Baby Lust List

Baby shopping is FUN.

I never thought Iโ€™d enjoy shopping even more than I already did, but it finally happened ๐Ÿ˜€ Ever since we found out little nugget is a he-nugget last week, itโ€™s been such a blasty to meander around baby stores and websites to get ideas for our registry. Weโ€™re not going to register until after my 20-week ultrasound (so that weโ€™re 100% sure itโ€™s a boy!), but thatโ€™s not to say I donโ€™t have a โ€œfavoritesโ€ list of links ready to go ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here are some of the things I absolutely adore:

1) Moby wrap in organic cotton

image

2) Snuza

You clip it to the babyโ€™s diaper and it detects movement and breathing. It will sound an alarm if movement stops, which I think *might* keep me from checking if the baby is breathing every 5 seconds during the night.

image

3) aden + anais organic muslin swaddling blankets

image

4) Boppy newborn lounger

(I want one in my size!! That looks so comfy)

image

5) Glamourmom Nursing tank

image

I wonโ€™t register for these โ€“just pick them up since theyโ€™re technically for me- but Iโ€™m so happy they actually look like NORMAL tank tops.

6) Mini Convertible Co-sleeper

image

I really love the idea of co-sleeping, but am horrified that Iโ€™ll roll over and crush the baby. This is perfect because weโ€™ll be able to have it right next to the bed, so the baby is close by, without actually being in bed with us.

7) Organic hooded towel

image

Once again, can I get one in my size? Haha.

8) Emily Baby Bag

image

I love that it looks like a regular purse, since Iโ€™ll be carrying it everywhere with me. The Pilot already got a link for this one ๐Ÿ˜‰

What Iโ€™ve picked up already:

-Quite a few baby outfits: a mixture of classic, organic and unique

outfits

(I got that today!!! How cute for farmerโ€™s market Sunday?!)

An Ergo baby carrier

image

This one was on Babysteals.com last week โ€“if youโ€™re not on the email list and are expecting, or have a little one, sign up ASAP- and since Iโ€™d like to have 2 Ergos (one stylish one to wear with dresses or cute outfits, one for adventures: farmerโ€™s market, Disneyland, Sabino Canyon), so I nabbed up this one for $77 instead of full price through BabySteals. I figured it would be perfect for an adventure Ergo ๐Ÿ™‚

A lot of the above is fun stuff that Iโ€™ll use all of the time, but I definitely need to do more research on the bare necessities like cloth diapers, bottles โ€“weโ€™ll probably use glass, baby care products and furniture.

Ha! My friend wanted the baby pillow also, she ended up finding an identical one in the pet store!!! I was cracking up! She bought a dog bed, it’s actually a little bit bigger than the one you have pictured which she ended up liking better. The baby was able to roll around and still stay on the “pillow” ๐Ÿ™‚

      omg that’s awesome!

My very favorite baby product of all time (and out of all three kids) was the Moby. I only had it with the 3rd baby and I wish I had it for all of them. I didn’t have an Ergo. I am definitely into “wearing” babies.

I loove my ring sling from zolowear and I get compliments on it all the time, ups my style a hundredfold, and no one looked at my tummy in those early weeks, all eyes on baby. And nursing in public while perusing the sale racks or eating dinner, no one had a clue they were next to functioning boobies ๐Ÿ™‚

Also high on my list: “nose frida” snot sucker that gets the goods way better than the suction bulb

Gina ~ I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and LOVE LOVE LOVE the aiden and anais swaddle blankets, especially for our climate in Tucson…. and the moby wrap is super comfy. Congratulations!!

Hehe, I think I should just take up the task of making those hooded towels for adults… I know enough people by now who want them and I surprisingly image myself owning one very often…
I loooove the stuff you’ve picked so far! The hubby and I have decided not to have any kiddies of our own But that doesn’t mean I don’t LOVE to look at baby stuff! I figured I’ll be the aunt who super dotes on my sister’s and friends kids!

We got the Aden & Anais bamboo blankets (this pattern: http://www.adenandanais.com/shop/itemdisplay.aspx?ID=167&SKU=9201) as a gift before our daughter came last year, and they are AMAZING! I actually rarely used them for swaddling, because the swaddle sacks were easier, but the light softness of these blankets is seriously life changing. They are my daughter’s favorites… she drags them all over the house and sleeps with them at night. Highly recommend!!

