11/15: Friday Faves
-An amazing time at the Stitch Fix headquarters with a lovely group of blogger friends (Jenna, Julie, Kacia aka CocoRo and Raechel). Everything was incredible, from the behind-the-scenes look at how the fixes are styled and shipped, the glorious dinners, to the wonderful low-key night at the house, drinking wine and chatting. It was a blast and I was so honored to have been included. Thank you again to the Stitch Fix team and Cotille for working so hard to make it a magical Stitch Fix holiday adventure. With part two of the recap, I’ll also have a Stitch Fix giveaway, so stay tuned!
-A workout at Equinox in SF. I haven’t worked out much this week, but it felt amazing to get in a short strength and cardio blitz early Thursday morning. 10 minutes rowing, 10 minutes treadmill intervals and 15 minutes of strength (circuit of kettlebell swings, squats, chest presses, deadlifts, upright rows and triceps dips).
-10 true things about the first year of parenthood. I especially love this part: “We live in a culture that equates ease with value — the easier it is, the better it is; if it hurts you, something is wrong. Reality check: sometimes things that are hard and painful are also really, really good.” Sometimes the most challenging things are also the most beautiful and rewarding.
-Trader Joe’s candy cane lane green tea. I anxiously await its arrival all season, and hoard boxes during the off season. Time to stock up! It’s especially lovely seeped in almond milk with a little Stevia.
-Speaking of tea drinks, the holiday tea latte at The Coffee Bean is tooooo diiiieeee forrrr. It’s spiced like a chai, slightly sweet, creamy, and made my heart break out into song. I wish we had these in Tucson!
–How to interact with an introvert. This article describes me to a “T.” Only certain people are allowed in my hamster ball 😉
-Uncle E’s risotto. When we had our fiesta last weekend, Uncle E showed up with a bunch of ingredients and whipped up this incredible truffle risotto. There was some leftover, so we enjoyed it with dinner the next night. I really need him to teach me all of his secrets.
(the tapenade on the salmon is based on an Elena’s Pantry recipe: calavetesrano olives, anchovy and garlic. Looks kinda like cat food, tastes delicious)
-15 reasons college basketball will always be better than the NBA. Special shout out to our favorite band guy doing the Harlem shake in the video. He’s one of my favorites to watch during the U of A games and is just as legendary as you’d imagine.
-As much fun as the past few days have been, I think that getting to hug the Pilot and Oliv is going to be the top fave for the week. I’ve missed them <3
Have a wonderful night and I’ll see ya later!
xoxo

Oh man I don’t comment much but that stitch fix warehouse makes me drool!
right?! it was heavenly!!!!
AH so jealous you were able to visit Stitch Fix! I love love love the company, their personal notes, product, and concept. I have recommended it to so many friends. That is one nice Equinox! Have a beautiful evening… 🙂
thank you, you too!
Looks like such a fun week! Thanks for sharing! I’ll have to give that candy cane tea a try. It looks amazing!
Clearly we have the same taste in teas because I too await the arrival of the candy cane tea (and the vanilla cinnamon one, but I call it the lemur tea because of the pic haha!) but I LOVE coffee bean. I grew up in so cal but live in northern california now and we don’t have them up here either. 🙁 Their tea lattes are heaven!
tea twinsies!
that’s funny because i always notice the lemur first, too. i like that tea but the candy cane >
That candy cane tea is amazing! So glad it’s back…
me too! the best
Visiting Stitch Fix looks like so. much. fun!
I was just giggling b/c while I was at Trader Joe’s, I came across the Fruit Crusher pouches that you’ve mentioned before and picked some up to take to (medical) school with me (I’m 27). As I was taking them out of the box, I noticed this warning on the back of each pouch: “Always make sure a responsible person is present when your child is eating.” Guess they were meant for little kids lol 🙂
hahah! they’re good though, huh?!
Stitch fix headquarters sound like such a fun time. That candycane tea really is amazing. ‘Tis the season. I’m putting out Christmas lights right this very second. 🙂
Sounds like you ladies had an awesome time — what a cool experience! Have a great weekend!
Oh god I need that tea!
Ha, I bought 7 boxes of the vanilla cinnamon tea this week! I was kind and left a few on the shelf. I’ll have to try the candy cane tea the next time I head in there. I love Trader Joe’s November through Christmas.
I love love love the article how to “interact with an introvert ” that’s me to a T too! 🙂
Wow what an amazing opportunity this was for you all!! Awesome!! Hope you had a blast!
The stich fix warehouse looks AMAZING!!!!! Did they check your bags when you left?
LOVE that trader joe’s tea! My only wish was that it was caffeinated. 😉
I love the quote you pulled about our society thinking things that are easy are best. I deal daily with high school students (and parents) that think struggling to understand something is wrong and evil and something must be terrible amiss if they don’t understand it clearly and immediately. Let it marinate, people.
I also loved the introvert graphic. It was totally cute and also described me very well.
Hope you have a great weekend!
I’m with ya sister, I loooooove college basketball( Go Billikens!). So much more heart and soul in the game.
You love Candy Cane Lane???
That is my all time favorite tea. I typically buy it at Christmas time and stock up for the year and get lots of eye rolls from my friends haha.
But, it’s the best
definitely! it’s my second fave, next to tulsi sweet rose 🙂
Your stitch fix trip looks like it was such a blast! Ha ha I love the giant box monster!
ANNNNND so excited to see that TJ’s has candy can green tea!! Oh my gosh I found some candy cane green tea years ago made by Celestial teas but they never brought it back in subsequent years! (Or at least I couldn’t find it.) Going grocery shopping this weekend, that will so very much be in our basket! 🙂
100% agree with “how to interact with an introvert”. The hardest part is when extroverts don’t get it and think you’re being boring. Even harder when you’re married to an extrovert…but, he helps pull me out of my bubble, otherwise I’d probably never go out haha
love those quick + sweaty workouts–they’re always the most fun!
Candy Cane Green Tea?!? That sounds awesome! I can’t wait until Trader Joe’s finally opens next year in Colorado! I’ve been waiting for so long!
Favorite tea all year! Time to stock up!
Love love love the introvert info graphic!! That is sooo me.. I just sent it to several friends/family members who have trouble understanding me sometimes!! Thank you!!
Looking forward to the giveaway!! Happy weekend to you 🙂
Candy cane tea! in dark chocolate almond milk. Oh. Man.
this is why we’re friends 😉
You were in SF!! Ahhhhh!!
