, he gets ALL MEAT! Sigh. Your egg pizzas look delish, though!
Jenn
I know you’ll make the right decision, just follow your heart. Prayin’ for ya.
Hi Gina-
I posted a few weeks ago about my dad flying A-10s. You and your pilot are so inspirational. Being in the military is such a tough lifestyle, but the work you guys (I consider military families in this as well) do is invaluable to our country. I just wanted to say that your blog brings a lot of light and joy to us out here trying to make healthy living decisions every day.
Thank you for all you do! 🙂 Hang in there!
Yum Yum
Dessert is always necessary! It doesn’t matter if you are hungry or not!
Love your blog and getting to know you throught it. Hope all of your transitions go smoothly and thanks for blogging. You are a inspiration. 🙂
My lovely better half will be heading out the door again soon…I feel your pain!
Hey Gina, I was wondering what you put in your icecream this time, is it banana?? it looks great!
being with militairy men or a navy man is being the same as being a soccers wife I think, it means having to keep on moving. My bf and I are experiencing difficulties as well, we want to live together but its nearly impossible for him to transfer to another country being a sergeant, and I have my studies here 🙁
Gina, this comment is a little late, but I think we forget to stop and salute and pray for our military spouses and families, who serve as the foundations for our fighting men and women.
I am a big time supporter of our troops, and without families like you at home to fight the brave fight, our forces wouldn’t be at the quality that they are. Our country would not be as safe.
I don’t comment all the time, I prefer to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your pics, recipes, humor and wisdom. But God Bless you and the Pilot. Your bravery, loyalty, love and sacrifice are both admirable and inspirational. xoxo
thank you <3
my bf is leaving me for 3 months starting 2 weeks so he can finish med school at different hospitals..I’m so scared!! Although he’s only gone for 3 months and I can visit him, I can’t imagine what you go through! You have to be do what is best for your mental health..and what everyone needs is SOCIAL SUPPORT. best of luck chicka!
