Pre-packing partay
Hi friends! How are you?? Hope youโve had a great weekend <3
So we move tomorrow and guess how much weโve packed?
Hardly anything. You know how we roll ๐
If you wait until the last minuteโฆ it only takes a minute.
We did manage to get into some shenanigans last night:
Cameron was doing the Michael Jackson thang at Level, so we met up with some friends to hang out and watch his show.
It was quite festive- the club had a ton of MJ-esque props set out: hats, sunglasses, white gloves and sparkly microphones. It got even better when my friend Charlie rubbed the microphone on his face which left it entirely covered in glitter — we joked that he was so twilight. Yes, I was the DD ๐ It was kind of different/nice to go to Level without having a sip of alcoholโฆ I got to watch the shenanigans from a different perspective and just danced a lot ๐
It was a very fun way to spend an evening before we spend the next week packing, moving and unpacking ๐
Breakfast:
Perfect Protein Pancakes with a sauce made of 1 T almond butter, 1/2 scoop Sun Warrior, and about 1/8 C almond milk, heated up in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then mixed up with cinnamon.
Perfect packing fuel ๐
Here we go! Iโll see ya in a few hours with a family post [it will be a nice break] and then weโre doing our final walk through with our realtor.
I hope the sellers left the Buddha statueโฆ.
See ya soon!
xoxo

Whatโs a good gift idea for a realtor? Ours worked extremely hard for a few months getting everything together for this short sale โshe was pretty much amazing. Iโd like to get her something to say thank you but have no idea what. Any ideas?
Something to do:
Sunday Ab Burner!!
-50 sit-ups
-25 stiff leg pull over crunches
–Side plank with twist (12 on the left)
–Up down plank (15)
-Side plank with a twist (12 on the right)
Roons!!!
they take 2 days to make :/
You should give your realtor something from your old apartment that you wont be using in your new house– That would have some sentimental meaning ๐
Perhaps a basket full of some yummy goodies- a bottle of wine, some of your favourite food items, etc? Or perhaps a wallet/card case etc?
oohhh a basket would be cute!
Happy Sunday to you guys!
Last couple times I moved, I packed the day before practically, I think because I despise packing so much, lol, thats why I always do it last minute! I hope the Buddha stays too! Its awesome!
Hm I would say a generous gift card would be nice, those are always good, if you know a place where that person likes to go!
xoxo <3
I’m SO excited about your new house! Considering it looks like they weren’t even using the Buddha statue (and it looks heavy!), I have my fingers crossed that they left it for you.
Hmm… I’ve never had to get a realtor gift, but maybe just a nice thank you card with a gift card for somewhere? That’s always my go-to gift when I’m not sure what to get someone. You could always just make her some of your fantastic macaroons too!! ๐
PS. The Pilot is rocking that MJ hat. lol.
What about sort of a reverse-housewarming gift basket? Instead of receiving it, you could give it – things that make a home cozy. Maybe a pretty candle, some incense and a nice burner, fresh flowers, a package of comforting tea or bubble bath, etc. All stuff that’s easy to get at someplace like World Market. Just put it in a cute bag or basket, and voila!
My mom is a realtor and I think the gift she gets most often is a gift card. I know some people are anti-gift card giving, but it is one of the easier options and it also allows the person to pick something that they actually want.
My mother in law is a realtor; I second the gift card idea!
I think I might do that ab burner right now before my run!!
We got our realtor a gift card to a local restaurant I think (and he gave us a super cute mini tool kit and champagne) – congrats on the house!
What about a spa gift card? So few people actually spend the $ to pamper themselves, and in such a stressful job, she probably needs a massage/facial, etc. A nice bottle of wine is always appropriate (assuming she drinks wine?) too.
I would second this idea! Something like a gift card/certificate to a restaurant or spa so she can take some relaxation time for herself. My boyfriend’s father is a realtor and it is WAY more time consuming than I ever realized, especially if someone is dedicated and goes the extra mile to help out clients. He is always, always working and “on call” so forcing him to relax by going out is a great idea. Or something semi boring but super helpful is a gas card – they drive all over!