The Ergo is also the bomb ๐Ÿ™‚

Definitely get the Moby. My guy is almost one and is up to 22 pounds and I can still carry him around in the Moby with no problem. The carriers are less comfortable for me now that he’s bigger. Plus, with the Moby you can do lots of different carries! I can’t say enough how much I love that thing.

On the diaper front… when Graham was wee little plain old flat folds done in the origami fold were the best. Puts lots of absorbing power up front where it’s needed. Personally, I don’t put a cover and pants on him unless we’re leaving the house, so a pinned diaper works for us… But, be prepared, a newborn boy is capable of peeing into his own eye with his diaper on. Especially those disposable swaddlers from the hospital.

Hi Gina! I absolutely love your blog. You’ve inspired me so much in the past few months to get out and get in better shape. I’ve joined a gym (for the first time!) and have even encouraged my boyfriend to eat better and live a healthier lifestyle.
I work at a baby boutique in West Hollywood, and would love to send the little one a gift. Would that be possible? It would just mean so much to me to be able to give something back!

    Thanks again!

Funny story, my sister had one of the baby monitors that tracks breathing/heartbeat and sounds an alarm if it doesn’t detect it. Well, my older nephew heard the baby on a Saturday morning, and to be a nice kid, he took her into the other room so his parents could sleep a little longer. BUT he forgot to turn off the monitor and it went off, waking up the whole house! Oh man, my sister just about had a heart attack!! At least they knew it worked ๐Ÿ™‚

Check out http://www.greenbabybargains.com, too! I think you’ll like it. Zulily, Baby Half Off… there are a ton of the baby deal of the day sites.

For your 2nd Ergo, you should totally get the Performance one, especially because of the weather where you are. It’s lighter weight, trimmer, etc.

I love our Goodmama diapers. They $$$, but are awesome. No leaks, easy to put on and I’ve definitely already gotten my money’s worth having used them with 2 kids.

Happy registering and shopping :o) It’s so fun!

      ohh thanks for the tips!

That locally produced one is the best! I saw one once with a pirate that said, “Eat yar veggies”. The only time I’ve been interested in a baby is when I see the clothes!

I absolutely loved my Moby, seriously. It was the perfect carrier! Glamourmom’s nursing tanks were the cutest and most comfortable!

I, too, always said I’d never sleep with the babies in my bed for fear of smooshing them but sometimes, I would fall asleep nursing and wake up to find a baby still attached to my boob. LOL I don’t co-sleep but I do let Avery (just like with her brother) sleep in my bed sometimes for about an hour or two when she wakes up for an early morning feeding. Don’t worry if it happens, you will be SO hyper-aware of the baby in the bed that you won’t be able to sleep fully anyway for a while! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am commenting on this late because I was on vacay and just catching up on my blog reading now:) LOVE the Ergo and Aden and Anais….both are MUST HAVES. Check out the BOB Revolution stroller. It is amazing..we bought a carseat stroller combo, but never used it b/c the Revolution is so amazing. I am a runner, but even if I wasn’t I would want this stroller. It is awesome to go off roading and on the beach and in the snow and slush (although I know you won’t be getting much of the cold stuff in Arizona!). I got the BOB Duallie this year when I had my second daughter which is also amazing…and I still use my (single) BOB all the time. Obsessed! Love your blog!!!! You look wonderful!

  17. Suzanne on July 27, 2011 at 8:46 am

I used the Ergo Carriers and they are brilliant! Because we live out in the countryside (england), where there are no footpaths, the Ergo was perfect (I hardly used my pushchair). We used to walk the dog and I carried my daughter in it right up until she was 3 and a half!

She’s 5 now and way too heavy! ๐Ÿ™

FYI….Just saw Walgreens.com has the Moby Wrap on sale right now for $29 with Free Shipping!! Thought you’d like to know… =0)

Hey Gina! I’m a huge fan of your blog but I’ve never commented before. However, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share these with you: http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/pee-pee-teepees
Aren’t they adorable? I always want to get these for boy baby showers and I thought of them after reading this post. You should get some!
I’m so excited for you, the pilot, and your new little one (and Bella too of course).

Hey Gina, re: the large pillow for you, go check Sumolounge.com, they specialize in adult-sized bean bags, you might find one that you like in there. Not that I would have ever gotten one for myself or anything ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Congrats, again!

The Jeunice bras are seriously amazing! My friend who is nursing LOVES it, for the easy clip in front, and My sisters and I LOVE them. They are pricey, but it seriously the best investment ever. It has made a huge difference in pictures, and everything. Super slimming as well. Lasts forever. Im not usually big on advertising, but this one I LOVE. Lasts, and has great shape.
