10 Days of Giveaways: Day 5 (Gymboss)

Last giveaway of week 1! This one is a product I’ve used for a few years now: Gymboss.

10daysofgiveaways

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of HIIT training and interval-style workouts. I like to time different segments as it’s a great way to change things up and really challenge myself. (Like when I increased the HIIT time from 30-40 seconds hard the other day— it killed me in the best way possible.) I have a timer app on my phone, which is fine to use at home, but when I’m at the gym, guess where my phone is? In a locker. When I go to the gym, I have a small amount of time to get in and get out, and I like to do it without the distraction of a phone. If I have it, I’m much more tempted to check my email, see what people are saying on Twitter, aka waste time.

Gymboss timer to the rescue:

Gymboss

It’s extremely user-friendly, and has a few sound settings. My favorite is to clip it on my shirt and set it on vibrate, so it doesn’t distract other gym-goers. I’ve also used it while teaching classes, especially since the resort is cell phone free and it looks more professional to use an actual timer. It’s one of my favorite workout tools, especially because it’s so inexpensive, and it makes a perfect stocking stuffer for a fitness-loving friend. They recently released some cool new colors, too!

Gymboss2

My friends at Gymboss kindly offered five interval timers– one each to five lucky winners. It’s a great little workout buddy ๐Ÿ˜‰

  38. Christine on December 6, 2013 at 6:18 pm

I recently got over my fear of working out in a gym and joined a nearby gym. I was scared to death when I first went, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. A timer would be great for a newby like me! So far my favorite kind of cardio is the elliptical, but I am hoping to branch out as I get more comfortable at the gym.

  39. Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine on December 6, 2013 at 6:19 pm

30min HIIT Sessions on the bike!

  40. Christina on December 6, 2013 at 6:20 pm

oooh I’ve been drooling over these for awhile but haven’t bit the bullet and bought one- my phone has been a decent substitute. My all time favorite form of cardio is running but I have been incorporating tabata blasts into my strength routines lately (mostly from tabata thursday videos!) for an extra cardio blast and I love it. This would be perfect!

  41. Jenn on December 6, 2013 at 6:21 pm

I like any dance fitness classes ๐Ÿ™‚ The treadmill is my second choice.

  42. Missy on December 6, 2013 at 6:21 pm

Love the idea of using a gymboss instead of my phone! I have been trying to figure out a replacement but I don’t care for watches so clipping the gymboss to my shirt would be perfect!

  43. Kelly on December 6, 2013 at 6:21 pm

    Wow. This looks awesome.

  44. Alyssa on December 6, 2013 at 6:22 pm

  47. Lauren S on December 6, 2013 at 6:23 pm

I like to get my cardio in by doing incline walking intervals on the treadmill!

  48. Caroline on December 6, 2013 at 6:24 pm

My favorite form of cardio is the elliptical but I have a treadmill at home so that’s what I use most often! I do lots of intervals to keep myself from getting bored.

  49. Sara Young on December 6, 2013 at 6:25 pm

If I had to chose one type of cardio it would be running.

  50. Lauren on December 6, 2013 at 6:26 pm
