10 Days of Giveaways: Day 5 (Gymboss)

Last giveaway of week 1! This one is a product I’ve used for a few years now: Gymboss.

10daysofgiveaways

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of HIIT training and interval-style workouts. I like to time different segments as it’s a great way to change things up and really challenge myself. (Like when I increased the HIIT time from 30-40 seconds hard the other day— it killed me in the best way possible.) I have a timer app on my phone, which is fine to use at home, but when I’m at the gym, guess where my phone is? In a locker. When I go to the gym, I have a small amount of time to get in and get out, and I like to do it without the distraction of a phone. If I have it, I’m much more tempted to check my email, see what people are saying on Twitter, aka waste time.

Gymboss timer to the rescue:

Gymboss

It’s extremely user-friendly, and has a few sound settings. My favorite is to clip it on my shirt and set it on vibrate, so it doesn’t distract other gym-goers. I’ve also used it while teaching classes, especially since the resort is cell phone free and it looks more professional to use an actual timer. It’s one of my favorite workout tools, especially because it’s so inexpensive, and it makes a perfect stocking stuffer for a fitness-loving friend. They recently released some cool new colors, too!

Gymboss2

My friends at Gymboss kindly offered five interval timers– one each to five lucky winners. It’s a great little workout buddy ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s how to enter:

    I love spinning and zumba.

I (love to) hate quick tabatas for cardio workouts. Steady state never really satisfies my need for an intense workout – but circuits? I’m dripping every. time.

Running! Easy to do wherever you are.

  15. Brittany M on December 7, 2013 at 12:51 am

I love running but the cold weather has forced me indoors and the treadmill is rough on my knees, so I’ve been using the elliptical instead. I’ve been doing more tabata and hiit workouts on here lately and love them. A good timer would make the workouts easier, the one I use on my phone isn’t so great.

I like taking a class for cardio like kickboxing or something along those lines. I get too bored on a machine and can’t motivate myself enough to keep up a good pace running outside.

  29. Carly M on December 7, 2013 at 2:30 am

My favorite ‘lazy’ cardio is hoping on the bike to read my book. Depending on how enthralled I am with my book my actual energy exertion can sometimes be limited…. But if if gets me to the gym it’s a win!

My favorite cardio when I go to the gym and I mean business- interval training -all the way. I’m always pumped after some hard intervals!

  30. Jill w on December 7, 2013 at 2:30 am

  50. Kristen on December 7, 2013 at 7:06 am

I’d love one of these. I like different types of cardio, but in the past couple I years I’ve really gotten into cycling.