Congratulations on your new home ๐ I think a gift basket would be nice. Everyone loves a basket of goodies ๐
I agree with the basket idea, I usually theme it so it has everything for a dinner!
awesome night! good luck with your packing ๐ hope they left the buddha statue, it’s beautiful! xyx
Whoooo congratulations! Moving is always stressful but very fun and exciting too. A good moving gift for a realtor… maybe a bottle of wine or a gift card somewhere?
oh lordy good luck packing haha I don’t look forward to my next move, well i do because it will be in a house, but it sure is a lot of work. But at least you can get settled there and stay!
Good luck with the packing! I’ve never thought to get the realtor something, usually it’s the other way around, them thanking you for putting a nice amount of $ in their pocket! haha
That was my thought.
But in general I’ve taken to using gift cards after asking teachers and coaches’ wives and such over the years, and being a recipient. Not everyone likes candy, wine, soaps, candles, etc. and some get so much of it, especially teachers.
Last time! I’m hesitant to give booze to anyone I don’t know well enough to know what they drink. Some people don’t drink at all and then it’s sort of an anti-gift.
I thought the same thing! Our realtor gave us a gift!
ours gave us one, too, but i still want to give her at least a little something to thank her.
The ab burner was awesome! I made my fiance do it too. Thanks for posting it! <3
We’re moving this Friday and we still have so much to be packed too! It’s ridiculous how much stuff we have.
I think a good gift would be a Starbucks gift card. Everyone loves Starbucks!
Now that I FINALLY have my own Sun Warrior, I’m super excited to make a batch of your protein pancakes. I may just have to try them out tomorrow morning. YUM!
What if you made up a little “movie night” basket? I did this for a friend before…a movie theater gift card (or a gift card to rent movies) a couple things of popcorn, her favorite candies, and a couple beverages. It was pretty fun. ๐
Through Wine Shop at Home (wineshopathome.com) you can get a nice bottle of wine with a personalized label — you could take a picture of your new house and put the image on the bottle with a big “Thank you!” or something like that. It makes a yummy gift a little more personal, one of my fave things to gift.
I’d go with a restaurant gift card or a bottle of wine. Such a nice thought! ๐
I always love love giving gift baskets as gifts. One with a nice bottle of wine with some goodies in it like chocolates, cheese and crackers, jams, would be wonderful…I think she’d really appreciate it and get enjoyment out of it too! ๐
Btw, what a fun night! Love me some MJ and those pancakes look delish! Good luck on the move! And I love the “wait til the last minute, and it’ll only take a minute” So true, must be why I like to procrastinate a lot, ha! ๐
I think flowers would be wonderful. Most of us never get enough flowers. You can also make a lil garden basket w/ your favorite seeds, gloves etc. Happy N-E-W house :O)
Homedepot gift card?
those pancakes…..jfkla;sfjks;afjaks;fjsk;….i might have tried to bite the computer screen
Maybe a massage gift cert?
Thanks for the workout and good luck packing!!!!!
I would say a basket of goodies – a bottle of wine, homemade cookies, flowers – whatever ๐
You look adorable in the MJ hat!! What about a Harry & David gift basket for your realator? (I just know I LOVE receiving those!)
As a Realtor, the best gift I could receive after a closing is…BOOZE. I’m not even kidding. When I’m busy, I become a drunk. Honestly though, a thank you note would be enough for me. The paycheck is my reward for my hard work, but knowing I’m appreciated by my clients is always nice. Anything you do above and beyond a thank you note would just be icing on the cake!
I would go with a gift certificate to that favorite restaurant of yours!
Maybe some nice chocolates or a key chain? The key chain because she is always handing over the keys to houses to her clients LOL! Okay that was cheesy but it could work!
That almond butter sauce looks delish!!!
packing is over rated, plus you guys are pros by now. haha.
