Something to talk about:Whatโs your #1 necessary smoothie ingredient? For me, itโs a tie between Sun Warrior protein powder and banana. If it doesnโt have one of the two, itโs not a smoothie to me ๐
Blogworld=crazy creative.
Lovely smoothie recipes….but where’s mine? ๐
when did you send it to me?? send it again and i’ll add it in!!!
Wow those are some awesome recipes.
My number one smoothie ingredient has to be bananas. I tried making one yesterday without one because I was out, and sadly, it was definitely missing something.
So many great smoothie ideas here! Mine #1 ingredient is a FROZEN banana!
Bananas are the best b/c then you don’t need to add sugar!
Wow! The chocolate mint looks to die for! My main ingredient would be bananas, i feel like every smoothie I’ve ever had has bananas in it!
Girl thanks for putting together all those awesome smoothie recipes!!!! I love smoothies and lately the main ingredient of them has been loads of berries, it is time to switch it up ๐

Holy Cow these look awesome! I will have to try the Sunshine, Cherries Jubilee and Basil smoothies ASAP! Great post!! ๐
I hope people enjoy my Elvis smoothie! ๐
Yum!!! So many great recipe ideas for smoothies– definitely bookmarking this post!
All of my smoothies seem to somehow have at their base almond milk and a banana, so those are definitely TWO number one ingredients for me ๐
This is such a great resource. OK, next time I make a smoothie I’m coming here and picking one of these. I think I need to start with the Creamy Sweet Basil smoothie. I love the addition of basil. Genius, Lynna.
Thanks for posting my recipe! Lots of great ideas!
I am just catching up and saw your brown rice burger mishap, bummer:( There is a great recipe on The Kitchn website. I made them last week and they were amazing (though a bit messy to make) and posted my modifications.
WOW so many amazing recipes!!! Thanks for the shout-out too.
I need to try this sun warrior protein powder. I have been hearing such great things about it.

These are all great recipes- thanks!
At first I thought you were going to say that garlic was your necessary smoothie ingredient lol. Mine would be protein powder (Jay Robb to be specific ๐ )
hahah i love garlic, but not quite like that ๐
Great ingredient ideas! Coconut! Oats! Coffee! Mint!
I just made a pear, blueberry, spinach, coconut smoothie! Yum!
Banana is great for the texture. Avocado serves the same way.
omg that basil smoothie sounds SO DELICIOUS!
Flax seeds are my number one ingredient! They add a great nutty taste!
What a collection of smoothies! ๐
These are great ideas!!! I will have to try the mint for sure! I am intruiged by the basil smoothie…I may have to try it. Banana is definitely my must-have smoothie ingredient.
Where can I get Sun Warrior?
I get my Sun Warrior from iHerb.com. They offer free shipping on orders over $40, and if you’re a new customer you can use promo code MIG017 for $5 off your first order! They were quick and had the best prices I could find!
good to know!
i get mine from amazon.. the price is pretty good and i usually manage to find some more things to put in my shopping cart ๐
Thanks Megan for the promo code…I just ordered some Sun Warrior!
i hope you love it! i think you will ๐
I always have to have a banana in my smoothie. It gives the perfect amount of sweetness
YAY I’m so excited to try all of these! My must-have ingredient is also a tie, and it’s between protein powder (currently LOVING Whey Gourmet Peanut Butter Chocolate!) and a frozen banana. Thanks so much for the shout-out!
#1 would HAVE to be kombucha!!
im really surprised that there wasnt any in these recipes. makes the best smoothies in the world. i think bananas and ginger would tie for second.
i have never heard of adding kombucha to a smoothie! i totally need to try it ๐
Thanks for the new ideas! That chocolate-mint one looks right up my alley!
My must-have ingredients for smoothies is greens! I put greens (usually spinach) in every smoothie I make! Sun Warrior and frozen bananas are a close second, though! I usually start off with all three of those as my base, and go from there. ๐
BANANAAAAAAAAA! I AM BANANAS FOR BANANAS.
Love all of these creations! Thanks for collecting and sharing Gina!
I’ve tried the Sunshine in a Glass juice, let me say as a pregnant woman I like to call it “Heartburn in a Glass”!
Tasty, but it will have to wait a few more weeks for me to enjoy it.
Love all these recipes. I had never thought of using coffee. Love it.
wow, so many good ideas! i loved this post.
My number one smoothie ingredient is definitely a banana!
Those were some great recipes, thanks for getting them all together in one place. I see some I want to try…
I dislike bananas like kindergartners dislike naps. Great to see some recipes that are banana-free! Thanks, y’all.
Bananas!!! Especially the supah ripe ones. They really sweeten up the smoothie without adding extra sweeteners. That mint chocolate smoothie looks AMAZING
Ooh, that mint one looks really good!
As for my #1 necessary smoothie ingredient? A banana. Just doesn’t taste right without one!
WOW – thanks for the awesome smoothie round-up. I’ve never made one. yes – it’s true! this post gave me inspiration – and my husband LOVES them so maybe i’ll start making them for him!!
Coffee + chocolate protein powder = genius!

Great idea for a blog post! I def want to try a few.

Mmmmmm….
I need bananas in my smoothie!!
xo
K
thanks for posting my smoothie! like mostly everyone else, my favorite smoothie ingredient is frozen bananas BUT frozen avocado is a close second– not so much for flavor but it adds a great smoothness and creaminess to the texture!
My wife has short term memory issues, so my research identified Spinach, Blueberries and Branch Chain Amino Acids (found in some protein drinks) as being beneficial ingredients. So we fire up the blender and include these ingredients in our breakfast smoothie!
Hi Gina – have you ever tried Jay Robb brown rice protein powder? I bought some after hearing so many rave reviews but it’s very chalky when blended into a smoothie. Do you have this problem with Sun Warrior?
YUM! All the smoothies look amazing.
heaven = 1 cup cold papaya cubes,1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 cup old fashioned oats, 1 teaspoon PB