I think a nice gift card to a nice restaurant. He worked hard and now can sit down and have a delicious meal with his sig other. I do not know if this is cheezy or not but my friend had a plaque made to hang in his office. Congrats on the new house.
How about inviting them over to dinner at your new house!!
I’m a fan of the gift basket and/or wine and a visa gift card (that way they can use it wherever they want). Congratulations on moving day!!!
Good luck with your move- hope it goes smoothly!
Hehe, I can always expect you to stir protein powder into just about everything ๐
My mother has been a realtor for almost thirty years now, and she appreciates any gift her clients give her. Generally, people give gift cards (in differing amounts related to how much the house sold for/the clients’ income) or the usual food/wine/flowers. We live in an area with a lot of Asian people, so we have received bamboo plants (in large vases) as well. Those are fun, but can be a hassle if your agent hasn’t taken care of one before! Also, Chinese people tend to be more open about money, and some of my mom’s clients just give her a red envelope with some cash as a parting gift. My mom always sends or brings over a gift for the housewarming, so it’s not really an issue of payment, but just thoughtful appreciation. I’m sure your realtor will appreciate any gift from you ๐
Good question, can you compile the answers? My house (selling via short sale..ugh divorce) is in escrow finally and I wanted to thank my realtor and his team for all of their hard work over the last 15 months it has been on the market. Be still my heart, please close at the end of August like scheduled (this is the final nail in my divorce, so ready).
Ugh packing is no bueno! I’m right there with you guys! Loving that ab burner–I will have to mark it down for a workout this week! ๐
That’s so thoughtful of you to want to buy your realtor a gift…she is getting a gift from you. Well from the sellers’ and their bank, a nice commission check…hah! No seriously, you are so thoughtful! I would just get her a gift certificate or a gift card to the local mall. That way she can go to any of like 100 stores and have some fun ๐ Or your homemade food/desserts. THEY will be more cherished than anything.
Good luck with packing. We JUST did it. Like 2 weeks ago. Just moved in 10 days ago. It will be so worth it once it’s all over. We had no notice either. Woke up one day and 13 days later we were moved into our new house. Insanely crazy 2 weeks!
That ab burner is no joke! When I started I thought I’d do it a few times through but after the first round my muscles were screaming! I’m taking this to the gym with me! Thanks :o)
It looks like you had an awesome night! I think the best realtor gift would be some macaroons. I don’t know any one who would not be happy to get their paws on some of them
Haha I’m a last minute packer too. I hate packing so I figure the more time I put it off, the less time I actually have to spend doing it. ๐ Hope you get it all done today!
Hope you got a lot accomplished today! ๐
I did your ab workout – I’m a sweaty happy mess! ๐ Holy planks!! I had to remind myself to breathe, my first reaction is to stop breathing altogether lol!!! AHH!
glad you reminded yourself to breathe! ๐ also glad you enjoyed the workout <3
Do people actually get their realtor a gift?!? I wondered about this when I bought my place, but the few people I asked said no…and that, if anything, the realtor should be giving ME a house-warming/thank you gift for giving her a nice commission. I never know the “rules” to these random life things.
Oh My! I love the MJ party. My Nana taught me how to moon walk, No Joke! Best of luck with the move! We’ve got a month before our big day! Our realtor is getting a taste of my hunnie’s delectable meat marinade (and a meal) and new running buddy (me.. hehe)!
Fitnessista!!
1) Congrats on the new house. Can’t wait to see how you nest.
2) Congrats on the little Pilot! I read your blog for the health/fitness aspect but I have also loved hearing about your journey as a new momma.
3) Do you have Gwyneth Paltrow’s cookbook, My Father’s Daughter? She has similar eating styles to you and often gives vegan/g-free options. If you don’t have it, check it out! I got mine off Amazon for pretty cheap : )
thank you!!
i haven’t checked it out yet- will do so right now ๐ thanks so much for the rec!
Your realtor might appreciate a donation being made to a local charity in her name.
did the ab burner x2 like a circuit…really good! love core exercises
glad you liked it!
